FS: RUNCO LS-5 w/new OEM lamp

For sale is my Runco LS-5 projector. The LS-5 has a nearly invisible dynamic iris and some of the best black levels from a single chip DLP...it has the .95 chip.

It has a new OEM lamp that I purchased directly from Planar/Runco and now has only about 220 hours on it. Physically, this projector has some trivial small scuff marks on the plastic case; the lens looks great and the projector works flawlessly!

Asking $780 plus shipping. Accept Paypal.

It has the standard throw. You will need about 15 feet between the unit and the screen for that size screen (110" diagonal).

I have a 10 feet wide 16:9 (about 138inch diagonal) screen with a 0.9 gain. My question is i heard the projector is not as bright.. will it work for this? And how far back do i need to place it to cover my screen size?

It's 1000 lumens but this is calibrated so it's true lumens.

Might not be real bright on that size screen but this is a great projector.

No it won't, if that was an Dalite HP 2.8 it would be awesome!

Hi. This has the .95 chip with a premium light path/lens, so on-screen, it appears brighter than the numbers suggest. I use it in low lamp on a 1.1 gain screen, 125 inches diagonal/133 inches diagonal 1.78:1 16x9 equivalent. However, to fill your screen size at about 140 inches, you would have to move it back further to meet the throw and you also have a negative gain (0.9) screen, so I don't think it would be a good match for you, unfortunately.

Do you know how many nits you get on the 1.1 gain 133" screen?

Hi, No, I don't. Unfortunately, I put it away.

I can tell you that the 1.1 gain screen helped a lot though. In high lamp mode, the image in a darkened room never made me think the image looked off where if there really were insufficient light. However, it is lamp-based and I placed new OEM lamp in there from Planar and it has only a few hundred hours now. The down-side is that it is still lamp technology and as the lamp ages you will lose brightness.
