I have recently ordered two rows of 4 Fusion Jive seats from Roman. I am planning one row of on the floor with the second row on a 1' riser. My room is 20' deep and I am using a 2.35 screen with a "view height" of 54" and my projector will be the JVC DLA-X990R 4K. There is a 10" LVL protruding from the 9' ceiling about 1/3 of the way from the screen to the other end of the room. See image.

I am trying to determine whether there is going to be an issue with the 10" LVL regarding the view for the second row of seats and the projected image being able to hit the top of the screen without interference.

In the JPEG image, the red line represents the way the wall of the Media Room will be constructed.

If anyone has a way to show a side view of this layout, that would be wonderful.

Question

Hi Paul, I'm considering these as well and just sent you a PM, would love to chat.

What impressed even more than the product was the time and effort Roman spent well into the evening of a Holiday weekend making sure all my questions were answered and I was comfortable with my decisions. I placed the order Thursday evening and the chairs arrived this morning (Really fast). I ordered a row of 4 and a row of 3 (Escape-1019 leather). All arrived in perfect condition and, as I stated above, the product blows away any and all expectations I had. I have never met Roman or done business with him prior but I can honestly say after 50 years on this planet it will go down as one of my most satisfying purchase experiences and that is saying a lot...just ask my wife! Ha!

Thanks again,
Paul

Fusion seating demo?

Hi Everyone, I'm torn between two models of Roman's Fusion seating line:

The streamline (1017) and the Escape (1019)

Is there anyone within say 50 miles of Chicago that owns either and would be willing to show them off?

Or for that matter, any owners of either who'd like to talk about their experience?

From a technical perspective, I think I understand the feature differences (lumbar vs headrest, cup cooler, etc)

But I'm not able to tell how each chair would fit/feel.

Thanks!

Jack the undecided chair buyer.

Jack,

One of my customers who has Streamline-1017s just emailed me. He is in Libertyville, IL, which is about 45 min drive from Chicago, and he said he would not mind to let you see/try his chairs.

Email me, and I will get you his info.

I wanted to leave another glowing review for Roman from another return customer. I purchased my first set of three Fusion Escape chairs about 3 years ago from Roman. The first transaction was very smooth and enjoyable. The chairs arrived in perfect condition and were more comfortable than I hoped they would be. Since that time I have moved, built a new house and started to build a new theater. With the new theater I have room for second row of chairs so I reached out to Roman again. Just like the first transaction Roman was very quick to reply and very friendly. My set set of chairs were delivered earlier this week. While I haven't unpacked the chairs yet because I don't have a completed room yet, the boxes appear to be in good condition and I assume the chairs are of the same quality as my first order.

Thanks again Roman for making a smooth and enjoyable purchasing experience!! Once the room is done and all 6 chairs are setup I'll share a final picture.

Hello, I need some advice... one of my chair is starting to act with the button light. I tried to unplug and plug but till same issue. See pic below.

The RED button, lock button, is light instead of the cool button. When I lock the chair all the buttons are off, rather than all off except the red.

I believe the chairs are still under warranty, but maybe we can find a quick fix.

Any advise?

I should have:
Cool, Open, Close, Head up, Head down = BLUE
Lock = not light

You need to file a claim with MFS.

For that you need your original invoice and the protection plan I sent you when we shipped the chairs.

I will ship you a replacement cup holder as soon as I get a parts order request from MFS.

Just responded to your email.

All the instructions how to file a claim are in your policy.

Just submit the claim and attach your original invoice and your policy.

You can also call them before doing so, and confirm. The phone number is on the policy: 1-800-686-5559

Anyone here with the Fusion Escape 1019 in a two row configuration?

How much space do you have between your first and second row? I'm trying to put the final touches on my rear riser design and I am struggling a bit with the spacing. Right now I am planning on having 3ft between the back of the first row and front of the second row, but I'd like to shrink that down to about 2.5ft if possible. I know that will be plenty for walking but I then wonder about if the first row is reclined and the second row is not, or if the second row is reclined and the front row is not, or what if both rows are reclined. I've made a few sketches but I thought someone on here may have these chairs in two rows and have some good feedback.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I would suggest keeping 3 feet.

While 2.5 feet can possibly work, you have to remember that you may not want to have someone's feet hanging over your head, and that may happen if you have a long foot guy sitting in the back row, while you are sitting in the front one in reclined position.

My projector screen is low, Which seat height is lower, the Escape or the Tribute? WIth my current standard recliners, sometimes I have to adjust my tilt my foot a little when reclined and watching 1.85 aspect ratio.

The back height of the Tribute-1015s is 44.75". The back height of the Escape-1019s is 42.5", but full extended headrest will make it close to 45".

You do need to consider that the back height will drop down when you recline the chairs, and usually in most common reclined position it will be 4" lower comparing to full upright position.

The back height is not a concern to me, It's how high the foot rest is off the floor when fully reclined. So as not to have my own foot from blocking part of the lower picture.

You head position will always be higher than your foot position, so that would not be an issue.

Roman - are you going to be keeping the controls on the cup holder or moving to the controls on the side of the armrest like some others are doing? I am looking for a set of seats but have heard complaints about controls on the cup holder causing inadvertent movement of the chairs that can be annoying. Thanks.

I believe some posts back I have commented on that, but here it is again:

The cup holder that we use on our Escape-1019s has a LOCK button that serves several purposes:

1. it would lock all the controls out, so you cannot accidentally move the chair or headrest while placing your hand on the cup holder.
2. It shuts down all the LED lights, so they are not distracting you from watching a movie
3. Turning the LEDs off extends their life span.

When you want to readjust your headrest / chair position you press the LOCK button again, and that will release the controls and turns the LEDs back on, so you can see how to start a specific action.

Trying to figure out which is the best bet for 3 straight chairs. My theater room has 146" in width. I must walk from the rear through the side in order to sit down.

With the escapes I will have 23.375" of free space on either side. The tributes would be 26.125, and Jives would be 29.25".

You think 23" is too narrow? I guess I will move my existing recliner to those spaces and see how little room I can tolerate.

I have had my 8 escapes for a few years now and I can say that the seat controls are fantastic. Easy to adjust by simply hitting the unlock button followed by the appropriate control button. As Roman mentioned, the lock button prevents any accidental movement and turns off the blue lights so that they are not distracting during a movie. I really like having the controls on top of the arm. It makes it easy to see which button you are pressing and they are easy to reach. My parents have a love seat from another manufacturer with controls on the side and I am always trying to find the buttons and then I end up hitting the wrong one about half the time. I wouldn't change a thing about my Escapes.

My previous room was within a few inches of total width as your room. I mean really close to the same as yours. I had three Escape and I didn't feel it was to crowded on the sides. I was a little concerned but once the chairs were in the room I never felt it was tight and I even had my equipment rack near the walkway around the chairs. My suggestion is to buy the Escapes and enjoy. Here are a few pictures of the Escapes in my ~12' wide room that I didn't feel was to tight.

Did you hide the power cord under the carpet?

Not exactly. I had a power outlet on the right wall (when looking from the back of the room). I used an extension cord from the outlet to the underside of the middle of the three seats. All three seats plugged into the power cord there under the seat. To make sure the extension cord wasn't a trip hazard I used a floor cord cover like this....

I just got my Lagoon's, and they're fantastic other than one small detail; the controllers/usb port are too bright. Anyone have any idea on how do address this that a) doesn't ruin your warranty, and b) doesn't look cheap like electrician's tape?

Try putting a clear piece of transparency film over the LED to reduce the brightness...
