Since that email which I wrote months ago, I replaced the bottom chassis, removing the damage I caused so it is brand new. And whether or not I removed the foot, THREE MONTHS WITH NO END IN SITE IS TOTALLY UNREASONABLE FOR A REPAIR.
I strongly suggest you drop this right now, spizz, as I am understandably very pissed about this.
You do not know the whole story, like Dan Miller's promises to expeditite and intervene in this situation, which obviously came to nothing at all.
I NEVER said I wanted to swap the unit. I never tried to get it swapped. I never asked to get it swapped. I just wanted it repaired promptly.
It is AVS which is now trying to get my proj. swapped with Marantz because of the length of repair; not me.
Incidentally, the parts are backordered from JAPAN. That means Marantz in Japan has run out of the prts. When do YOU think I'll get my projector back?
As far as I am concerned, with Marantzs new policy of not issuing RMAs to replace projectors defectiveout of the box, forcing the customer to get it repaired AND their sterling service record, anyne who buys a Marantz projector is nuts.
Understand what this means: if you buy a Marantz proj. from AVS and it is defective, AVS can no longer swap it because Marantz will not swap it with AVS. You're stuck and f*cked.
