Is there a guarantee that the Greentoe offers are sold by authorized retailers with a warranty that will be honored by LG?

Yes

If you look on their website, they specifically state that whatever you purchase will come from an authorized retailer with a full manufacturer's warranty.

In Costco's newest flyer, if you use the Costco credit card, you will get 15% off (in form of Costco Cash Card) the purchase of either LG C9 65 or 77 OLED. Not bad!

yes, Costco price on a 77" C9 is $6,999 and I believe a C8 77" is $5,999. I think you can do better than the 15% they are offering on their CC

I'm not sure exactly what it means, but the front page story of AVS is currently:

OLED Deal: Save up to $1000 on a 65″ LG C9 TV
by Mark Henninger on May 17, 2019

"Deal hunters seeking a 65″ OLED will want to check out this offer from Greentoe. You can save up to $1000 off a 65″ LG C9 (2019 model) when you name your price. That’s big savings on one of the best TVs money can buy...."

I'm ready to buy a c9 65 if I can get under $3000. That greentoe offer just looks like smoke and mirrors since they do not actually have any stock. Best buy does have a $350 gift card offer but the smart thing to do is wait for the Memorial Day sale and see. Its getting time to start seeing some discounts.

$2200 was smoke or an error, but it turns green at $2500, so why spend $3000? It won't be long (maybe a month) before 65 C9s will easily be had for $2300 and then eventually $2200 and lower if last year is any indication.

MSRP will probably go to $3200 for the end of May then $3500 again in June and then permanent cuts. Who knows why LG does this, but that's how they operate.

Forum sponsor Chris at Cleveland AV can probably get you one right away under $3000 if you don't want to play games with Greentoe or wait another month or so (but maybe wait until tomorrow at least to see if LG cuts MSRP by $300 again).

You are correct sir! The Best Buy Memorial sale has the 65 inch OLED C9 at $3200 and with gift cards totaling $320. That's $2880 plus tax and free delivery. So is that the best to expect till Fall?

That coupon requires signing up for "subscribe and save" which I don't trust. But good to know. If you go with BB you do get reward points and elite membership for a year. Plus return is a lot easier if there is a problem with it. It's good to have options.

Greentoe is legit. You're right - They don't have stock. They are a site where other resellers sell their stock. I just got a counter offer for $2499. I'm waiting to get closer to $2000-$2200, and I am willing to wait a few months. They sell from authorized resellers like buydig / beach camera.

No. I just mentioned above how to get it for $2499 today.

Its not for "subscribe and save". Its just a 15% off coupon. You aren't subscribing to receive a TV every X weeks.

Value Electronics has a similar deal, minus the tax.

Send them an email to ask about it.

If you plan to use Best Buy, then it probably won't be much cheaper until August (but maybe, who knows). As others have said, if you don't mind online or phone orders, it's already $2500 and will be $2300 then $2200 as inventory ramps up over the next few months.

I wouldn't be thrilled to have Best Buy gift cards vs. a straight discount because everything seems overpriced in that store.

You can pretty much get an idea of LG's MSRP timing by looking at the C8 from last year, but "street" (online/phone) prices are always a healthy amount lower.

https://camelcamelcamel.com/LG-Electronics-OLED65C8P-65-Inch-Ultra/product/B079V3J3Y9?context=search

You can stay tuned here and/or set up an alert on Slickdeals.

I agree that gift cards are more inconvenient than a straight-up price reduction. I just finished upgrading my audio to a SONOS system so I don't need anything else at BB anymore. I'm wary though about those online bargains as there are some shady places. I don't want to get sent a store demo or a return. Also shipping damage is a nightmare I don't want to get caught up in. I may just sit tight for an actual sub $3000 deal from BB and no gift card nonsense. Thank you for your advice.

OLED77C9PUB $5,196.99 + tax via Walt's. YMMV, I just went on the website and put the model number in the chat and they gave me a coupon for $1,800 off.

Sorry if off topic but greentoe offers a protection plan thru CPS. I have always used squaretrade. Has anyone had experience w CPS. 4 years for $129 seems like a good price.

Walts

If you go to Walts, there’s a chat pop up to request deal info. I am buying two TVs and asked about both:

LG C9 77”, $1,790 off MSRP
LG E9 65”, $1,000 off MSRP

So, Costco's price for the 65 OLED is $3149, plus you get 15% Costco cash card worth $472, plus 3 year square trade warranty. Seems like a good local deal.

Yep - but still a great deal if you have one, which I would guess a lot do that shop at Costco....
