Haven't totally decided yet. Waiting for some feedback from CES as to how things are playing out with Sony, JVC, etc.

Not sure to be honest. I still have the warranty papers, and i've never heard of someone having an issue with getting a repair as long as they have the physical warranty in hand. Then again, I've also never had any problem with any projector.

I'm not sure its a huge deal in all honesty. Many projectors get bought and sold on here regardless of warranty status, and if you are getting it from a reliable person, you'll get all of the paperwork you need in case something goes wrong somewhere down the road.

Either way, I've dropped the price on both of the projectors. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

With regard to RS600, can you PM info on it. I see it has fewer than 400 hours, but looking for details about image, corner brightness, how well it calibrated and anything that isn't up to participate. This projector should be perfect as previous top end. Thx for info. I'm a long time JVC D-ILA owner and interested.

No. The RS600 is "faux-k" and does a very good job of it, pretty much indistinguishable from a true 4k projector when viewed at normal distances (greater than 2 feet) and normal program material (not still test patterns). The JVC displays 4M pixels. The HW40es displays 2M pixels. A true 4k projector displays 8M pixels.

Correct. Thank you for clarifying. The JVC isnt a "true" 4K projector, but I've had both this and a Sony 600es in my theater, and unless you are sitting with your nose at the screen, you will not notice any difference. In fact, the JVC has a nicer overall image in my opinion. I know alot of people on here would agree with that as well.

I am in Bucks County near Doylestown, how far are you from there? How is the JVC for sports, seems the new ones have an issue and might not be as good as I would like for my application.
