I used a PC to send a native 2160 x 3840 30p signal (with 4:4:4 chroma) to the LG and set the desktop magnification to 100%. The tiny text may not be the sharpest I have ever seen, however It’s perfectly legible—and that includes the far corners of the screen. If you sent 2160/60p to the projector, you lose the 4:4:4 chroma but mostly the image looks the same and you get the faster refresh rate for gaming and smooth scrolling, etc.

This projector doesn't do 4:4:4 at [email protected]? That's disappointing considering that it costs 10x as much as my basic 4K TV which can already do that and looks great. I find that text looks blurry without 4:4:4.

[email protected] 4:4:4 goes to 8 bit due to 18Gbps HDMI spec limit. [email protected] 4:2:2 12 bit should always look better. Even [email protected] 4:2:0 10 bit would be better than [email protected] 4;4:4 8 bit.

Where are you hearing these rumors from? Suspicion a newer version is releasing?

$4k a bit better if true, but really these need to be in $2-3k range, TVs and regular projectors are dirt cheap, there is no reason to pay more then that.

The Epson LS500 UST does support 3D and also includes a 120" screen for $6K. I'd like to see a comparison review of this projector. The LG's lack of support for 3D, by comparison, is a deal breaker for me.
