Call me crazy, but should one actually be able to buy a pre/pro before we call it one of the best units on the market. No one knows what the HTP-1 sounds like, so IMO it should not be considered a top pre/pro until it is at least more than vapor ware.
WOKNROX and RobertChicken like this.

Emotiva RMC-1
Mirage OMD C-2 Center;Mirage OMD-28 Mains;Mirage OMD-5 Surrounds
Mirage OMD-R Rears;Mono-Price 8" Alpha in Ceiling X4;Dual PSA S1510DF Subs
Sony VPL-VW385ES
Emotiva XPA DR-2 (Mains);XPA-9 (5.4)

It was playing at CEDIA, so I heard it. The "architecture" is well known so its performance is "predictable" just like the Monolith amps. It's a killer unit & it's expected to ship this year ( in one month according to the Monoprice website). So it's in the list.

The RMC has good architecture, yet as we know it has had issues out of the box. I just think that anything that is on a “best” list should be a product that is available and has been tested enough to know how reliable it is. People trust sites when they know that whatever product they are recommending is solid. It would just be a bad look for AVS if the HTP-1 comes out and it has issues like the Emotiva did.

And I do think the HTP will be a killer unit, as it checks all of the boxes. Just I think it’s premature to call it one of the best pre/pros on the market at this time.

Well, it's not based on an Emotiva. Hey, I feel good about it, you'd be more cautious. No problemo.

That's an AVR. It happens to be the AVR I use. But... it's an AVR not a pre/pro.

Short answer is it's an AVR without the amplifiers.
