It’s priced at 3800 euros, contrast is a little bit better than uhz65ust and dci-p3 coverage is also higher when color filter is enabled. However, the biggest advantage it’s the ability to show 24hz content at 48hz.
By the time this will hit the stores (fall 2020) I suspect the price difference between the two will be close to 1000 euros.
I wonder who needs UST projectors for 3-5k$ when 86" TV available for 2000$ ?
I also hope that in few years 100" will drop to more reasonable price ($5-7k) from current 50000$.
And for TV you don't need to fight with ambient light.
Don’t forget the clr screen that cost as much as the projector. To answer your question, most people (myself included) who want a 120” screen for a fraction of a cost than a similar sized decent tv. Also that $2000 86” tv is trash and will look tiny in comparison with a 120” screen.
After reading Cine4Home testing, this new UST PJ is almost identical to HT5550 & HT3550. The only difference is this one is laser based. Advantages on brightness and long lasting bulb life. It matches to my measuring results of HT5550 & HT3550.
Not quite, the lumens were nearly 1500 and contrast was nearly 1500:1 with DCI enabled. That’s a visually noticeable difference from the HT3550/5550’s approximate 1000l and 1000:1 CR
