Good points,

The "waif" is a real fox IRL, did anyone catch her on Conan at Comiccon? Wowza. Looks totally unlike the show.

Lots of spoilers being leaked with the filming starting. One picture shows Jon Snow, Daenerys, and Tyrion on a beach talking to each other. Man, that is going to be an EPIC meeting. Sooo can't wait to see that scene play out!

A Reddit user posted everything that happens in the next season. If accurate (and there is no reason to believe it will not with all the previous correct spoilers) then I am happy and mad at the same time. As I was reading it I have never been so happy and so pissed at the same time. Won't spoil anything as they are some pretty big spoilers but man, a couple things really have me pissed. Gonna be an emotional ride of a season.

Nice video about the history of Westeros and Aegon's conquest with reference to Danny taken from the books.

If it's something that's not in the books then I think it should be a spoiler. If the show marries Jon and Sansa and The Hound is the best man I don't want to know ahead of time.

At this point, isn't everything "not in the books", as the show's writers have now supposedly caught up to and moved past the last book? And going by GRR Martin's substantial corpulence and questionable work ethic, he ain't catching up to them before he moves on "beyond the wall" himself. Not that I'm judging...

Aw heck, sure I am.

On the "other" thread, I posted that I thought having 2 threads now is redundant ..

I also wrote some about GRRM, his work ethic, etc (I've known the guy forever) .. did not get much love for that ..

I'm so ready for July. I wish they would have just made 1 long season as opposed to breaking it into 2. Supposedly they only have enough content for 13 more episodes.

Well HBO wanted more episodes and would have gladly spent what they spent for previous seasons.

But looks like the show runners are so enriched that they just want to finish and move on.

Looks like David Chase has done little if anything since The Sopranos, because he was spent and had no economic reason to embark on anything else.

Just like Larry David. The GoT showrunners have to get to work on Curb Your Thrones or something like that.

FFS back at you. This thread was started for people who had read the books and wanted to talk about stuff that would be a spoiler for non-book readers. My comment is perfectly in line with that. If we want to open it up to discussion of all spoilers, book or otherwise, then yeah, I'll move over to the other thread.

Agree - I'll take what I can get (as most of us will) and the opening epp was fantastic.

Personally, I can't be spoiled. You can tell me everything that happens, but I still need to see it in order to really take it in. Then I might watch it again.
It's possible I'll never understand people with some "Precious Experience" that's so fragile they can't process the idea of any story details. Why on earth would these "Delicate Flower" of a people even visit a place where there might be discussion of the story? We discuss things, but it's not OK to discuss things? You people must be a horror show in a shoe shop. I won't get into the difficulty of finding undies. It must be a burden too huge to express. A Word comes to mind... Panties

Posted this on the other GOT thread with ALL spoilers so some of you may have seen this:

It occurred to me that there is a continuity issue related to the first season given what we now know. That is the color of Jon Snow's hair. If I recall the first season investigation that Ned Stark did to confirm that Robert's and Cersei's children were not theirs, he read from a book that described the color of hair being a major factor in identifying their lineage. Although the Starks have darker hair, wouldn't it be more likely that if Jon Snow is a Targaryen, that his hair color would be platinum blonde or at least a much lighter color than it currently is? I don't remember my genetics on which parent takes priority in their kids looks but I would have thought this would have come up by now (maybe I missed it).

Any other opinions?

The show ONLY mentioned that the Baratheon's ALL had DARK hair and the Lannister's all had FAIR hair. Nothing was mentioned about the Starks or the Targeryans. I think Dany and her brother came from closely related parents (maybe brother and sister) but Jon's parents were a Stark and a Targeryan and we have no idea of their hair colouring.

Actually we do. In the scenes with a young Ned Stark finding Lyanna at the Tower of Joy, she clearly had darker brown hair. No scenes (yet) of Rhaegar Targaryen but all the graphics of him on line show him with the same platinum blonde hair as we see on Dany and her brother who was executed in season one. I would still have expected that Jon Snow would have lighter colored hair based on what Ned was reading in that book in season one. I know it was referencing the Baratheons and Lannisters but seemed indicative of how those of a specific house had similar features.
