Master List Of Streaming Sources?

is there an avs thread, website, or another forum that has compiled a "master list" of streaming sources that offer great viewing experiences using an htpc, a list that not only includes the source name (netflix for example) but also the best means in which to stream the source (micosoft edge vs firefox vs wiindows 10 app for example)?

i ask because i'm in the process of fine tuning my new htpc build to include as many video sources as possible, and was very surprised to find that hulu, for example, only streams in 1080p it appears... it would also be great if the compiled list included which sources streamed in 4k and/or 4k hdr, as well as, for example, lesser known sources that stream well on an htpc... to be clear, i'm not looking for any torrent or pirated sources, only legal sources.

aeneas01,

Despite its title, "The Complete List of Streaming Services – 200+ Services" seems to list about 180 services.

Each orange paragraph title is a link to the service's website. (I tried only one.)

They're not focused on HTPCs, so there may be technical barriers for PC users. Some sites may use unfamiliar languages or have geographic requirements.

It's not exactly what you want,
but maybe it's a place to start.

yes, i've actually seen that site before, and few others like it, but what i'm hoping to find is something put together by the htpc community given streaming can be quite a different animal when it comes to htpc, i.e. some streaming services work much better with a pc app instead of a browser, some work better with edge instead of chrome, etc... altho i haven't had a chance to dig very deeply yet, the early returns seems to point to streaming services focusing much more on media box apps (roku, apple tv, smart tvs, etc.) , even hand held device apps, as opposed to pc/browser, alas... anyway, thanks for the response, it was helpful!

HTPC makes a very poor streamer in comparison to the dedicated streaming boxes. Netflix and Hulu are the only two services that have dedicated apps and are Windows 10 only. Audio other then PCM stereo aren't supported by any of the browser based services. 4K on a limited bases maybe on some services in certain browsers. AppleTV comes the closest to supporting the most available from the streaming apps (Atmos/HDR/DV/4K). The 4 top streaming boxes are the Roku, FireTV, ATV and Shield and highly recommended if you want the best for streaming. HTPC is best at playing ripped content through a processor like MadVR.
