Great deal now if we can just get some deals on the 77, supposedly the C9 77 is going to be the same price as the current C8 77.

I don't know Jerry.
Obviously the 77" doesn't sell in the numbers that the 65" does but I doubt they make nearly as many.
Seems the lowest price I saw for the 77" was $3999 a little bit ago and that was only one place and only in store.
I'm no guru but I think the next couple of weeks will tell tale.
I just know that in the past when the deals are done they're bang done over.

Just because I'm a weirdo I checked on the in store Micro Center 77" deal.
They have 25 stores. The Columbus Ohio store has 2 77" in stock.
That's it.
$4,298 out the door

Well, here's the issue, and that is even if remaining 77" go on sale at local stores, it is extremely unlikely to get $2-3k range. It's just not gonna happen, and you can look into any premium TV model whether from Samsung / SONY, you can pick 75Z9D or Z9F etc. Remember that $6999 is not MSRP, the original price was $8999. It's possible that some places like newegg/ebay may offer you a bit cheaper. But it will extreme YMMV type local deal to find this TV under $4k. As you saw the case for Micro center at $3999, I asked them to place an instore order for me, the guy was real nice he called their purchasing department and they said they wont be ordering any of this 77". They are just clearing the stock.
My point is if the next time, it hits $4k from an authorized dealer (if you care) then get it. No one can predict the future, but based on evidences it is very unlikely that LG will drop the price of its premium set 77C8 to anywhere below $4k. And it's also bad brand management, look at SONY they hardly have any deals even now for any of their premium TVs. Now I hope people dont start drawing correlation with price drop for 55 and 65", those are produced in bulk for masses on contrary to 77" that's more for premier market. They dont have as many 77" sitting around.

Sony enforces their MAP assiduously.

True I understand it won't get to the level the 65 is at but I was thinking it will get to $5k or so at the big box store, for the most part what it's selling at on some of the online places now. Maybe when the LG official pricing hits they will cut it one last time.

The official pricing already hit.
Nothing to do with pricing.
Everything to do with inventory

Only pricing I had seen was the B&H Pre-order for $6999 on the C9, the same price as the C8. If that ends up being the case it makes no sense to buy a C8 and to just get the C9. All the stores here in town have plenty of the C8 77 in stock so I don't seeing them not having to drop it some unless LG has some inventory buyback thing with the retailers.

I had to pull the trigger on this deal. Been waiting for the price to drop, and I didn't want to chance the C8 being removed from Costco's site after the deal expires today. Getting the 65" C8 for $1929 with Costco's stellar return policy and a 7-year total warranty (extra 2 years added via Costco Citi CC) is too good a deal to pass up.

When you say local stores have plenty of 77", is that for same day delivery? None of my local stores have for the same day delivery. Usually they get your order for big ticket items and have them shipped either directly from LG or from their distant warehouses. So yes they will certainly say we have it, but almost all of your local BB store will be pointing to the same BB/LG warehouse. When I last checked, most of them said at least 3-4 business days turnaround at BB. In any case, it is likely that prices will drop but it wont be too better than what buydig/newegg is already selling at. And your price target of $5k is also reasonable. I did land up placing my order from BH at $4696 last week, no tax for me. I tried having them pricematch MC but they did not budge saying it was in store only deal. And none of the MC could do place an order for me, saying their purchase department is not ordering any more 77C8 and this deal was to clear current stock.
I hope BH will price adjust if any of local BB stores go on sale under that price in next 30 days. Fingers Crossed

There is still time, I bought my B6 in 2017 May 30th. Fry's had liquidation pricing on any models sill left in their inventory and other stores were price matching or out of stock. I say better deals are still to be had, too much inventory still out there. I'm definitely waiting another 30-60 days.

The best deal I have seen other then the micro center deal is a New Egg flash that just started for $4499, already tried a pricematch in town but no one will do it. Tempting to order this but I have $2k in best buy gift cards I would really like to put towards it.

Wish my Microcenter had stock - they don't even have part setup/no stock in store

FWIW Newegg is not authorized either, but the broad consensus is that it doesn't matter in the least from a warranty coverage perspective.

Do I need to purchase through a verified LG reseller to get warrantees? Are non-uniform displays covered under warranty if there is banding?

Still on the fence for a C9, looks like I missed all the C8 sales this weekend lol.

I did a lot of research over the weekend and I think I'll wait for Black Friday and get C9; better image processing, future-proof a bit with eARC, VRR and HDMI 2.1.
Great overview
B&H listing puts it at $3.5K, so it's likely to drop to $2.5 or more by then.

If you Google search the LG E8 55" it shows up through Google shopping for $1379 at BuyDig. My wife purchased this last night but when searching the item number listed on BuyDig's website it comes up as a refurb for Beach Camera on Ebay despite no where on BuyDig's product listing does it say refurbished. I called to cancel the order this morning and the customer service rep insisted it's not a refurb. We cancelled anyway but thought I'd share our experience in case anyone is considering or willing to take the risk.

I would grab a closeout on this year's model rather than wait for black Friday sales over 8 months away.
