You know... It was one of those "fell of the back of the truck" specials.

There could be any number of reasons.
That's why you have to have face time with the seller & not be weak

So was there a repeat of last weekend's sale prices this weekend?

The big box stores did drop the LG 77" to $6500 but not really much of a deal from where it was. That would mean the C9 77" B&H preorder they have for $6999 must be way off as that's only a $500 difference from the old model.

If there was not a repeat of last weekend's sale, that may mean that most of the 77C8 inventory has flushed. Rumors are that LG will launch the 2019 WOLEDs on March 21st, so they still have another weekend to go...

I don't think the $6999 77C9 price B&H leaked/floated/guessed is likely to stand by the time LG finally announces official pricing - that MSRP makes no sense if LG is serious about gaining 75/77" Premium TV market share when Samsung has launched the 75Q90 at $5000 and the 82Q90 at $6500...

If the % difference between the last 77C8 pricing and the new 77C9 pricing over in Korea holds here in the US, we're looking at a launch MSRP of $5600.

I pulled the trigger on a C8 for $1799 from PC Richards a few weeks ago. Just wanted everyone to know that it was a good experience and the product arrived in perfect shape! The delivery took a little longer than I wanted (About two weeks) but it was worth it for the great price that I got. Now I’m off to the owners forum for some calibration tips! Thanks everyone for all the help and suggestions.

Wow, I wonder what "street prices" would be for the C9 then. I'm betting $5999 is a more realistic MSRP, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

That would be great news but considering the 77 C8 is still $6500 I can't see them launching the C9 for less then that. I do understand they have to compete with the QLED competitive pricing but that seems too low.

Last week the power supply on my 12 year old Pioneer PDP-5070HD finally gave out, so I went price shopping on the LGs. I quickly learned I'd missed the previous weekend's price drop by just one day and then ordered a 55" B8 from New Egg (sold by Game Liquidations) for $1099 + tax on 3/4. It arrived today (3/11) via FedEx - no issues, great picture. Before the plasma died I was planning on holding out until 2019 BF sales but happy to get last years at this price in a pinch.

Is there a forum where people discuss retailers? I'm looking at a LG OLED online at Nebraska TV Mart but can't seem to find much about them. Can't tell if they are related to Nebraska Furniture Mart. I did a search of the forums but nothing came up.

I started having power supply issues this week with my PDP-6070HD. At least I think it's PSU issues. I'm going to miss that TV.

Do you know how do to a "Search this Thread" at the top of this page? I just did a search and several posts mention Nebraska TV Mart. It looks bad.

Meli mentioned that this thread talks about that seller. But, in general, resellerratings.com is where to look.

It looks too good to be true. No way they're selling 65" E8's for under $1400.

For perspective, it costs less than 150% the cost of a 65C9 WOLED to manufacture a 77C9 WOLED.

It is a question of where LG wants to put their focus in terms of gaining market share.

Through 2018, that focus has been on 55" and 65" Premium TV sales.

Whether 'the year of 77" OLED sales' is this year (as LG has stated) or next year, when they decide to focus on the 75/77" Premium TV market with the same intensity they have been focusing on the 55" and 65" Premium TV markets, we are going to see much lower 77" OLED TV prices (which will seem 'too low' by historical standards).

$5500 for the 77C9 would be a very serious MSRP.

Priced 10% higher than the 75Q90 (where it delivers a 5% larger screen + HDMI 2.1).

Priced 15% below the 82Q90 (where it has a 12% smaller screen).

And a $5500 MSRP would almost guarantee a sub ~$4500 discounted price come November...

I like it - let's hope your Korean-MSRP-to-US-MSRP calculaion proves correct.

BH was taking pre-order of 77C9 for 6999. Unless one of us pre-ordered and got a cancellation email, I will not think BH was playing bait and switch. They are far reputable to do so.
They have dropped the price of 77C8 to 6496 plus $500 GC, which is still higher than their sale price couple of weeks ago. But lower the price around for that model due to C9 coming out.

There's no end to speculation, unless you are in serious money business in stock marker Wait and watch.

BH: We are going to reduce the cost of your 77C9 order by $1400. Would you still like to place the order?

Customer: Why yes, I would!

Finally got on a PC where I could better search this thread and the forums. Only a couple of posts mention Nebraska TV Mart. None are actual buying experiences, just speculation that it's a scam because of the prices. One person tried calling them and got voicemail which they took as a red flag (not sure what time of the day it was...their website states their hours are 10am - 6pm.) But again, unless I just missed a post, no actual experience buying from them. It's tempting but I'm not sure I want to be the guinea pig.

Newegg flash currently has the 65" E8 for $2249, and although they aren't authorized I've never had an issue with them. I'm thinking this may be about as good as it's going to get, unless you all know of a better deal coming down the road?

Interesting. B&H is not on the list either. I don't know the details of how the supply chain works but I'm assuming LG does not sell directly to resellers who are not authorized. So how do places like Newegg and B&H get these from secondary suppliers at prices where they can sell them at prices below the authorized resellers? Are the margins at the authorized dealers just that high?

I know when I was buying high end appliances (Sub-Zero, Thermador, etc) the prices were the same at every authorized reseller I went to because the manufacturers dictate a minimum price. The only way I was able to get them cheaper was through dealers not authorized but the manufacturers still honored the warranty (I had to make use of two.)

Remember if someone informs you supply has dried up, and prices have gone up it may be too late for you. I know I have missed some really good deals waiting for them to get a little better.

ABC TV (not sure if it's related to ABC Warehouse as the logos look the same and that's listed as an authorized LG reseller) has the 77 C8 for $3499 with free shipping and 45 day returns;

https://www.abctvs.com/prodinfo.phtml?id=4004

Not sure how good of a deal that is but that's getting close to the price where I would probably choose the 2018 model over a 2019 model that will for sure be $1500 more.
