Not in my case I had a Costo membership but did not renew and I have a Visa but not Citi. However you have given me an idea. Best Buy sells the C9 for $3199 and then gives some gift cards too. If I go in to Best Buy and ask for 15% off like Costco then I might get the C9 for $2719. worth a shot?

You can certainly ask, but BBY is already $3200 + 10% ($320) in gift cards + 5% ($160) in reward zone points if you use a Best Buy credit card (or 10% in rewards points if you sign up for a card that day, which will also give you several months of 0% interest before going to 28% or whatever) + plus sales tax. As we've mentioned before, there are better deals easily had online, but if you want it right now from a local store with easy returns/exchanges, that's more or less the "local" price unless you live near a specialty shop that lets you haggle.

Edit: maybe new BBY cards give 10% in rewards OR 0% interest for several months, and I guess you might become elite and get 6% instead of 5% if you already have a BBY card, but all this stuff is always available and not really a new deal.

for what it is worth I stopped into Best Buy this morning. They are having a final blowout of any B8's still in store. B8 65" Price is $1999 plus tax and includes elite membership with rewards points. They had only one new in box in my store with next day delivery and I couldn't resist.

Not sure, the 2018 thread might be a better place to ask or search (but I'll add that ielectrica via newegg has it for $1300 to give you a perspective and also point out that lots of people say LG honors the warranty even if you buy new from "unauthorized" dealers).

Yes, 10% back in a gift card. Not all that bad except you must spend it at BB. I have to think the 77” C9s will drop quickly once production ramps up. Too early to jump I think.

When does Costco's 15% off deal end? Memorial day? I ordered the credit card but it will be 7-10 days before it gets here.

2-3 weeks ago I read on one of the LG OLED forums here,(thought it was this thread but it seems not) that VideoOnly was offering the 77C8 for $3999 on their website. Anyone know where it was posted?

I suspect that was for a C8 and not a C9.

77C8s can be purchased for $4,000-$4,500 right now. I paid $4,200 plus tax ($4,500 all in with shipping) last week.

It was 77C8, corrected. (I will change the post).
Back to the question, which forum here is that posted. I thought I'd ask VideoOnly if they will still honor that deal.

Post 379 (page 13) here. 77C8 at $3900 or less is common now, but such discussion belongs in that thread ;-)

This isn't my experience on 77C8 pricing lately. Not from authorized dealers anyway. I'd pull the trigger on $3900 immediately, so if someone knows where that is possible feel free to let me know.

VideoOnly is an authorized reseller, $3999.99. Sorry, that deal is gone. I just purchased the C9 from them.

Just bought a LG C9 55" on Ebay for $2558 AUD = $1788 USD

Was a 20% discount They are usually listed at $3000-$3200 so i saved about $500, I'm happy.

I just checked and there are 65 inch C9's for $2,500. Am I crazy in thinking the C8's took like 9 months to get down to that price?

The C8 was $2500 a year ago (late May 2018) and there was no sales tax for most and $500 price protection was still a thing. C9 is following same pattern but it's harder to avoid tax and most cards have killed or significantly reduced price protection (yes yes, all the usual comments about morality or legality of dodged tax and pp and don't ask what it is if you don't know... search old posts it's been beaten to death :-).

Example (thumbs down for pp in title but you get the idea):
https://slickdeals.net/f/11636379-lg-c8-65-2499-after-pp-1999

Better example from early May 2018:

C9 prices are coming down much more quickly than C8 did last year. I contemplated upgrade to a C8 last year and the first "real" price drop of about 10% happened around eight weeks after availability at least from authorized resellers.

By comparison just ordered 77C9 literally days after embargo lifted for 25% off MSRP and from an authorized dealer.

I think that by black friday the 77C9 will be selling for $3999.

Ok, 77 is cheaper sooner than last year, but 65 is tracking last year's prices. My previous post was in reference to 65.

Ah, I see. Well the prices of the 65 and 55 have been relatively "normal" compared to competitive high end sets whereas the 77 has been stratospherically priced compared to 75" competitors from QLED makers.

Perhaps this is in fact the year that LG is making the hard push to get more market share in the 75 and up segment.

Damn, where did you get C9 for 25% off? Does LG have EPP like Samsung does?

Walts had a deal for $5200 shipped on 77C9. It was mentioned in multiple threads but few seemed to jump on it. I believe they are now out of stock.

I get mine tomorrow, fingers crossed it's a "good" one.

So the Walt's deal (sold out) was $5200+tax ($5720 if 10% tax). The Costco deal is $6950+tax ($7645) with a gift card for 15% of the pre-tax price (-$1042), or $6602 total. However, Costco will price match if the price drops within 30 days (seems likely, given LG has already discounted the 65 which came out before the 77) and you can even return the TV within 90 days if the price drops significantly more (usually does in August) if they won't price match after the 30 day period.

LG C9 77", Marantz SR7010, Oppo UDP-203, 5.1.4 system.

I had posted the 77 C9 deal on this thread, the 77 inch deals thread, and on Slickdeals where it only got one thumbs up. I think @jmpage2 and @RichB are the only ones that jumped on it Probably still too much for most people (myself included).

According to my salesperson at Walt’s they sold “quite a few” at that price.
