But if what you say is correct, then this is a great option for those who want to get warranty cheap from a non authorized LG seller.
I bought from Cleveland Plasma and also bought the Costco Square Trade warranty. On Costco's site it does indeed say "any authorized US retailer". (Nothing about LG authorized) However and more importantly, no where in the fine print does the word "authorized" appear. There is a thread here somewhere where this is discussed at length. The fine print that was sent to me is the "legal" document. $90 for three years AFTER the LG warranty expires = four (4) years. You can scroll down on the Costco page and click on the details for the fine print.

Actually, I am not a Costco member so it cost me $5.00 more (total in cart at checkout when you don't provide member info).

Hah ok. I do wonder if it would come to be an issue if it does come to a warranty claim where they go into the finer details and deny the warranty based on that.

Anyhow, yes the $5 more even though not costco member makes it pretty worthwhile.

Thanks for the info! Didn't know that.

Asking since I got the C7 for $2500 and when put in $2500 as the retail price, my warranty quote shows up as $35 for 1 year, $71 for 2 years and $172 for 3 years.

Obviously not as great as the square trade warranty from costco which comes to $90 for 3 years.
Yeah, I would put the price you paid (and that matches the receipt or purchase order), since if it ever comes down to a warranty claim, they'll likely reference that + the date to determine coverage options.
I don't know if they'll cover tax or shipping, but I just put in the total out-the-door price because that's what my receipt shows.

Any reason why Cleveland plasma is not considered an authorized retailer? I was thinking of ordering from them but that fact makes me hesitate and especially if I happen to make a warranty claim.

The consensus seems to be that "Authorized Dealers", Best Buy, Costco, Fry's, etc. are under some type of obligation to sell LG's products at a certain "advertised" price. I'm guessing that in exchange for that they supply large quantities at a reduced wholesale cost which increases the profit margins. But LG also obviously sells to many other "unauthorized" dealers, maybe at a higher price? These dealers, such as CP, don't have the overhead of the big box stores and can still make money selling at a much lower cost.

The LG written warranty says nothing about only covering TVs sold at "authorized" dealers. That doesn't stop the big box dealers from BS-ing you into buying from them. The LG warranty covers new TVs for one (1) year regardless of whether the dealer is authorized or not. I bought my 65C7 from Cleveland Plasma and it has a full LG warranty and there are many others on this forum who have done the same.

Next question is has anyone been denied a warranty claim from such sellers?

Go to page #1 of this thread and scroll down. Lot of talk about authorized sellers and at least one member that successfully filed a claim...

If you get the Squaretrade costco warranty and you didn't buy the tv from costco check your end date for your warranty and make sure its 4 years from purchase date. I had to fight them tooth and nail to get it corrected on mine. They had applied it starting from the purchase date originally and the phone reps didn't believe me no matter what proof i gave them.

Eventually I had the lady read my contract back to me over the phone and then they fixed it.

So I bought my c7 from Beach haven't even opened it yet...is the consensus to buy the Squaretrade warranty from Costco at $90 or is the LG warranty at $170+ for 3 yrs a better option even though more expensive

LG warranty service is provided by a third party, read the fine print. Save $80 and go with Square Trade. They have a solid track record.

What about the issue of not purchasing it from Costco? When I register with ST is that going to be a problem since it says must be bought at Costco

You can buy the ST warranty from Costco for any display not sold by Costco within 30 days of purchase. Just keep both receipts or register on line.

I bought from 65C7 from Cleveland Plasma and then bought the ST warranty from Costco. Nowhere does it say you have to buy TV from Costco...

The picture should be identical. The only real difference is it's mounted on clear glass and I don't believe it has a bezel. But the image will be identical.

For those who've bought from Beach or other online sellers, how's your TV quality? I hear about some picky folks returning multiple sets due to the "TV lottery." The idea of swapping sets with an online seller sounds like a major pain vs going to Best Buy.

LG, Best Buy, and Crutchfield have all raised the price of the 55 inch C7 by $200 from the 4th of July prices last week. And the 65 inch seems to have been increased by $500.

I can't imagine the "TV Lottery" (buying a TV and hoping you get one of the "good" panels") being played at online sellers. Most online sellers that I have seen make you pay about $200 for return shipping and then add a 15% restocking fee ($380 on a $2500 purchase) bringing the cost to $580 for every returned TV! No, the TV Lottery game must be played at BB / Costco / Fry's / Etc who offer free returns...

I just ordered from Beach today. $2600. I will try to price protect for $500 more if possible, and will add the Costco Squaretrade. Though it seems some people have done a couple hundred dollars better, I am off the deal-obsession merry-go-round now. Thanks for all the help. Peace out as I lurk on the Owners Forum!

Another vote for Chris from Cleveland Plasma (great guy to deal with).

However, I did pay $3300 for just the TV a little over a month ago.... A grand less in a month! Who woulda thunk it! I feel kinda bad.

But Chris is a great guy. Totally trustworthy.

I'm also curious about this. I'm going to purchase a C7 soon and I would like to order from Beach or Cleveland Plasma, but I am worried about getting a bad screen. Will the warrany cover a replacement?

I bought from Chris @ Cleveland Plasma. Got a 65E7, March 2017 build. No issues. I'd go with Chris just because he's an enthusiast like us & is a great guy.

Cleveland Plasma's price is often within $500 of Cliff's Deals, and Chris is a far more reliable online vendor than Beach Camera, so that is what I did (ended up getting a 65C6P for an effective price of $1950 late last year ).

If CP's price is much over $500 more than CDs, it's usually just a matter of lag time.

Never dealt with Beach Camera so have no comment on how they are to deal with, but CP is a joy to deal with. I had my TV in my living room three days after I purchased it at a price that was better than all but the shadiest of outfits.

Beach Camera is absolutely reliable... as is Cleveland Plasma.
