2018 LG OLED Deals - B/C/E/G/W Series

Price drops are starting to come in for the 2018 models. It's been getting messy posting it in the 2017 threads. It's about time for a dedicated thread.

Best deal is to buy from Green Toe for $2,499 with a credit card. Make a price protection claim against eBuyUSA for $2,049. If you are patient, you can wait a month and claim for full $500 reimbursement at $1,999 out the door.

65" C8 (aka C8PUA)
Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price
Amazon $3197 https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronic...LG+OLED65C8PUA
Best Buy $3,199 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-65-c...?skuId=6203009

Unadvertised Price
Greentoe: $2,499 Shipped (no additional taxes or shipping)

Price Protection Price
EbuyUSA: $2,059
TV Superstores $2,079

Please update with other models, if you find great deals. Thank you.

Have the 55” ones hit $1999 yet on Greentoe or other places yet?

That's not too far off from the Best Buy retail price of $2,299. Make an offer for $1,999 and see if they bite. Keep in mind, there is no sales tax if the vendor is out of state.

If you want to buy local, head to Best Buy for the $2,299. Use a credit card with price protection like Citi. Get $500 credited back from the credit card company, when you match it against eBuyUSA (http://www.ebuyusa.com/prodinfo.phtml?id=3753) or a lower price within 60 days. It would bring the price down to $1,799.

65" C8PUA
Buy the 65" C8PUA from Greentoe for $2498.
Price Protection to $1,998 at TVSuperstores. http://www.tvsuperstores.com/LG_C8PU...raHD_1082.html

Total price is $1,998. No taxes charged on Greentoe, if out of state vendor. Free shipping.

55" C8PUA
eBay- FirstClassTVs $1,649
https://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-OLED55C8...887&rmvSB=true

Shipping is free.

This would be a good offer to make on Greentoe, if you want to deal with an authorized dealer instead of eBay. If they don't bite this weekend, they would likely do it in another month. Be sure to pay attention to thread for price protection claim, when the price drops.

I am not sure how price protection works on eBay purchases.

6/5/2016 LG officially drops MSRP on their OLEDs $500 for the 65” C6 and B6

6/11/2017 LG officially drops MSRP on the 65” C7 $500

Both those dates were on a Sunday. Seeing a pattern? Hoping June 4th is the day this year.

So I got my approval letter for my Citi card and now the price rewind is only for $200, instead of $500.:frown:

Is the new policy in effect for the lowered $200 price rewind? Originally, it was supposed to be safe for purchases up to July 29. The employee may have messed up.

Maybe it’s only for new card holders? I’ll wait a couple weeks to see if LG drops the MSRP like they have every year in June.

Supposedly, the change to Citi's Price Rewind from $500 to $200 takes place on 7/29/18. You should call Citi and challenge this.

Does anyone know if American Express price protection covers competitor prices? All I could find on the AmEx website was insurance coverage or if the retailer won't accept a return within 90 days you can get up to $300 back. For all the great things I've heard about American Express some of the benefits seem a little lackluster.

move4ward 05-26-2018 12:13 PM

I do not think AMEX cards have price protection as a benefit.

Most people use Citi and certain Chase Visa cards. All Discover card have it, but they are more likely to reject.

I have 2 rejections from Discover due to being charged on Sunday and Invoice Date being on Monday. Appealing now. I wish I had Citi.

Just received my 55" C8 from Greentoe a few hours ago. Bought Thursday, Shipped Friday, Arrived today all for $1700.

Absolutely couldn't be happier with using them. Sure I maybe could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere, but I am definitely a Greentoe believer now, and more importantly an LG OLED believer. Even un-calibrated this set is gorgeous.

Even though I found a 65E7 demo at a good price I may forego that and wait for the C8 or better yet the E8’s to come down in price.

HofW 05-29-2018 07:48 AM

Got the 55" C8 from Greentoe last night for $1595 . . .

move4ward 05-29-2018 08:17 AM

For credit card price protection claim only, TVSuperstores has dropped price to $1,899 for 2018 65" C8PUA.

It's a sweet deal for a new model, if you are using one of the credit cards with price protection. Buy from another vendor, make a PP claim against TVSuperstores for $500 reimbursement.

TV came yesterday via FedEx. AVR is due Monday via UPS. So far, so good. I'm an Amazon Prime member and order things quite regularly with a push of a button so, not exactly apples to apples. I won't be able to report a full experience until I unbox and make sure everything is working properly sometime in the middle of next week.

move4ward 06-09-2018 04:17 PM

Street prices dropped $100 for LG 65" C8.

BuyDig.com LG Authorized Dealer has a call-in special on Sunday 06/10. I still think we can do much better on 4th of July. If you must have it for World Cup, shipping may take a week.

https://slickdeals.net/f/11685491-6-...t-free-s-h?v=1

6/10/18 Call-In: open: Sunday 6/10/18 from 9am EDT – 6:30pm EDT

LG OLED55C8P 55"$1579 + free shipping 800-617-4686 Ext. 1 and mention the price of $1579

LG OLED65C8P 65" $2399 + free shipping 800-617-4686 Ext. 1 and mention the price of $2399

Use Citi Price Rewind fto make a price protection claim against TV Superstores at $1,999 for the C8 65".

There are no sales taxes charged, unless you are in NJ.

If the MSRP doesn’t drop $500 tomorrow I think I’ll buy at $2400, if Cleveland has the same deal.

Can I ask where this $500 drop, and why tomorrow, are coming from?

The past 2 years at least, LG has dropped the MSRP by $500 on the 65” OLED models. 2 years ago it was the 1st Sunday in June, last year it was the 2nd Sunday in June. Check out the 2017 and 2016 deal threads.

OldSenileGuy 06-09-2018 07:44 PM

Historically, have the 55” models dropped around this time as well?

Not sure, you can check the previous years threads to check.

New TV prices drops every month. People make a big deal out of Black Friday, but that's just one price drop in the year.

There are several price cuts throughout the first 6 months of a new product cycle, before it hits that Black Friday deal. The largest cuts are in the April-August period, when the prices start out ridiculously high.

55" C7 Price History: https://camelcamelcamel.com/LG-Elect...uct/B01MZF7WCT
55" C6 Price History: https://camelcamelcamel.com/LG-Elect...uct/B01CDF9S1G

CamelCamelCamel has a bug. If there is a special sale on Amazon and the price shows "See price in cart", the sales price will not appear in the graph. There are a few steeper drops around Black Friday and holidays, but all of them are missing from the graph. Unfortunately, this bug breaks the price alerts also.
