Yes, the highest end model is the one that came first last year, and they appear to be following suit in 2017. It was unleashed last year in February in limited markets.

This was confirmed by multiple people including myself by visiting the stores.

It's entirely possible that the G7s might land early. And to that end, the W7 has been on Best Buy's website for a little while now for anyone who wants to buy it now and have one of the first units when they show up. I cannot imagine Best Buy would begin to sell something in advance that wouldn't hit the stores in about 30 days or so. And LG's own website says the 65W7 is a real thing, not "coming soon".

HHGregg listed the 65G6 as "DISCONTINUED" and given the typical sets I think most of these stores carry, I can't imagine they sold a lot of the very high dollar OLEDs at most of their locations (Best Buy/Magnolia probably sold a lot more per store). But as we all found out, it's not like HHGregg has a lot of 65G6s in inventory throughout their entire system when it was discovered they had deeply discounted the set (maybe a dozen new sets tops with a smattering of store demos).

The big question is whether they will do the same with the E6. One thing I discovered is that HHGregg is pretty lean in OLED inventory, period. There aren't a lot of 65B6s in their system in middle Tennessee either (maybe a couple when i checked last week). One thing that the HHGregg situation has demonstrated is to pay attention to some of the smaller authorized regional and local electronics retailers who might make a pricing deal unilaterally versus just checking Best Buy and the internet shippers.

Yep earlier in the thread I made a post and ate crow on that one because it was indeed true. Awesome deal, even if many of them are demo/floor models and congrats to all who were lucky enough to get one at that price.

I went to the local HHGregg store on Saturday, and they had a return coming in today on the G6. Sales guy promised me the TV, took my info. Called this afternoon, and SURPRISE, TV is ready for pickup, but the price is now $5,999.

We want a c6 to use in the bedroom so i have been watching these sells but the ielectra 55 c6 went back up from $1440 to $1620. So i called the local best buy and they said in store is $1800 but you dont get the $150 card with it because the card is for online orders only and not in store.

Thanks to this forum, I was able to capitalize on the credit card price protection program! Here's the deal I received for my new LG OLED 65E6 (manufactured on Nov 2016):

On 1/13/17 - Purchased from Cleveland AV for $3,150 (via phone) and delivered by 1/18/17
On 1/17/17 - Submitted Credit Card Price Protection claim (Chase Sapphire Reserve) against East Coast TV (advertised for $2,379) by providing the following material at eclaimsline.com:
- Invoice from Cleveland AV (shows model #, billing info, and price)
- Confirmation email from Cleveland AV (shows card # & price)
- Credit Card statement (shows card # & price)... probably overkill
- Printed Web Page of East Coast TV's LG OLED65E6 (showing header & footer with URL and date info)
On 1/24/17 - Received Approval of Credit Card Price Protection Claim
On 1/26/17 - Check of $500 (maximum allowance) was administered

LG OLED65E6 TOTAL PRICE = $3,150 - $500 = $2,650!

Good info, will probably end up ordering from Cleveland AV here soon.
Do you mail in the Printed Web page? Or just scan it it so it would show the date?

Nice and congrats! I did the same steps... just got my 65E6 from iElectrica on Friday 01/27 (ordered 01/23), been playing with it since and everything is perfect! can't be happier.

I just filed a claim with Chase this morning and submitted similar documents... hope to get the fruit soon!

Next is to look through other posts for calibration settings!

Cheers

I got hit with the same updated G6 pricing. I called yesterday and found one in stock nearby for 2999. Called on my way to the store today and it was 5999. They said no one there remembered it being there for the cheaper price.

Anyone in the middle of trying to get one from the sketchy online retailers? EBUY is now 1,639 for 65B6, even with extra for shipping and any other strange up-sells it could still potentially be a sweet deal. My next move is probably to wait for echo and optics to bring it back down to 2399 and do a price protection, although my credit card only price protects $250 unfortunately.

Is there an easy way to find a Best Buy selling the B6 65 for $2400? I went to the Best Buy near my house. The Magnolia guy confirmed that some Best Buy stores are selling it for $2400 to get rid of them but his store is charging regular price. He did not know which stores were. I am in the Houston area and there are about 25+ Best Buy stores. I am calling the nearby ones.

Anyone know of an easy way to find stores selling it for the discounted price?

Since you also have an E6, just wanted to ask you if you had received 2 remotes or just 1? There's a mixed reviews on this so I'm not sure... I only got the elongated magic remote one.

This one review said there's 2 remotes came with it (see attached image)

I also only received the elongated magic remote. It is my understanding (based on the owners thread) that only the European E models come with the secondary remote.

Nobody else has dropped to that price, it does make you wonder why they did. Although 4500 for a G7 is still a big cut. Could be they wanted to dump them quickly instead of competing with everyone, if so it appears it worked.

The W7's are available for preorder for the $7999 that the G6 was selling for. The C7 price is $3999, only 1k more than the C6. I have to believe the prices for the 6 series are going to have to drop soon.

Hello all, not complaining or anything but how are the reputable sellers like Echo & Optics/Ielectronica able to sell the OLEDs for such a reduced price?

They're not "authorized" by Lg which means that they don't have to adhere to their standardized pricing...Just goes to show you how much markup there is on these TVs...

I keep wondering the same thing. EbuyUSA has th 65E6P for $2035! Even with the $250 extra shipping they want to bang you for it's still crazy low compared to others (and actually right where my budget is). Other than shady upselling, it does seem that people do get a completely functional TV in the process. So for me it's either take the risk or not get anything. Being a 3D lover though I'm feeling pressured to act before they are gone.

Couple a days away from Eastcoast delivery, just waiting for the call to setup drop off time.
Order on 1/18, refused all up sell options, price was $1895. at check out another $10 was removed. It would have been cheaper if I used the code, but required a check or money order to be sent in which wasn't happening. So final price for my 65c6p, $1885.

ebay compensated them $150 on each panel sold ...... ( during the sale prices of $1499 ) .... for the 55" B series.

I was told this by phone when I called each vendor last week.

There's a similar remote for the G6 that can be had on eBay for about $20, but don't buy it, because it won't work. The E6 will only work with the large 'premium' remote. Additionally, the B/C/EF/EG remotes won't work either.

Was ready to do Cleveland AV. (Went to Best Buy during my lunch to look at things again, probably a bad idea).

Saw that Echo and Optics just had the 55"E for 1899. That was cheaper then what Cleveland quoted me last week so I pulled the trigger on ebay.
I did to the 2 year warranty for $75. (I was charged tax on a warranty?) Hopefully things work out. My Credit card was declined when paying that much for the TV. Had to go back and pay for it again.

I guess Chase does allow price protection on buy now ebay items?

You would think Credit Card companies would start to go after some of these shady websites that keep costing them money.

I sure hope that they don't wise up to the price protection trend we are setting with these TVs. I'm hoping to buy a 65E6P in the next six months . Hopefully by that time, I can find one for $2500.

- Invoice from Cleveland AV (shows model #, billing info, and price)
- Confirmation email from Cleveland AV (shows card # & price)
- Credit Card statement (shows card # & price)... probably overkill
- Printed Web Page of East Coast TV's LG OLED65E6 (showing header & footer with URL and date info)
On 1/24/17 - Received Approval of Credit Card Price Protection Claim
On 1/26/17 - Check of $500 (maximum allowance) was administered

LG OLED65E6 TOTAL PRICE = $3,150 - $500 = $2,650!
Thanks for this info. I think I will apply for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card you mentioned and use the price protection for purchasing from my local Best Buy. I saw where East Coast Tvs has the the 65C6 for $2148 so that would be the one I could claim against. Thanks again.

Edit: I just found out that the Chase card you mentioned has a $450 annual fee so I will have to find some other card.

Yeah nothing is free :-) Though that annual fee gets you a lot of perks if you travel a lot. $300 of that comes back to you in travel credits. Plus they have a 100,000 point signing bonus, which I just translated to $1500 in plane tickets.
