And now five-star-buy has the LG OLED 65C8P at $2049.

Except for a few (reported) short term Sunday 'call in' deals I missed, $2049 is the lowest price I've seen for this model, new.

Still $49.00 more than I'm willing to pay, though!

pstaz, that is tough price to resist.

I've come to the conclusion that with other budget items, a 77" is not in the cards.

(Can't cost the link since my post count is not high enough)

Anyone have any experience with ordering from them? I was gonna wait till BF to see if prices will go down a little bit more for the LG C8 77" but it looks like the online price is $4999. I put a bid in for $4500 on Greentoe and they countered with $5000, I then countered with $4700, hoping I can get lower than the $5000 price.

You guys think the 77" will go down lower closer to BF? Or should I try calling into Beach Camera/BuyDig?
Best Buy only matches against select retailers. Abe's of Maine is considered one of the bait and switch sellers, having said that Greentoe has already matched that price. Might as well wait another week or two for BF and Cyber Monday to see what comes up.

Thanks for the heads-up, I definitely won't order from Abes of Maine! I used to order camera stuff years ago from them but I guess they changed, I thought they were legit. I'll wait and see what Greentoe counters with, hopefully as BF gets nearer, a deal might pop up.

Amazing. I feel like for bb $200 is close enough for them to match, but for the 65” its $600 difference, $2699 vs 2099 current best greentoe.

My parents are looking to get a 55C8. Unless the discounters lower their prices more right now it's looking like the Costco deal ($1650 with Square Trade Warranty) is within $50 of being the best deal out there. For $50 it's not worth the hassle of driving across town to find a better deal let alone purchase mail order. I think I'll wait another day to see what discounters do then help my parents pick up a 55C8...either at Costco or Video Only if the discounters will lower their price another $150 or so.

For me I'm holding out for a 75", the 77" would require that I spread my speakers out another 1.5" on each side which I'd prefer not to do, the 77" is also out of my price range. Unless my Kuro dies I'll continue to wait.

Cheers,

OPPO UDP-205, LG OLED65C8, OPPO BDP-93, Pioneer Kuro Pro-150FD, Dynaudio 2x BM-12a Mk III Mains, 2x BM 6a Mk II surround, 2x BM 14s Subs, Allan and Heath MixWizard, room is 11'7"x 16'6"x 8" dedicated and treated. Tripp-Lite UPSs/power conditioners (because my power isn't as clean as it used to be)

Best Buy will offer 10% off and 24 month interest free financing with Best Buy Credit Card starting this Saturday.

E8 - $3199 less $320(10%) = $2880 ...There 5 year warranty is $700 but covers burn in and even 3 dead pixels gets replaced.

C8 - $2699 less $270 = $2430

Costco $2697 less $108(4%) = $2589 including 7 year warranty if you use Costco CitiCard
Costco price based on getting 4% cash back at end of year with CitiCard and they are including SquareTrade with all oleds

BJ's members: LG OLED55C8AUA 55" 4K OLED TV $1,349.99

In-club price is $1,349.99

Online price is $1,649.99, but choose pick-up in store if ordering online for the in-club prices:

https://www.bjs.com/product/lg-oled5...00000001275753

It even shows it on website. Guess those prices are going to come down more than we thought.

This is a HUGE move,

No the 65 is still 2600

Any idea if that is a strait up 10% off, or is instead 10% back in rewards/

You called Beach and got the 65E8 deal for $2200 or you switched to the 65C8 for $2200?
Beach usually does the Sunday deal @ $2099 for the 65C8 so just curious.

Sorry but a friend of mine is gonna do this deal, so I am not sure. If I had to guess, it's likely rewards for use at BB.

Just pulled the trigger on the C8, from Greeentoe. Would be interested to hear as well what AVR brands /models folks really happy with, in particular to improve upscaling quality.
I will be leaving my dinosaur AVR-less (but decent quality ) sound system as is so i really want to understand benefits of AVR for the purpose of upscaling picture quality only.

I too would be interested to hear about others AVR choice to match the 65” C8...I’ve been looking at the new Denon 3500... thoughts?

I’m also a recent greentoe purchaser this past Sunday and waiting for shipment. When it arrives how should I test the unit? This is my first time taking delivery of a TV through an online purchase. Thanks!

I've been talking to Greentoe customer service and they mentioned that Beach/Buydig will be pushing the B8 this upcoming BF. Don't know what this means for the C8, as that is what I'm looking at. They say the C8 is gonna stay those prices that's been out lately. I was hoping for a $4500 C8 77" for BF, but it looks like it's not happening.

I was going to get the 55C8 from the Costco Deal (about $1,800 w/ tax) because it had a 5-year warranty, but ended up going with the Beach Camera for $1,449 on the 55C8, as well as $2,099 for a 65C8. Believe the 55E8 was $1,497 and the 65E8 was $2,249. Need to add tax to those.

The BJ’s deal seems like a ploy for memberships, they are literally OOS everywhere (55C8).

Been lurking on this thread for awhile but just decided to register. Tempted to go with the eBay C8 deal from five-star-buy for $2049. Plus, you get $20 in ebay bucks and with eBates, you get another $40 back. That brings the price down to $1,989 if you include reward points (+credit card rewards).

@Dexman , the seller seems legit with 1900+ positive feedback... I may go for it as well.

(Side note - I haven't seen much talk about eBates, which is a really great rewards program. Shameless plug for my referral link ebates.com/r/RWILSO494?eeid=28187. Its just a Chrome extension and it gives you a percent back if the sites utilize it. In this case, eBay gives 2%, BB gives 1%, etc).

Sorry to double (triple) post here. I bit the bullet on the ebay deal. Ebay was also running a promo that was 8% ebaybucks (maxed at $100). So I bought it for $2049, with $40 back from ebates and $100 back from ebay. Was tempted to wait for black friday, but it's the best deal Im going to find I think. I will let you know how the seller is Dexman

To my knowledge the warranty is on the product itself. If there are defects you would contact LG directly. Could be wrong tho.

I'm not aying you wouldn't get service from LG - but keep in mind what they post on their own website about unauthorized sellers. I know some of the eBay sellers offer warranties on top. There's a little risk involved with eBay sellers. The warranty or not has been subject to debate before on AVS.

Warranty - LG Electronics Inc. only provides warranty services for products purchased from Authorized Resellers. Products purchased from unauthorized resellers are not subject to warranty services. Before buying an LG product, please review the list below to find an authorized LG Electronics Inc. dealer where you can make a purchase.

Just enjoy it and don't look at slides! Really though, if you see any problems then maybe check slides but otherwise I wouldn't. Just avoid static logos and try to stick to alternating material for the first 100-200 hours or so is the general consensus.

At delivery time, I would check the box doe any rips, tears etc and note it before signing. Also, I always make sure the device powers up...most delivery guys will wait or help you do this.

As for the AVR, I just bought a Denon X3400H since honestly there is no real difference between it and the 3500...I believe the only difference is Auto Low Latency mode, which I think is something that just tells all the components to switch to game mode when gaming. The 3400 also has eARC as of a recent firmware update. And the 3400 can be had for far less.

I don't have a LG warranty to quote from but I think you'll find similar language - effective from the date of original consumer purchase of the product. Confirmation the set is made for the US market - effective only when used in the US . I doubt you'll find a statement requiring the purchase from an authorized dealer. I could be wrong but it would be the first time.

Perhaps someone with a warranty document that came with their LG TV will be able to provide the complete language and settle this concern.

You can see I own 2 LGs- so no need to hunt to see if similar language is there. Don’t want to be responsible for you being wrong for the first time
Only on AVS.
Again, this has been debated, and something to be aware of if you go the unauthorized route. You may be okay, you may not. Besides, how many have a problem, I’ve had one warranty claim in 37 years of owning high-end displays - Sony Triniton being the first back in college. Besides if you hunt there are some similar deals from those who are authorized.

There is no perfect display, quit looking for faults and enjoy
