2020 LG OLED Deals

The previous 2020 LG OLED deals thread appears to have been removed. Maybe someone wasn't being civil? We need a place to post/find deals on the 2020 LG OLEDs though. Hopefully, everyone can focus on the deals here and respond in a friendly manner even if disagreeing with a comment.

I'm interested in the 65-inch CX myself, but I'm not ready to pull the plug just yet. The best deal I see at this time is Value Electronics' introductory sale price at $2,497 with free shipping and no sales tax outside of NY. Cleveland Plasma may also have a competitive price less than LG's MSRP, but you'll need to call to find out. Best Buy is currently at $2,799.99 plus tax.

I posted this in the previous thread, and I think the discussion may have gotten out of hand.

Anyway - if you happened to get a 10% coupon for Best Buy in the last week or so, it is valid for the LG CX series (at least when ordering online), even though the exclusions make it sound like it shouldn't work.

In addition to this, it looks like they also started offering a $200 gift card with the 65" CX:

Just registered so I can post on this conversation. I visit this forum occasionally to research things of interest and I am interested in buying a new OLED TV.

I read the last thread that is now disappeared that tomassc referred to above. I took the advice of buying the 10% coupon on ebay for $40 and when I tried to use it at Best Buy On-line and it was rejected. I spoke to an agent and they said two problems, 1st it's not transferable, and 2nd it cannot be used for any LG OLED TV. So I wasted $40 on buying the non-refundable ebay coupon and much time.

I do like the Best Buy $200 gift certificate, but at least at this time I don't need anything else from Best Buy.

I like the original posters recommendation of buying from Cleveland Plasma or Value Electronics as they have better prices right off the purchase price and with the sales tax savings it's still much cheaper than any of the Best Buy deals even if you could use the illegal coupon. LG also lists the 65" Cx for $2,799.

Best Buy is not open to the public so it's an On-line order ether way anyone decides to buy the TV.

Dang, that is a bummer - I'm sorry about that! I'm still able to use the 10% coupon online, so maybe it had/has something to do with being transferable. Maybe if the stores re-open in the next few weeks, a manager can override it.

But 10% off + $200 gift card is pretty sweet!

Thanks thomasec. I don't blame you it just sparked my greedy side.

Two points, most importantly, it seems like this is a very limited coupon and you seem to be one of the rare lucky ones to get it so not sure it's something that others can take advantage of.

The other thing I want to bring up is that even for you with the 10% discount and if you consider the $200 Best Buy gift card as a real $200 value, even you would still be paying more than the person who started this thread posted, which is the lowest available actual price you can get the same TV from the two other retailers.

My final word on this is that Best Buys $200 gift card is limited to the 65" size. I'm interested in the 77" CX and the coupon and $200 gift card is not available to me or any other person for that TV size.

I was hoping to get Best Buy to price match Value Electronic's price for the 66" CX as well as provide the $200 gift card, but no go. BB considers VE to be a local business, even though they ship nationally. They will only price match VE if you live within 25 miles of the store. If you read BB's restrictive price matching terms, it sounds as if they actually would rarely do a price match.

Interesting. Were you able to determine whether - if they would do a price match - you'd also get the $200 gift card? I live close enough to VE...

No, I didn't get any further than getting turned down for the price match. It can't hurt to ask though. It's not like you can use the gift card anywhere else, so it shouldn't be considered in the price match. The service rep I talked to seemed to be just following procedures and not making any subjective decisions.

Question: 3 options on 77” OLED tax and shipping included. 2019 LG C9 $4300 (Costco), 2019 Sony A9G $4599 (Greentoe) or 2020 LG C9 $4497 (VE). Any feedback would be helpful.

VE just offered me Sony's 77" A9G for $4,999 with free shipping and not tax, but I think I'l hold out for the CX or GX.

Lowest price on the 77" C9 was $3,500 in Nov./Dec. from Greentoe...

Wondering what the price will be this year - considering the 77" CX is starting out $2,000 cheaper than last year's C9 started at...

Shopping List:
TV: LG CX/GX; Samsung Q90T/Q800T...?
Blu-ray: Panasonic UB820
AVR/Pre-pro: Marantz 8805/7705 or 8012, or Yamaha 5200 or 3080
Speakers: GE Triton One.R, or ML ElectroMotion ESL X

My guess is that the street price will be about the same for a while as the last generation. I'd happy to be wrong though since I really want a 77" OLED.

Well we already know about Value Electronics - $2,499 for the 65" CX.

https://www.*********************/20...7__CX_OLED.php

For those of you on the West Coast - Video Only as the 65" CX for $2,100.

Shopping List:
TV: LG CX/GX; Samsung Q90T/Q800T...?
Blu-ray: Panasonic UB820

Your url is all x's except for the end. Guess we could figure it by using the company name you listed above.

I checked Video Only and the 65" CX is also listed at $2,499, not $2,199. Here's the link to Video Only's sale on 2020 LG TVs.

edit, just checked Value Electronics and they list the 65" CX for $2,497 and they ship nationwide. Video Only has 16 stores and does not seem to ship, just in store and local deliveries.

The link has all x's - because I guess there is some sort of "rift" between this site and Value Electronics - so this site x's out their web address...

As far as Video Only - this is what I received in my email today from Slickdeals:

Buy Dig has the 65" CX for $2796.99 with $440 in Visa gift cards with purchase, plus using the coupon code DIGAPRIL50 takes another $50 off, making the final cost $2306.99 plus tax. There is also a coupon code for free 2-day shipping (BDEXPRESS), but I don't know if it applies to this TV or whether you can even stack coupons. Currently, there is a processing delay before shipping because of COVID-19.

Thanks. Not a bad deal, but total at checkout with tax is still over $3000 (for the 65" CX)

You do get the Visa gift cards, but you're still paying tax on the 2796 and not on 2306. Stacking other coupons didn't work when I tried. I'm sure those who wait a bit longer will be able to get it for close to that $2300 price (without having to do visa cards) maybe around Memorial Day or just after.

Edit: Here's a deal from 2019 shortly after the C9 came out where it was being sold by Greentoe for $2199 + Free Shipping dated 5/6/2019. So if history is any indicator, we should see much better deals pop up early next month.

The Buy Dig total for me would be $2474.81, a little under the Value Electronics price but with the downside of having to deal with the Visa cards. Greentoe doesn't have the CX listed yet, but for those who can wait, might offer the best price when available. I don't know if I want to wait for that because my plasma has developed a bright green vertical line on the screen that detracts from anything I try to watch.

The 65" CX and GX are now listed on Greentoe. The 77" isn't up yet. I put in an offer of $2200 for the OLED65CXPUA, although I have no confidence that it will be accepted.

You might want to email Chris at Cleveland Plasma. (unless you live in Ohio)

Another thing to try is to buy using the affiliate links at ShopSmarter, which provides 10% cashback at a number of stores, including Best Buy and Buy Dig. The caveat is that this is a paid monthly service (7-day trial for $1.97, then $9.97/month after), but you can cancel anytime online. There are some bad reviews out there for this site (many were unaware of the monthly charge, but some complain about problems with cashback payments). However, there are also good reviews saying the site and cashback are legitimate. Might be worth trying for the 10 percent back.

I put in at Greentoe at $2000 got an offer at $2498. Have to decide if that’s the best I can do. Thoughts?
