if you buy through Ebay it should be fine. You may not want to buy from their site directly.

Nothing special, I just asked 4 different reps if they could make an exception and price match Newegg, one finally agreed.

$1899 + $450 warranty = $2543 OTD, pick up tonight. 15 day return no restocking fee.

Edit: No pick up tonight unfortunately, I'll snag it on Sunday though, no biggie.
I wish they could do that for 77C8. I guess the price difference of $2-3k+ is something that they cannot digest.

I had that exact same experience on getting them to match the New Egg flash deal on the 77. I'm thinking prices will drop over the weekend to be more inline with the web prices.

First post here, but just wanted to mention that I picked up the 55" B8 at Best Buy (NYC, Union Sq) on Saturday for $1109. I have a tax exempt card, so that was the total paid. Delivery would have been only by Friday, so I took it with me (two young children helping with carrying duties), and managed to squeeze it into a cab (for the record, it fits in the seating area of one of the tall minivan style yellow cabs, with about a quarter inch to spare on either side!).

Was shocked to see it has gone back up to 1599 today! I had tried the BB on 86th and Lex on Saturday, and they had none in stock. They had only 3 in Union Sq. I'm v glad now that I went down there straight away.

V pleased with it so far, but found our first movie (Instant Family on Amazon Prime) very disconcerting until I calibrated and switched off the TruMotion, which gives the horrible SOE. Also makes programmes like Modern Family look appalling.

Even the kids appreciate the black levels, after having had a 10 year old Sony 1080 (which is still pretty decent, despite its vintage). One of the best things I've watched so far is a simple 4k demo on Youtube of street scenes from NYC (on video). Definitely like looking through a window.

I'm now wondering whether a UHD Bluray player is worth it, or whether to stick to Apple/Amazon Fire /Netflix?

Not surprising at all if you've been following pricing strategies since Black Friday.
When you see the deal that fits your budget, you have to strike immediately like you did

AFA a disc player it all comes down to content & quality.
If online services meet your needs & quality requirements, why bother with a UHD player?

I’m having that physical media debate myself. On one hand the physical media has the highest possible quality, on the other hand the $150-$200 could buy a lot of streaming titles.

What about the cost of UHD discs?

Quality; a good friend of mine has a state of the art theater room with a 120" screen.
He said that he could not find any issues, none, with true 4k content with an Apple 4k.
Believe me, if there were any issues whatsoever he would notice them.

Yeah, I would only bother with discs if there is a significant quality improvement. In reality, I haven't touched a Bluray or DVD in years, as streaming is just so convenient. But I'm curious to know how good UHD discs would look on the OLED.

Depends on the disc. Plus I'm pretty sure that Atmos isn't available via streaming if that is important.
Most importantly for all viewing is having your set calibrated by a pro.

It is, but only encoded within DD+ (no lossless encoding with TrueHD).

I'm new to the forum, and I'm interested in a 65-inch C8. I've seen some really low prices recently, and I'm wondering whether the prices are so low that I should be suspicious about a potential scam. Here's what I've found:

HDAVPRO: $1329

ABC TVS: $1299

Welcome! You are wise to be suspicious. Those sites are on the long list of scam/bait and switch sites. Stay far away!

Thanks. That confirms my suspicions, but I love a good deal so much I had to at least check.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 77" C8. Got an accepted offer of $4,499 on Greentoe from an authorized dealer (I know some don't care about that). I have been watching prices for awhile and I'm sure it is going to go down a little more, but not a material difference and I didn't want to miss out when inventory runs out. Replacing a 60" Kuro that has been very good to me for several years.

What price did you show them? And how did you go about doing it? Asking for a manager for pricematch?

Yes, I'd be interested in how you got BBY to honor newegg. Different reps in the same store or different stores, via phone or in person. I forgot that their ad runs Sunday thru Saturday and showed up on Sunday to buy and the price had gone back up to $2,799. Telephone support would not honor newegg as fulfilled by other vendor. Interested in C8 at $1899 or E8 at $2249 both on newegg. Have Sony 55 inch AF9 in UK and very happy with it.

Personally I'd never pay someone to calibrate my tv. I adjust the settings based on how I personally like it.

Just letting everyone know I did the buydig deal on the 55" E8 for $1199 and it came flawless. Double boxed, everything worked great. Amazing deal. I'm super pleased. I was apprehensive about buying from them but it all worked out.

except for some deep cuts in the one side of the LG box , I too am very happy with the purchase. Super fast delivery, double boxed, and what a great price on the 55E8. It's back up to the regular price and really did not come down much on other sites. I could have bought 2 for what an order on only one would cost today and still a few bucks left over. Sale said 46% off but was more like over 50%.

There's a brand-new-in-box 65-inch C8 for sale on Craigslist where I live. The seller is asking $1,600. Thoughts on pursuing this (maybe try and talk him down to $1,400 or so)? I'm assuming I wouldn't be able to register the warranty if I buy it from an individual?

Thanks.

Bummed I missed out on the Costco deal for the 65inch C8 last weekend. The Costco price tag is back up to $2799 but in the lower left hand corner they have a small date, 3/17. Wondering if anyone knows what this means? Hoping that is the date when they go on sale again?

I originally picked up an LG OLED65C8 during Black Friday from Costco. Then during Superbowl Greentoe sends me an email that they are accepting offers lower than what I had offered in the past. I changed my offer to 1999.00 and Greentoe accepted. The TV was sold by Beach Camera for 1999.00 flat and it arrived in 4 days. It arrived Double Boxed via FedEx. I thought I had the best deal and then two weeks later I saw the price drop everywhere, but the lowest price I saw was 1799.99 via PC Richard & Son. It's a legit authorized vendor. I submitted a Price Protection claim with Citibank and they approved the $200 difference. Luckily I was able to return my 1st TV to Costco since I was within the end of my 90 day return window. I bought the Squaretrade plan for $100. Overall, I saved $1,000 even with buying the Squaretrade plan from Costco. Not having to pay sales tax made this deal a no brainer and using Price Protection to get the difference was icing on the cake. I thank this forum for letting me know about all the deals.

I did review previous posts but just wanted to find out how the price match had been successfully achieved, by phone or in person and in the same store or different stores which I didn't see referenced in earlier posts.

As stated previously telephone contact didn't work and neither did a later in store contact work so I'm just trying to figure out what has worked and might work for me. I have the neweggflash.com deals for the C8 and E8 saved and ready to use.

Most receipts are not in people's names....

But why would someone be selling a new, in box, TV for so much less than it's "worth"...?

Shopping List:
TV: LG C9/C10, or Samsung Q90R, or Sony ...
Blu-ray: Panasonic UB820, or Pioneer Elite LX500, or Sony X800M
AVR/Pre-pro: Marantz 8805/7705 or 8012, or Yamaha 5200 or 3080
Speakers: GE Triton One.R, or ML ElectroMotion ESL X
