He is traveling amongst the stars from whence we all came...

I was also really saddened to read about Trek fans ripping Shatner a new one just because he couldn't make Mr. Nimoy's funeral. They were dear friends and he would have gone if he didn't have the charity event commitment. Nimoy, I'm sure, would have understood. Spock would have said it was the only logical thing to do. Too bad some of his "fans" don't see logic.

I am touched by the genuine warmth of the "emotionless" character. Spock was by far my favorite character.
In the original pilot, Spock was yelling a lot. Once the series got into gear he was spectacular.

As a kid, I remember watching the show on a small (soft of) color TV. It was on from 8:30 to 9:30 and there was always a battle the get my parents to let me stay up for the second half. When the series came out in HD, it was a revelation. What a fantastic experience seeing these episodes fully restored on a large screen. Spock was wonderful but there was more to that series. It was an ensemble with of great characters good writing. A sign of a great show has a mix drama and humor and Star Trek had that in spades.

Some of the making-of videos are great to watch a fantastic Team, busting butt to make deadlines.

R.I.P. Leonard Nimoy. Mr. Spock has a special place in our hearts.

INSIDE STAR TREK by Herbert Solow (Desilu production exec) and Robert Justman (associate producer) makes for incredible reading. Many inside scoops and stories, most of the probably true. Out of print last I checked (can't fathom why) but worth finding.

“Ever heard of the Sullivan Act?” “Oh that's all right, Detective, we're married.”

Gotta make appearances though or how is anyone to know?

If your appearance helps raise lots of money for a worthy cause, that's important too. Nimoy did his fair share of fundraisers just like Shatner. You can't be in two places at once.
