Let a friend see/hear your setup. Take a friend to your dealer. Watch how fast one can become infected. And yes these forums will make one want to continue to buy.

Well said! That is how I have gotten my son, sister, three cousins and two friends hooked. For most, the affliction only flares up when I come over to their homes and tweak their system to sound a little better, then they come over my house and next thing you know they want MUCH better.

I told my friend ive got the bug. he said Covid? i said nope, now i want a bigger tv so i can cocoon in the house till this thing resolves.
I got him into this hobby, he likes my idea, so it wont be long before he calls me asking for advice on his next purchase.

Those of us with Audiophilia Upgraditus are prepared for being quarantined. Lots of options to keep myself entertained during these unprecedented times.

Without a worthwhile discount for that new noise, my wallet shall remain contactless.

I began my upgrades prior to the C-19 crisis, projector upgrade, DCM lens, replaced HT seats front row (3), previous seats were 12 years old, I gave them to a friend of mine and sold him my previous video equipment. I told my wife that I can work down in the HT Room and she can work at my NOC desk, as she calls it. I'm done now, until I retire and sell our house. Thank you Lord, feeling blessed, keep us all safe from all harm and danger.

Peace and blessings,

Azeke

I think my affliction mutated.
years ago i was almost finished the basement as a home theatre room. Simple compared to some of the beautiful rooms ive seen showcased here.
But then i bought my first 50" plasma and built the "hutch" it sits on, which kinda warmed up my woodworking hobby again. so, needless to say my home theatre room has been more of a workshop ever since. (28 pieces of my own furniture in here and counting).
I had dreams of a 75" tv down there but i reconsidered again. Now the mutation.
I purchased a 43" samsung 7100, not expensive, decent picture, and put that in my master bedroom. (50 wouldnt fit) dusted off some downgraded equipment and built a 5.1 DD system while i was isolating. Im actually quite pleased with the results and still have enough equipment there to upgrade it to true hd if i desire.
This has been a fun little project.
5 surround sound systems in this house and counting. alexa, meet curly, moe, larry, bob, and guido.

As long as you like building, add a BOSS in the basement.
