Selling a complete system with a home...?
Hi all—I'm sorry if this is not the best place to post this question (if you know, LMK and I will move it), but I have some questions about moving or selling a system...
My folks had a fairly high-end system installed in their media room back in 2016, replacing a very old RPCRT and dolby-digital DVD-era system from the late-90's. The upgraded system (guided, but not installed by me) is comprised of Legacy speakers, dual SVS subs, an Anthem MRX720 receiver, and a 79" 4k LG TV—top of the line LCD from 2015/2016. The system is rack mounted in a custom cabinet and controlled by a Control4 system. Installed, along with a networking overhaul, Control4 lighting stuff and another room's minor refresh, it cost them over $80k.
Fast forward to 2018 and they have decided to downsize. Much of the components could be moved to their new home, but it's all pretty nicely setup and integrated in the home they're moving from.
Bottom line is I'm trying to help them determine a number to offer to the home buyers to sell them the whole system, if they're even interested. If it were up to me, I would take it with me. It's all pretty current gear still and all very nice. Sounds great and would more or less fit into their new home.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation? What was your approach to selling? Thanks, and again I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I'll attach some gear porn to try and fit in... 😉
