Having HT Plates in Two Different Spots

I am just in the process of refinishing my basement and have not fully decided what type of furniture or TV stand I am going to go with. Right now I have the 5.1.2 wires run and to a central spot right below the TV. However, if my wife ends up getting a stand that can't house my receiver I will want the 5.1.2 hook up in a different area so it doesn't stick out.

Is it possible that I can have the 5.1.2 setup in 2 spots? Basically I would run 7 cables from the existing box (pigtailed to the existing speaker wires) to a different area and I would put a Blank Cover over the 3 gang box. This would just give me the flexibility to have two different spots for the HT setup.

Any issues you see? Or is this alright as long as I have the leads capped off on the HT plate I'm not using?

No reason at all not to do what you’re considering.

Awesome thanks! Just ran the "just in case" cables behind the wall.
