I have invested in a rather pricey atom mini pc running windows 10 with dual dvd outputs connected directly to my two large vertical displays. The old movie app works ok but has lots of bugs including losing all its settings randomly, losing its dual display settings often , multiple frequent out of memory exception crashes and could never get it to work with kalaidescape .
In addition I had asked for a feature request to allow http control of multiple functions most important of which was ability to dim displays. My theater is open on one walll with columns and the movie poster displays are in the next door kitchen. They need significant dimming when the projector is running to prevent glare. My problem is that I have multiple sources for my theater including directv, nvidia shield for Netflix and amazon etc, a couple of older Sony 400 disc dvd jukeboxes, newer oppo Blu-ray player and kalaidescape and I know of no way to monitor all these various sources to pull what's playing. If anyone does please chime in. So when the theater is on I want to either show what is playing on the movie posters if possible or revert to just showing IMDb downloads of current and upcoming movies. I use homeseer as home automation so I can easily issue direct http commands or use rest protocol to dim displays. Right now I just turn them off during theater on state.
Will you ever code this for windows 10?
Will you ever allow for multiple displays?
Will you add in http control of basic functions including display dimming?
Will you include IMDb download of current and upcoming movies?
Any ideas on how to integrate so many different sources to determine what's playing?
