I have a 60VT60 as well and am pondering the same thing.

Depends whether you value a $600 gift card at Newegg more than you would $575 in cash...

If you watch your 60VT60 in the dark, you'll be happier with the OLED...

Not so much ... cash is king. There are things I could get through NewEgg with that 600 GC but if I can get closer to net of 2300 cash for the B6, I'd go that route. Just have not found that deal yet.

The OLEDs are in a different league all together. Go look at both sets in the store, they make all other sets so look inferior. If you are spending that kind of money there is no way I would go with anything besides OLED.

I also have a 60VT60 and recently purchased the 65E6. I have to honestly say that there's absolutely no comparison. The OLED is in a different league. I'd never purchase anything other than an OLED at this point.

I too have the 60VT60 and still very happy with mine.

No question my next TV will be an OLED. But a purchase will open the floodgates to the world of 4K. I would want the Oppo UHD player, up Netflix subscription and of course possibly triple dipping on some titles.

For that reason I am holding out 'til next year. But I also want 3D and I have a feeling LG may phase it out next year. So if anything, a C6 is in my future if they really drop. Just sucks that it is curved.

LG OLED 65C7P • Apple TV 4K • Roku Ultra 2018 • Oppo BDP-103 Blu-ray • LG UP970 UHD BD
Denon X3400H AVR • Paradigm Cinema 110 CT Speaker System

So I have a good sound bar, so that part of the e6 is a non starter for me. That being said, would you say go with the b6? Am I missing any other advantages to the e6 aside from the picture in glass display?

The only other thing that I can think of is that I think the E6 also has 3D whereas the B6 does not.

I really can't comment on a comparison between the two. I went with the E6 because of the soundbar. I am pretty impressed with the quality of sound output. I am now waiting to get a deal on the 55E6 for that reason alone to replace a tv in my bedroom. I have a full surround system in my media room if I watch a movie, but for everyday tv, the E6 sounds great!

Email. I chatted after hours on Thursday. Got an email quote for $3200 originally the next day. Then yesterday night I got an updated quote without doing anything else. Must be because of the $200 that LG is slashing off MSRP.

That's easy, order 65B6 from Cleveland Plasma for $2500 or whatever his current price is, price match tvsuperstores or cliffsdeals using your credit card for $500 back.

Have you seen/heard of anyone successfully matching cliffsdeals? I just bought mine from BB. Do i need to wait for it to be delivered or since i have the receipt can i start the price matching process?

LG has dropped MSRP

LG has dropped the MSRP from $3k to $2800 for the 65" B series.

So I expect other places like ClevelandAV, ielctrica etc. will also lower their prices as well.
Getting closer to the $2k mark

They dropped the MSRP for one whole week. I don't see 65" OLED @ $1999 for at least another few months when the 2017 models debut.

You have 90 days to find a nice price and 21 days from the date on the price you want to match to file the match through Chase (other cards may vary). You should probably wait for delivery to be sure you are keeping the TV before starting this other paperwork. Just screenshot or print a few places today (or this week) that are at least $500 lower than you paid in case LG decides they want to screw people after these sales.

Edit: oh yeah, I think people are in progress with match cliffs and have successfully done tvsuperstores or east coast. You can search in these forums.

Wow, what did the B6/C6 start out at six months ago? $3999/$4999... now they're down to $1499/$2499. That's $2500 in six months. Let that be a lesson to you guys who are waiting for tge 2017 models. Good things come to those who wait (six months)

In the long run, you'll be happier with the OLED. Dolby Vision, Better Blacks and Better Viewing Angles.

Gaming Input Lag and Low Resolution video is probably better on the Sammy.

Canadian dollar approx. = $.74 U.S.

That makes the TV $3,700 U.S. The price may already include some level of value added tax which is an add-on sales tax in the U.S. Best Buy in the U.S. has a price of $4k from what I see online.

There isn't a lot of 4K TV content, other than Netflix and Amazon Video.

So maybe there's no great hurry to buy now.

You'll be waiting a lot more than 6 months for a 2017 model at this price - more like 12 months. And then at that point you can say "just wait for the 2018 model!"

PC gaming if you are in to that.

And basically every single new movie is getting a 4k release.

So I think there is plenty of content. Streaming 4k content is irrelevant anyways.. bandwidth does not support that in any meaningful way. Also, HDR.

Nobody loves to buy a new TV more then me. Your singing to my choir here I'll wait and wait and wait some more. Ask a merchant that carries TV's and ask them to show you what cable or over the air antenna looks like on these tv's then make a decision. I'm not going to buy a tv just to watch 4k blu ray on them most my watching will be cable. Time has taught me buying a tv is to wait.

These are just my opinions.

I think this was a last minute price change for Black Friday by LG. The newer prices were not even listed in the newspaper Sunday supplements for HHG. They still had $1999 for the 55 inch, but they later updated the website. Now the prices are a bit more tempting, although I was thinking about the 55KS8000 from Samsung for $999, but the OLED would be the best choice, budget issues aside.

That is always a big problem. Most of the displays in the stores either have some inferior low res video, or some 4K demo loop on the nicer TVs. But no real world display for HD cable or OTA antenna. Then they get mad if you ask them to unbox one of their indoor antennas and connect to the TV to see what it actually looks like. But most of my viewing is HD cable and antenna, so before I spend a lot of money I want to know what I am paying for and if it looks good for my application. One of big box stores still has an antenna system on the roof, but they said it was not connected anymore.
