Looks like I need to get educated.
I've always had great confidence in Costco and their warranties.
I understand square trade is a separate company.
As most of us know, more people post unsatisfied reviews than good reviews. Take a look at the costco.com reviews for square trade and theres quite a few cases where they were 1) flat out rejected on the claim. 2) clearly inferior replacement tv or 3) just awful to work with. Theres one where costco and squaretrade just point fingers at each other and the customer got nothing in the end.

If I were to guess their good reputation is from their pre allstate days.

Check slickdeals, these prices are not even close to the lowest available.

Right, you get better pricing from Greentoe (BuyDig, Beach, etc)

But these are by far the best and lowest advertised prices so far - which is good news.

Shopping List:
TV: Samsung Q90R, or LG C9, or Sony ...
Blu-ray: Panasonic UB820, or Sony X800M, or Pioneer Elite LX500
Soundbar: Samsung Q90R, or Sennheiser Ambeo, or...
AVR and Speakers: Marantz 8012, or... and GE Triton Reference, or...

i think most of us are aware. It does appear to be an amazon only sale since the other MAP retailers do not appear to be matching, which means its not an official price drop sadly for those waiting for the 65 C8 to drop below the magic 2k number

Saw the current Amazon price on the 65" models and went to SD and came here to see how good it was since I've only recently started researching prices.

My question for any willing to help, if I'm not in a rush to buy at BF but would like to get a new TV in the next month or two, what's lowest realistic price we'll see on the B8/C8 from an authorized dealer? I'm ok with 2,399 but I'm def. willing to wait if it's going to continue to go down a couple hundred dollars more by the end of the year. I'm working with an 11 year old TV so I've been patient this long

Maybe this is a bit optimistic, maybe I’m being greedy, but I’m holding onto hope that we’ll see a B8 or C8 available for ~$2000 from one of Greentoe’s authorized dealers at some point over the next two months.

(I’ve had my plasma for 8 years, and I’m willing to wait, too..)

I'm just learning about Greentoe. So they're basically function as a broker/intermediary kinda like Priceline did with airfare way back when they first started? Since you enter your price and I'm guessing retailers aren't going to take some low ball offer, say 1800 for a 65" C8, what happens next? They counter with something more than you/I want to spend and you can just walk away? Sorry for the dumb questions but like I said I just saw the service today so I'm trying to figure it out on my own but also asking people who have experience since they're better informed than I am.

Thanks

I have yet to use the service, but that’s pretty much my impression. If they meet your initial offer, you’re obligated to pay, but you can walk away if you don’t like the counteroffer.

(If I’m wrong, someone please correct me..)

Wound up getting the 77C8 today from Best Buy price matched from Amazon for 5799.
It shot back up after I did it so right under the gun.
I know I can get it cheaper from other sites but I needed the 24 month financing. Delivery is not for a month so plenty of time for better deals to come along.

So on Camelcamelcamel I can see a price of $2400 on amazon for the 65 C8. If I go to Amazon itself, I still see a price of $2700 and don't see anything about 10% off. How do I get this deal? Did I miss it?

Got the 77” from Beach Camera for $5000. They wouldn’t go any lower, salesperson was telling me that LG just doesn’t make much of it for them to go down any lower in price. They said if it was the 65”, you can negotiate more since there’s more of it. Also they said the 77” is delivered by a truck service and not fedex, and that shipping is normally $385 for a tv that size.
Hopefully everything is good when it delivers and that I get a good panel. Anything I should do or be on the lookout for when I get it? Like run any test patterns? I don’t really like doing that as it just becomes me obsessing to find a problem lol. But any advice is helpful, thanks!

Do you still see this offer? I'm going to be so mad if I missed it.

sorry, looks like it's gone. 65" C8 back up to $2,700 and i don't see the 10% anymore either. looks like Amazon got hammered b/c now it says only 7 left in stock (and from a third-party seller, earlier the sale was direct from Amazon). seems maybe they were just trying to clear out some inventory.

Thanks

I tried greentoe a few times, lowball offers not really expecting much. Was curious to see if I got any counter offers. Never got any, but did receive an email a week or two after my bids from the “ceo” saying to place a bid of $2049 for the 65” C8 on the following Monday, and it would be accepted if they still had inventory. I had just purchased one from Best Buy when I got the email, so I didn’t try.

Best Buy price matches until January for the holidays as well, though only major retailers.

It only dropped for a couple of hours.
I missed out. Had it in my cart but didn't pull the trigger in time. 😣

Perhaps I misremembered.

Hey all - I've managed to snag a deal for a C8 65 on Greentoe for 2099!

As far as I'm aware, that's a crazy good deal. Any thoughts? Any way to reduce that a bit further one way or another, or is that as good as it gets?

Edit: Additionally, any recommendations on extended warranties?

i think 2049 was the best tax free from buydig/beach camera.

However (still kicking myself for missing it) earlier today newegg official had it for 1900 (during dinner) and by the time I checked it was sold out. So depending on your tax you could either pay less or more than the price you paid. The main thing is that this the only deal AFAIK that bestbuy has pricematched in the last month or so. But if you missed that brief window they wouldnt match it at all apparently.

Ah, crap. I guess that would be the best if I wanted burn-in warranty protection and wanted it immediately. I think Best Buy with NY sales tax might be a bit more than the 2100 even at 1900.

I'll try to give BuyDig and Beach Camera a ring and see if they'll give it to me for 2049.

Anything 2100 and under is an absolute steal as far as I'm concerned!

Sooo the real question is if the E8 will be next at newegg. $2100 or less e8 would be nice.

Well...I just bought a 65C8 from Video only for $2100 (for myself) and a Pioneer Elite receiver VSX-LX303 for $470, for my parents.

I'll pick it up tomorrow.
Now what to do with the plasma...

Cheers,

OPPO UDP-205, LG OLED65C8, OPPO BDP-93, Pioneer Kuro Pro-150FD, Dynaudio 2x BM-12a Mk III Mains, 2x BM 6a Mk II surround, 2x BM 14s Subs, Allan and Heath MixWizard, room is 11'7"x 16'6"x 8" dedicated and treated. Tripp-Lite UPSs/power conditioners (because my power isn't as clean as it used to be)

65 C8 was this price yesterday at newegg, I suspect that this price will come back sometime during black friday/cyber monday.
