Sort of. Fox has picked up a new animated show from the creator of AD, Mitch Hurwitz. It will be titled Sit Down, Shut Up, and it's based on a failed (!) Austrailian sitcom (what else should we expect from the looney mind behind AD?). It's a 13-episode order. Here's the clincher: included in the voice cast are many of the regulars from AD, including Jason Bateman and Will Arnett. REALLY curious and excited to see if this one clicks...

I've been recording AD recently, great show. I had watched it when it was on Fox.

Too bad Will Arnet wasn't the voice of the knight rider II car. I can imagine people taking his AD audio clips and using them for the voice of the car.

And now comes the news that there will probably be an Arrested Development movie. Hooray!!!

Hurwitz hinted that all sides are closer to putting together that long-rumored "Arrested Development" movie. The scribe said he was "really optimistic" that an announcement was imminent: "We have a deal more or less in place from Fox Searchlight," he said.

Hurwitz also quipped that he has a storyline in mind: "It's 'Valkerie' meets 'Hotel for Dogs.'"

What's not to love?

Now if only George Michael (Michael Cera?) agrees to take part; he's the only holdout thusfar.

Arrested Development offered more laughs-per-minute than any show ever. It was ridiculous and brilliant.

+1

i remarked in the 30 Rock thread that i loved how Arrested Development rewarded viewers by bring back inside jokes from previous eps...similar to How I Met Your Mother does now. man, all this AD talk makes me wanna break out the series on DVD and/or encode the eps for my Samsung Instinct...on second, i think i'll do that this weekend .

This has to be my favorite exchange in the show:

Michael: My mom is very stressed out, and she needs something I can't give her, um... maybe a little "afternoon delight"
Narrator: Oscar thought that Michael was referring to a particular brand of cannabis named Afternoon Deelite, a strain famous for slowing behavior.
Oscar: Well sure, my question is, which way do I try to get it in her?
Michael: I don't need any details.
Oscar: Maybe I'll put it in her brownie
Michael: Hey.

It would usually take at least 2 viewings to catch all the jokes.
