Velvet curtain on a ceiling track to cover ceiling?

I'm moving to a new house and losing my dedicated theater as a result

In the new place, I'll have to use the family/living room at night. Has anyone tried to put a massive velvet curtain on 2 tracks on the ceiling parallel to each other, perhaps starting at the screen wall just outside the screen edges and terminating near the main listening position? This way I could have it collapsed during the day to help with WAF, but at night, I could roll it out to help with ceiling reflections.

Anyone try this?

If you're not looking for it to be powered/automated, it seems feasible. To power it might present some challenges as you'd need a way to have it be a single source pull. Having two independent motors could work, but you run the risk of them being off in timing or the like which could cause a catastrophic failure.

Presumably, you'd need multiple support rods evenly spaced to prevent it from drooping over time.

Somewhere either here or in the construction forum there are a couple theaters that used this concept with some notes and pictures. Sorry don't have the link just the memory.
