MIRROR for 73" Mit DLP
This mirror was purchased erroneously for my 73" CRT RPTV, which was a mistake because the mirror for a CRT RPTV is characteristcally different from that of a DLP RPTV, and I didn't use my imagination enough. And of course since it has been a while since Mit has produced either CRT or DLP, they were totally unhelpful in getting me any measurements, to confirm any of it. So I ordered wrong.
Turns out that the CRT 3 gun system uses a mirror that is much wider down below at the bottom than for the same size screen DLP, which is a 1 lens system. Size at top is the same, but it is much narrower down below. The sides have a much steeper angle than the one for CRT, which Mit has never sold. For CRT of that size they have always used a mylar mirror, which is what I was trying to replace with a true front surface glass mirror, which is what is used on all their other sizes. Glass gives truer blacks than mylar plastic, and is actually cleanable. Mylar mirrors cannot be cleaned. Best you can do is spray them with compressed air, otherwise the surface scratches like crazy.
So if you need a brand new, unused, still in the box replacement front surface glass mirror straight from Mit, I'll give it to you at less than my cost, which with shipping was a little over $250. Retail if I were ordering it for a customer would be around $350.
Since shipping a mirror is so challenging to do, most of that cost was the shipping, so local only will be how I will have to handle it. If you want to buy it and hire somebody to ship it to you that's OK, you just have to pay me first, send them over here, and have them take it from there.
