Seems like Greentoe is accepting a lot of $2,049 offers for the 65" C8.

I tried to buy the 65C8 off Greentoe for $2049, they emailed me saying the retailer charges sales tax so they countered me at $2049 + sales tax of ~$190....

I probably would have grabbed this one at 2049. I picked up my B8 at Best Buy already and there’s no way I’m returning it absent a problem. Just a beast to maneuver. Very satisfied with PQ. For an extra 50 the C8 is a no brainer however. With a little luck, the B8 will fall below the price I paid before my price match expires.

New Jersey State sales tax is why I took a pass on GT last year. Had an email exchange with a manager type and he said they have providers in several states. I responded - likely not for TVs. His non responsive execuspeak spoke volumes.

I think, therefore I am single.

Yep same issue here. They are competing with other retailers that do not charge tax. The sales tax situation is a mess. Some charge; some don’t. I agree that they must be pairing with a single tv provider because they insisted on tax to pa but apparently not California? If I’m going to pay tax, I might as well buy at a local brick and mortar. I do think they had good support. They emailed me several times and I told them flat out their prices plus tax just were not competive. A site like that only works if it’s price is the absolute lowest.

Do you do earny at all? I signed up over there last year and have had a few BB purchases come back with price drops. They send you the full text and a link to go to the chat bot for submitting a price match request. Copy and paste and done in ~10 seconds. Easy to get the lowest prices. Hoping this comes through for the B8! Also super happy with the PQ, but wouldn't mind a little cash back

There is a lot of debate in here about the pq versus the B8 and C8. Interestingly, CNET just tested the Sammie Q9FN and used the B8 as their reference comparison. They specifically stated in the review they used the B8 because they do not believe the improvement in the C8 is worth the extra money. All I can say is if the C8 is better it’s just icing on the cake because B8 is stunning in its own right. I’ll check out what you mentioned.

I think days of skating sales tax are near an end. It has been a nice discount in the past though.

65" E8 is $2249 at newegg - link

I clicked through at checkout all the way to last step and there was no tax charged. I am in Florida fwiw

If it was me I would definitely buy an E8 for the same price. Newegg is no longer an authorized dealer but I doubt that would be an issue if warranty is needed. Newegg's return policy is very good as well, even from 3rd party gameliquidators

Crap, I should have waited another couple days for the E8 newegg deal for $2250. How much better is the E8 than the C8?

Should have same picture quality. Basically the E8 has an upgraded speaker/sound system and a different design with a sheet of glass covering the screen and slightly below it. I can only imaging this adds considerable strength to the panel. As far as the aesthetics, some like it and some don't.

Pulling the trigger on electronics is always a guessing game. Always a better deal the day after I decide it seems. Not worth torturing yourself.

Thanks. Sorry, I have a bad habit of agonizing over recent purchases when better deals pop up. This C8 is pretty amazing so far. I don't care about the sound upgrade because I have a nice receiver and pretty good 5.1 system. Extra panel strength would nice though. This thing seems pretty fragile. Maybe that's just me not being used to such a thin TV? The stand/TV seem a bit wobbly compared to my old TV (55" Hisense H8C), which is to be expected a little because of the bigger size. But I'm kind of scared my cat will knock it over. I should probably just wall mount it. As long as the picture quality is the same as the E8, I'm happy.

I ordered the C8 thru Newegg/Gameliquidations last week Friday. No problem with the order. Yesterday I got a call from Gameliquidatons and they were checking to make sure they had the delivery address correct. Also told me the LG warranty will be good as it's the same TV BB would sell. Said they'd register the tv for me. Lastly told me they couldn't guarantee delivery by Superbowl because the current weather across the midwest and east. All seemed very professional and the kind of service I'd expect from a good company. I was very hesitant prior to ordering from Newegg/Gameliquidations but the phone call has at least for now, tempered my fears.

My B8 is super wobbly. Makes me nervous as well.

Is there a decoder for LG's OLED TVs? I want the PQ, but have a good audio system, so do not care one iota about the TV's sound quality. Wonder which series I should go for.

I run the optical out to my receiver but to can also use hdmi to your receiver. No need to pay for the e8 in tour case.

Received a OLED55E8PUA today from the latest Google Express/BuyDig $1299.00 sale. Fortunately I was home when the FedEx truck pulled into my driveway and out popped a female driver that was slim, trim, and about 5'4" tall. I watched as she struggled with getting the box to the rear of the truck. Visions of her getting the box off the truck delicately, and uphill to my front door was going to be a struggle that my heart could not endure. I immediately went outside and offered, which she graciously accepted, my assistance getting the box off the truck and inside my home. End result, a nice, shiny, scratch free, perfectly working TV for my Master Bedroom. Thanks mrpickem for posting this terrific deal.

They are actually from Beach Camera and are cheaper if you get them from them directly on ebay. They also have the 55" E8 cheap. Both come with an LG one year warranty just like new ones do.

Refurb 55" LG B8 - $1,059

Refurb 55" LG E8 - $1,199

Wouldn't you be worried with refurb OLEDs if there's any possibility of burn in. I know it's a hit or miss, but probability does increase depending on how it was used prior to refurbishing, right?
