I just posted in the other thread about Jon, what I just remembered. The fact that he got burnt, when he was saving Mormont, doesn't that rule out targaryen relative?

Good episode! Im glad they brought back Jon this early cause I was getting tired of all the actors having to lie about it everyday....its like nobody actually believed he was gonna stay dead.

Well, now that he's died and come back, maybe he can't be burnt now? Also, he wouldn't be full blooded Targaryen (he'd be half Stark), so maybe that makes a difference, since they usually kept the bloodline pure. I don't know. I haven't read anything outside of the main 5 books, so I'm not as knowledgeable about some of the back story as others, and I don't remember that info being in the main books. I should get those other books. I'm jonesing for book 6.

On another note, since I brought up the dragon horn, I've been trying to find out more about it. I don't recall much history about it in the books, except that Euron found one and it controls dragons. But it also kills anyone who blows it. Maybe you have to be a Targaryen to wield it? Where can I find out more about these horns? Can't find a whole lot online. Anyone?

For jon, there is only rumors on his lineage. There is nothing official yet, but I feel we might find out this season.

It was either Victarion, or Euron. Victarion is the one who is sailing the find Dany. Euron attempts the throne in the kingsmoot.

Unless I missed it, they didn't really say which brother it was, but my money is on Euron (not the one sailing to find Dany).

I didn't think that they didn't have enough material to make it through the season. They are going so slowly with things and teasing as much as they can. The only surprise was Asha and Rickon.

Enjoyed the episode.

The flashback was interesting.

Seems like we are about to learn of Jon's true lineage?

The sounds from the tower could have been his birthing?

I reserve the right to be completely and embarrassingly wrong!

Soooo... did anyone notice the way Osha was looking at Ramsey, and think perhaps this is all a ruse? A way for her to get in and assassinate the little bastard? One can hope.

Would be cool if that happens, but maybe it's going to be Jon's mission. Bastards vs bastard.

That is probably the most advanced and well choreographed sword fight I've ever seen. In the flashback I mean. Dual wielding swords. Not even Jon Snow is that good.

Why did they fight and where was that place?

The screams were from Ned's sister, the real mother of Jon Snow?

That was the tower of joy, where I guess Ned's sister was being kept. By then Rhaegar was dead, and Ned had come to liberate his sister.

However, Rhaegar left his best members of the Kingsguard still alive to guard Lyanna, who supposedly had been abducted. These included Ser Arthur Dayne, sword of the morning.

I think the screams were hers, maybe during childbirth.

Tower of Joy was Targaeryan?

Let's say R+L=J is true.

Who, now living, knows it's true? Jon doesn't, so presumably he needs someone to tell him. Is this Bran's pivotal role?

Perhaps? Probably. That's probably why he can't learn about it yet. He needs to know everything.

What if R+L is true, who is to say that Jon is a bastard. R+L may have had a little wedding in that tower. The Targaeryan's wedded the sisters and brothers so lets say there would take more then one. The tower must have had a little town there and a sept with records. The only living person out side any locals that may know is Howland Reed, one of Ned's friends and the only other one that lived at the Tower of Joy.

I dunno, all the Targaryans (sp) were blonde-haired, right? And we already saw Jon burn his hand in an earlier season. I'm voting that it's not true. But, I do expect some sort of interesting twist/surprise.

that was Jon Snow(Stark). Revitalization brings us Jon Starkgaryen.

Maybe a flaming arrow hits him, he survives it (nice Ygrette tie in) and his hair turns grey.

it's no coincidence that they are showing Bran's flashbacks/visions at the same time that Jon Snow is being brought back from the dead...I'm sure Bran will find out who Jon's parents really are and communicate that to Jon through the trees...then Jon will take his new name (Jon Stark? Jon Targaryen?)

If the rules of genetics apply in Westeros, blonde hair plus dark hair = dark hair almost 100% of the time unless the dark hair has a recessive light hair gene and then it is 50/50. Remember that is how Ned figured out Robert's bastards. They all had the same genetic traits.
