We used some local paint brand and the color only had a number associated with it. I will have to find the piece of paper we had it written on. I really don't think it would be something you could search for but it was something like JW 5805-Y110 or something weird.

Wifey basically looked through the paint company's color palette and eyeballed a color she liked. We actually tried to get as close to the deep red color that we used when we were in Virginia. <---- That paint was this Chianti Red in matte. It's really hard to relay a true paint color through a picture, ya know?

Thanks, I agree. It does look great. Just to be clear though, no gold in this place. We used copper. So it's a red/black/copper combo. It's coming together pretty nicely. The space is more inviting now than I had imagined.

Maybe 'rilla stuffed those jewel cubes in his carry on

Not every day you see two 24" subwoofers with 8,800 watts of motivation--and Bose jewel cubes.

And I thought I was pretty gangster with a 15" laptop with oversized battery and 4AA powered speakers 12 years ago. Tent theaters tend to be less demanding....

Thanks man. Glad to hear and very much appreciated. I'll be in Doha for a total of 2 years. I can't believe I've already been out here for an entire year!

If I work at this pace when I build my next space from scratch... Seems like it is going to be a 3 year project..lol.
Hehehe. Check this out. There this old timer here that has taken over a decade to build his theater. Who does that right. It was like one of those reality shows you can't stop tuning in. He's got a beautiful pup in one of the pics. So about once a year I remember and go check in. Sometimes there no new posts, other times theres several new pages. Thru the years you see very little progress but the dog grows and ages. Finally about nine years in, no more dog pics, no laying in the background or tail in corner of photo. Someone asks about the dog. He's says, oh, he got real sick and I had to put him down. What......... nooooooooooo! Hows does that happen? Holy Crap I was blow away. I was laughing so hard I was crying. It still cracks me up every time it comes to mind. I come here for some home theater inspiration and I get Old Yeller.

Seems to be a thing Andrew does before he wrecks shop on some food. Here is a pic I took of him before he dominiated a dozen eggs, a pound of bacon and a whole loaf of bread / french toast.

Your life is important to me, so I'll holler at you tomorrow to give you a few tips. AVS doesn't seem like the right place to share cooking tips. Although, a good fluffy egg DIY guide/thread may not be such a bad thing over in these parts...Hummmm....

Haha, my life definitely needs better eggs. It could be the cage free BS M buys at the store....who knows.

Full disclosure: I just learned to "like" eggs very recently. Like a month or two. I hate the way they feel and taste. I douse mine with hotsauce and maybe cheese or something. I tend to overcook mine. It's still fluffy but with like a skin. Eh. It's good enough to choke down. Gotta get them protein. I want to look like you guys.

That sounds like fun! Cooking with AVS. Or maybe cooking with bass? Yeahhh...

The trick I use with eggs is start with butter to coat the pan. Moar fat! Then I whisk the eggs in a small bowl with heavy cream or whatever the fattiest milk I have on hand. Not too much. Just a teaspoon (I only cook one egg at a time) of it.

So far this has made good eggs but that's coming from a 30yr old dude who just started eating them.

Time for videos, I think. Austin should have up a full YT video of making eggs with bass by the time I get home from work.

Do you have a good source for white papers on egg preparation? It doesn't get more scientific than cooking, just like being in the lab but the products wont kill you (usually).

I think Harmon has a whitepaper on eggs.
They say all people like eggs universally prepared the same way.

The charts published show that universal preference is for one egg with 17 grains of salt and 1 grain of pepper, but somehow I find I like my egg with 19 grains of salt and 3 grains of pepper.

Does that mean I'm an uneducated, ignorant, or perhaps dishonest, egg eater?

and I digress....

Meh, allergies are all psychological... With enough practice eating eggs your way, she will get over it. Just ask Steve, he's a doctor...

Seems to me like you have never tried your eggs in a double blind test. I'd put money down saying you couldn't tell the difference between 17 and 19 grains of salt. That would be hard for even those with a golden palate.

Cook bacon....leave grease in pan, then cook your eggs. That is if you want them over easy or sunny side up.

For scrambled....crack eggs into a bowl and add salt pepper and milk, then whisk. Cook until almost done and add cheese. Perfect!

I found that regular kraft cheese tastes best in scrambled eggs even though it is not my favorite cheese by a long stretch.

Funny, we are talking about eggs on a AV science forum.

Hey, we're just a group of friends talking about stuff we love.
@Pain Infliction That is pretty much what I do now but I whisk the eggs and milk in a bowl and when the pan is ready I dump the eggs in and then add the salt, pepper and cheese. I also have been using the Kraft singles lately because they melt so well. I've tried shredded jack cheese but it's too mild and I can't really taste it in the eggs. Pepperjack is a bit better but it doesn't melt as well as the Kraft singles which are nice and gooey. I'll keep testing other methods and mixtures though.

One method I want to do soon is make a batch of stuffing and mix that and the eggs together to make an egg stuffing omelet. *Homer Simpson drool*

I know, right?

I keep scrolling up and looking at the pic of you two @Gorilla83 and @popalock you guys sure that that 'private contractor' look down pat. These guys got no eggs to worry about.

Might be a good thing though because eating a lot of cheese is not particularly good for you. I need to go by what I just said because I eat a lot of cheese. Love me some Gouda cheese and sharp cheddar!
