FS: Sony HW40ES - Like New w/ 3-year SquareTrade Warranty (Toronto)

Edit: SOLD

Purchased this projector for some experimentation with DIY light-rejecting screens. Great projector, throws a beautiful picture, but things didn't pan out with my experiments, so I'm looking for a good home for it. It is in pristine condition, with less than 10 hours of use, and it's covered by a 3-year SquareTrade warranty (well-regarded around the forums compared to the limited Sony warranty). I'm also including a few accessories:
  • a universal ceiling mount (rated for up to twice the projector's weight)
  • a set of PS3 3D glasses
  • a 25' HDMI cable
Asking $2000 CAD (~$1500 USD). Available for pickup in Toronto / North York, could arrange a dropoff within the GTA. If you're interested in buying from further afield, whether in Canada or the United States, just let me know and we can discuss logistics.

Arrgh, I knew I couldn't send PMs yet, but apparently I can't even respond either...

To clarify, the warranty is good through July 20, 2018.

@BiggNewt : The UPS website is giving me a little over $100 CAD (~$75 USD) for regular shipping to the address you requested. According to the site, that would be guaranteed delivery by the end of Thursday. Does that sound good?

Well, you can send me PMs, but I can't respond to them until I reach 15 posts.

Yes, I'd be willing to go with that as long as the estimate I got from the UPS site isn't wildly off.

I'm actually gonna test out the Epson and if it's not what up to snuff I'll be returning it and if you still have this I'll buy it.

Okay, fair enough. I can understand why you'd want to take a look at the 5030UB; that was my main competing option when I decided to get the Sony.

They are so similar and have minor things wrong with each so I really want to compare them. I'll be in touch for sure.

Hi,

Can you briefly explain how the SquareTrade warranty works? And aside from the ST warranty, was it purchased at an authorized Sony retailer?

Thanks

The full terms of a standard SquareTrade warranty can be found here. The highlights are:
  • Coverage for defects and normal wear for the term of the warranty (accidental damage and bulb replacements not included)
  • Repairs, reimbursement, or replacement up to the original price of the item with free shipping both ways
  • A "No Lemon Policy" where if you have the same issue three times in 12 months, you get an automatic new replacement or reimbursement to buy a new one
  • Can be officially transferred to new owner at no cost
  • Can be canceled for a prorated refund of its remaining value
The projector was not purchased from an authorized reseller; the SquareTrade warranty was purchased to provide alternative coverage (and offers some improved features over the Sony limited warranty) based on recommendations around the forums.
