Is Newegg authorized?

https://www.lg.com/us/authorizeddealers/newegg says yes they are authorized.
https://www.lg.com/us/authorizeddeal...ized_retailers say maybe not

Yes, this is definitely true. Thing is there are really very few bad panels and there are zero perfect panels. It mostly comes down to how picky some consumers can be. I've heard of people changing out same model 4 or 5 times! I find it hard to believe they got 4 bad panels, more likely the TV just did not meet their expectations. Now if you're talking about TCL, Vizio or Hisence...well they have definitely had some QC issues. With LG, Sony or Samsung a truly bad panel is very very rare...more likely would fall under buyers remorse.

But, yes you are correct...Best Buy, Costco, Sams, etc will switch them out on a whim without issue. In the long run someone pays for these returns as the manufacturer and/or the store(s) have to pass the cost along or modify policy as we have seen with Costco returns and the price rewinds.

True Mr. Pickem.
Hard to believe most anyone could have buyer's remorse with a LG OLED though.
Stunning, imo.

I think newegg themselves might be for some LG products (but not TVs), but the many resellers that sell through newegg generally are not.

https://www.lg.com/us/authorizeddeal...ized_retailers says newegg is on the not authorized list for TVs.

But the other LG site says yes and has TV picture in it?
Both are from official LG website :/

I just contacted Newegg and they said they should be and would make things right if they deny some warranty claim within 1 year (got it on email).

Also the current deal in Newegg is $1380 for a new E8 55" from Newegg, not someone else.

Wow LG's website maintenance is a mess it seems.

I do see https://www.lg.com/us/authorizeddealers/samsclub too and that was claimed as also now being authorized even though the other page doesn't mention them at all.

I have no idea how one should even find those ones.

I'm contacting LG now but it's a hot mess. The lady is telling me if you go to the TV site and click order online it will show the authorized dealers.
I told her that's not correct because the list only has 15 dealers but your main dealer page has close to 50.

edit:
She is "escalating" the issue to get clarification.

Ok she is just a phone answering bot that just reads cards and doesn't know.

I dunno. Sam's club and Newegg is on the micro site but not the main site.
Best buy and amazon is on micro site and in main site.

She is saying the main site is gospel but obviously it's incomplete.

I'd love a E8 65 for $1200, even a floor model. I am more apprehensive buying an OLED floor model which could have had the ABL disabled running full brightness 24/7 for months than I would be an LCD.

Dell has the OLED65G7P (Signature series) for $2499.00 with a $300 GC today. (Very nice tv, but from 2017)

Oh and the E8 I bought from Newegg (one sub vendor or another, I forget the name) last month turned out to have a bad HDMI port. I called LG, and it's being replaced as I write this under warranty. Draw your own conclusions, but I've never had an issue with anything I've bought from them over many, many years.

Be aware that the seller is iElectrica, and Best Buy won't match them.

Looks like the E8 stock is out.

I did, was approximately 3700 hours which is more or less 5 mths. I mitigated my risk with a 3 yrs warranty which was $100 off due to the open box tag. In total ~1450 ++tax plus 3 year warranty.

Still a good deal not to pass up. An employee was slated to buy it the next day.

The C865 they had in the showroom was going for 1700.

I think intimately someone messed up the pricing and I walked into a medium risk high reward purchase.

Because I am right now shopping for an open box C8, how do I check the hours on a TV? I presume it's in the Menu system somewhere?

Thanks in advance for any info you might have.

Thanks so much, Mac.

Given that 2018 models were likely brought to market one year ago, do you think there's any generally accepted average for what one would consider "low" hours for a 2018 model? Perhaps like 2000 hours or less?

Thanks again...

I tried the same with my local BB and had no luck. I will probably go with Greentoe.

I tried the same thing and failed as well. So I called the authorized dealer in New Jersey directly. No Greentoe.
I returned my 65 C8 to Best Buy which was a $2007 price match with Amazon four weeks ago.

Although I lost my SquareTrade warranty and gave up a good deal, I will get my dream TV soon.
