For perspective, it costs less than 150% the cost of a 65C9 WOLED to manufacture a 77C9 WOLED.
It is a question of where LG wants to put their focus in terms of gaining market share.
Through 2018, that focus has been on 55" and 65" Premium TV sales.
Whether 'the year of 77" OLED sales' is this year (as LG has stated) or next year, when they decide to focus on the 75/77" Premium TV market with the same intensity they have been focusing on the 55" and 65" Premium TV markets, we are going to see much lower 77" OLED TV prices (which will seem 'too low' by historical standards).
$5500 for the 77C9 would be a very serious MSRP.
Priced 10% higher than the 75Q90 (where it delivers a 5% larger screen + HDMI 2.1).
Priced 15% below the 82Q90 (where it has a 12% smaller screen).
And a $5500 MSRP would almost guarantee a sub ~$4500 discounted price come November...
I like it - let's hope your Korean-MSRP-to-US-MSRP calculaion proves correct.
