Hi all, I've been using MPC-HC with MadVR (v 0.89.5) for over 2 years now without problem. I'm still running a PC with Win XP SP3. Today, I encountered this error message for the 1st time:

madHcCtrl.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point _time32 could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll

It appears every time I launch a new video. I've tried reinstalling MPC-HC, and also reinstalled MadVR (with latest 0.92.17) to no avail. That error message still comes up.

Any idea how I can fix it?

On another note, is there any other good video renderer aside from MadVR?

It's displayed in the player taskbar that pops up when selected and goes away when selected again. You can toggle the current local time up there also but it's 24hr and not 12hr. File name too.
I'm referring to the Windows taskbar, the one on the bottom of the desktop, not the player one.
Tried enabling the Show in tray option, did not get the desired result.

Similar to the 1by1 player options.

On my MPC-HC opening screen, I get a green check mark and a red x. Does anyone know what that means?

What is Tearing Test (Ctrl+T)?

Pressing the key combination does not appear to do anything.

Running this on a laptop with a 1050 ti, anyone have recommended 1050 ti settings? I'm very new to this and just followed most of the guide where I'm running it on the doubling setting.

New to MPC, just curious, if I am running my HDMI out as 1080 24hz, and playing back 1080 24p content, is there any advantage to using MPC over VLC or even Windows Media Center? I see all the talk about processing and needing a high end GPU, but my MPC MadVR 1080 24Hz movie file playback with everything enabled pegs the GPU (GT 1030 Nvidia set as decoder) at 100% with no stuttering, but doesn't lag or drop frames. I am wondering if MPC and all the fixin's are just for upscaling users?

Followed the guide above and the suggestion of having 8 separate profiles for example 4k and 1080p 720p sd

I assume you then separately change the settings in each profile. Ie have different options for 1080p than the 4k profile

Also when running in full screen mode my composition rate is 60 htz but my display rate is 23.9

When I knock off full screen exclusivity the rates then match at 23.9 etc
