But what made this deal INSANE is that there's a certain cash back site that is owned by Rakuten (not sure if I can mention the site on here) that offered me 30% cash back for shopping at rakuten. I went through the cash back site, which linked me to rakuten, and bought the 65C8 brand new. With the 30% cash back, my total cost at the end is $1,512!
Is this a legit transaction? I dont see anything close to this on Ebates. Like not even on the same planet. If you really got this deal, I will hold out.

WOW

BuyDig (link for reference) has as an Call-in Order: 65" Sony XBR-65A8F 4K UHD HDR Smart Bravia OLED HDTV (2018 Model) on sale for $2299 when you call 800-617-4686 Ext. 1 and mention the price of $2299. Shipping is free.

I know this is the LG thread and I have an LG, but if priced similarly I would have definitely got the Sony. At this price I would go A8F over C8 unless C8 under 2K

77C8PUA ~ Media room
75XBR900F ~ Game room
55XBR900E ~ Bedroom

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like Greentoe and Massdrop are the best options for a 65'' B8 under $2000 right now? Leaning toward Greentoe?

The B&H deal is also very appealing, but even without tax I'd pay about $50 more with them than through Greentoe.

I should also mentioned I'm a total newb when it comes to Greentoe and Massdrop...
I had a great experience with Greentoe on my 65E8. Great price, communication and quick shipping.

Best buy has the B8 in store at 1999 plus 24 months free financing. No explanation for why it's 300 less than the website price.

So 150 more than Greentoe and 100 more than Massdrop but I get to buy locally and the 24 months is pretty good. I grabbed one.

It sold out a few moments I made my order.

You need to sign up with ebates and be logged in to see the ~30% cash back from rakuten.

My order is still in the processing stage and the charge is pending on my credit card. Hopefully it goes through in the next business day. Ebates says that the seller (Electronic Express) has to inform Rakuten that the order had gone through successfully first before the cash back can be honored.

There are others that placed their order yesterday and received an email from EE today that their order was cancelled due to either payment info, paypal verification, shipping address, or international IP address. Not sure exactly why theirs were cancelled but I hope mine goes through.

For those that are looking for a 55" C8, EE has 10 more on Rakuten for $1,696.99. Apply coupon code SAVE15 and get 15% off at checkout. Assuming you are not taxed and you have the 30% ebates cash back, total cost will be $1,190.

I’m not seeing anything close to 30 percent ebates rebates.

Are you signed in on ebates? What percent do you see? As I mentioned before, some people are getting different percent cash back.

Was it open box? Any link available? That is exactly the kind of deal I've been hoping for from BB, but I don't see anything less than $2299 for the B865 right now.

Brand new. Go to the store. Magnolia rep said sometimes in store can be lower. They were as surprised as I was.

It looks like the OLED65B8PUA is on sale in-store at Best Buy for $1,999.99. I went in today at lunch and noticed the price had changed and they said it changed after Sunday's weekly ad. I don't see the same price reflected on the website but it was right there on the sticker in the store.

They didn't have the C8 on the floor but they said it's still the same price as online.

The salesman said it would remain that price until next Sunday and he didn't know whether the price would go back up or go further down but they do have a 15 day price change window thingy where if it did go down more you could come back and get the difference. Also said you can take another $200 off if you sign up & pay for it with a Best Buy credit card if it matters- 0% interest rate for 24 months or just pay it off and cancel the card. So basically instead of $2,299.99 you could get it at $1,999.99 or $1,799.99 depending on your options. plus tax, that is.

That sounds like a better deal than gambling with the online warehouse, unauthorized dealer, multiple signup, promo code hoopla, personally.

The only thing the salesman said was different between the C8 & B8 was that the C8 supports Dolby Atmos whereas the B8 does not- but that doesn't sound right according to the spec sheets on LG's site.

edit- I got the TV. The guy had it wrong about the credit card deal so it was 1,999. Still felt worth it :/

55" c8

After many days of browsing ..... I found WaltsTV in AZ thru the LG authorized list. I also noticed them on ebay.

55' C8 price was quoted to me over the phone, $1558. They have 200+ in stock, the same amount of B8 also, but cost less at $1425. I'm also told about six store returns, some boxes may be rough shape, but the units are inspected by their techs prior to be "listed" at a mark down. Full 1 yr warranty, they have been in biz for 40 yrs, LG authorized. No taxes to my state, free shipping by Fed Ex.

Email today : ( If its Fedex they will most likely double box it ) . We shall see.

Per request ... I have 3 pics from their shipping office, to compare upon its delivery - the box looks perfect. If any issues come up, to contact them immediately. I expect no surprises. In the past decade I bought 4 KURO, my dads B6, then my B6 last July - no surprises from any of those deliveries.

My price for the "returned" 55" C8 is $1402. Citi Simplicity told me about a 5% cash back on any purchase up too $100 total for the month. I'll get $70 cash back, my final price will be $1332. Since this is listed as B Grade on the receipt ..... I doubt that I will be able to compare it to another lower listing online for a Cash Rewind from CITI (?) CITI will also extend the factory warranty 2 additional years. We have had ZERO issues with our B6 models.

On my B6 - I got a $370 rewind for a $1100 price. Now the limit is $200 .

This forum is a helpful source, thanks to all who share info.

eBay has 24 months financing through PayPal today. An eBay seller has the B8 for 1899. No tax to pa. That would be 220 less than the Best Buy price over the weekend. Trying to decide if I should cancel Best Buy and go with this. I like being able to physically return the tv but that’s a significant savings.

That's a great deal. I'd just make sure it's an authorized seller. I've been scammed in the past on a 400 smart phone on swappa- I don't know how I'd feel about a scam costing that much more.

In my case, the physical store situation was beneficial. I bought the 65B8 last night and after a couple of hours I decided it's way too much TV for me. Coming from a 46" Samsung LCD to 65" OLED monstrosity is too much for my senses. It'd be great for movie night or game day but not like 4 hours of random shows. Plus I like watching with subtitles on and when I do it's like the room gets twice as bright because it really wants to show you how white it can get.

You may be the first guy ever to say that, LOL!

Plus TV's (among other things) have a way of "shrinking" when you get used to the size. No pun intended.

Yeah. I was griping about it last night. I might give it a few days but I don't know. I also saw that you can change the subtitles for Netflix's website to have some transparency- though I don't know if that translates to the TV apps. I set it to yellow text with black background and transparency on.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of. Not only that but i don't sit on top of the tv either, probably 2X's the recommended distance.

Looks like $1899 is still the best of the best on the B8 65 right now. I am down to: (1) $1899 on massdrop; (2) sticking with BestBuy at $1999 plus tax or (3) taking a 65C8 for $2099. Opinions are welcome.

One thing I will say is the B8 seems pretty dang sufficient. If there is a difference between the processors between the B8 & C8 I would imagine it would be moot when all of the calibration recommendations on the various websites suggest turning off so many of the post-processing features (dyamic contrast, motion blur, etc.) Basically, I wouldn't think the processor in either would be taxed if it's not using all of its features- but that's just my armchair thought.

As for the size thing, well, if I stick with the 65" or maybe settle on the 55" the quality was fantastic. I have cat5e cable from my router to my TV and upgraded my Netflix to the UHD plan last night while watching Punisher. Initially the show had a little HD label and then it switched its quality label to something else (I can't remember) and when I started playing it a little msg popped up saying the TV switched to Dolby Vision. The picture was already good and then it went to ultra crisp and the colors were great. I can't see how much better a C8 could be compared to the B8.

I am struggling with this. They guys in the b8 v c8 thread swear the c8 is much better but I have the feeling there 200 is just a waste of money. There is no real future proofing to the c8. Seems like a money burn.
