The only one I hate watched was Falling Skies. I didn't technically hate it I guess, and it wasn't "so bad it's good" either. It was more " I'm fascinated with how bad this is". Strange times.

I liked it a lot for the first couple of seasons. Then it just kind of collapsed under it's own increasingly complex narrative. Which is a fate that often befalls such "high concept" serialized shows. Takes a pretty sharp writers room to keep all those balls in the air for that long. The FS writers just didn't have the chops. But, like Brother Tack, I hung in there 'till the bitter end.

Just like I'm probably going to end up doing for this show. I just hope I live long enough to see a sharp stick finally plunged into its head. If the numbers are still acceptable to AMC, it might run for another 10 years.

I liked the latest episode a lot, for me it was the best episode in quite awhile.

However, i personally HATE the character of ALPHA. I hate the character, the dialogue, her look, her accent, everytime she is on screen i do not like it.

I also thought this episode was well done and really liked it. Alpha was great as always' the Carol parts with her seeing stuff was real good. Negan was great and I wish they would use him more. He has the best Humor.

I'm another one of the three. I was happy that they improved the CGI after season 1. There were a whole bunch of essentially post-apocalyptic shows on at one time:

Revolution
Falling Skies
The navy ship one with the virus. WTH was it called?
Was there a 4th?

For those talking about the repetitiveness of the plots on this show... it mostly follows the repetitiveness of the comics fairly faithfully. Sure, some characters in one and not the other, some died that didn't or vice-versa... but the larger arc is still lather-rinse-repeat of how the comic story evolved... but also the comic ended fairly recently... so they are closer to the end than the beginning by a wide margin I'd say.

They have Fear and the new spinoff to explore new stories in the universe... but Walking Dead how has a natural end in probably 2 seasons (counting this one) if they wanted to go that route... and others have said, even declining ratings this show is still the highest rated on cable... so what would they try to replace it with that they'd think would pull even those lesser numbers? There's no logical reason to cancel a show unless the actors/showrunners want to quit OR they have a sure-fire replacement that they strongly feel would get the same or better ratings.

What I'm curious now that the comic has ended, though... will they follow that ending to the end OR keep the show going and develop new stories that the comic didn't tell? IF the ratings are strong enough I could see them doing that... or if their other two spinoffs are doing well enough, I could see them letting this one go at that point.

I think many of us could list high rated / good viewership shows that were ended .. IMO, one of the reasons WD continues on is the ratings, sure .. combined with what I understand is a relatively low budget production cost .. so, essentially, a cash cow for AMC ..

Networks that take the route of ending a show logically and on a high note, moving on with something else, although it can be disappointing to viewers that enjoy that show, for me anyway, gain a certain degree of respect for maintaining at least a degree of artistic integrity .. just my opinion ..

I can't think of any that the network ended except when the cast all wanted to end it... like Friends or Seinfeld where they went out with good ratings but the actors wanted to quit... Big Bang Theory most recently, same reason... and to a lesser extent this year with Supernatural... All shows that the network was fine to keep going but the main actors wanted to call it quits after a long run and go out on a high note.

But shows where the actors want to keep going... I can't think of any network cancelling a show with good ratings.

I appreciate and want artistic integrity in what I watch, but networks are businesses designed to make money, so I can't see TWD ending as long as it returns a profit. I have no idea what the income statement or balance sheet looks like but I think they will remain profitable for the foreseeable future with this show.

I am not buying that walkers can take down a fortified wall. I know, for this one the wall was weakened by a tree, but they show this a lot. The walkers come up to the wall and they always say, "It will not hold long." Why? The walkers are not pushing against it, they are not bracing their feet and pushing as a group, the first line comes up and they pound on it with their fist, lightly too they are walkers after all. The second group comes up and they again are not pushing they are behind the first, smooshed into the openings where they can, trying to walk forward. Repeat and that is all, a few lines back and the walkers are going to be just standing there. Get enough of them and the ones in the front would be squashed against the wall seeing as how fragile they are. Just because there are thousands or hundreds of walkers does not mean all of them are contributing to the pressure against the wall, just the few in the front are.

I agree that they could do a better job of showing how this happens. Conceptually, if they are like water flowing against the wall, that would be a lot of pressure. I think of movies like World War Z as doing this sort of thing well.

Yeah, I saw a little bit of Talking Dead and he was one of the guests. Seemed to have intelligent things to say. Are you saying that as director, he would have been the one to push for the interesting camera shots, as opposed to something being in the script? I don't know how this stuff works.
