Although, that might make for some good TV. But I think he would be neutered to much, they don't interact with the other contestants that much and is really just up to them to complete the challenges. He probably didn't want to be on it because of that.

Aaaaaaaaghhhhh! Rachel had been purged from my memory banks and now she’s back. Nooooo! Ditto for Eliza.

It will be interesting to see Janelle outside of the Big Brother environment. She seems to be quite intelligent.

Also, let’s see how Rupert does in the “real” world.

And the Fun Bunch is back! Let’s see if they maintain their positive energy now that they are not rookies anymore.

Disregard. These comments were meant for the Survivor thread.

Lol. Yes, indeed. That was meant for the Survivor thread. But with all the past Survivor contestants, maybe TAR will start holding tribal councils.

Saw the trailer during Survivor. Looks like it could be a good season. While I don't know anything about BB, will be good to see some of these old survivor contestants return.

Rachael just as annoying as ever.
Her sister might be worse.

She’s just as bad as ever. She hasn’t mellowed out after all these years.

The Rupert team is going to have a short shelf life in this game if they can’t navigate. If it wasn’t for the cramps dude, they’d be out.

Just watched this show for the first time. My fiancee likes Big Brother so I struggle through it, but man, they sure do find some shallow, stupid people for that show. I know that's kinda the point of the show in a lot of ways (watching a train wreck). She also got me into Survivor, which tends to have a bit more integrity so it's easier for me to accept spending my time on it. So yeah, with this mash up, she suggested I might like Amazing Race. Okay, not 100% ridiculous, but I did spend a decent chunk of it cringing (mostly from the vapid BB people, dear God, Rachel is just, no.). Then those narrow brunettes (sorry don't know names yet) seem like genuinely awful people. Finally, the one lady that said she was a life coach (red flags!) and her husband that appears to live in the gym...yeah, I hate to be so judgy based on so little, but some people can rub you the wrong way real quick. I like the global aspect of it. It at least has interest from that POV. I'll watch the 2nd episode, but I predict this is going to be one of those shows where I'm half watching, half looking at my phone.

As a Fan since Season One, I thought the first episode was somewhat bland .. Rupert and his wife are clearly out of their element, although I was surprised how quickly he scaled the "Mt Fuji" challenge ..

Generally, the first episode on Race is all cheery and happy, with energetic Teams raring to go .. then, it begins to become more and more of a fight with each leg ..

I know nothing on the BB folks, but they sure come across as a bunch of poseurs ..

Well, since I don't know them, I was attempting to give them a little benefit of the doubt ..

OK, I do kind of remember Rachel from past Race's .. she seemed to be a whiny little biatch .. at least, that's what stood out to me ..

TAR is sedate compared to other reality shows when it comes to competitors sniping at each other.

I think the returning TAR people have an advantage over the BB and Survivor since they’ve run the race already.

That being said, the first team eliminated was a TAR team but they were past their “prime”.

I enjoyed the episode, although I would prefer all new contestants, rather than retreads. For some reason it felt as if the show was much longer than an hour. By the time they got to Japan I thought how are they going to fit in all of the challanges.

I don't mind the occasional all-stars season. They bring back some fan favorites whom you don't mind watching again. The Globetrotters team was in this category.

But they do engage in more stunt casting in recent seasons, like the social media stars that one season or pairing up total strangers with each other (I think that's how Becca and Floyd were originally paired up). Or bringing in casts from other reality shows, which they've been doing more and more.

TAR's ratings are marginal so CBS hasn't immediately renewed the show. This year they're airing it late and in previous seasons, they showed two episodes a week, kind of "burning off" the episodes that season.

So if they have to resort to stunt casting to keep the show on the air, I can tolerate it a bit.

Rupert, Rupert, Rupert. You weren’t in last place and still lost. And it wasn’t even a mental challenge.

And the silicone sisters, ugh. They u-turned Team Fun because they dissed them in Tokyo. This is not Big Brother. U-turn a team because they are stronger, not because they hurt your feelings.

Team Fun seems a little subdued this time around. I think they are feeling the pressure to do well the second time around. I figured they’d do well in the alphabet challenge since they’re both musically inclined and probably have an ear for picking up different sounds.

So I understand that Chris and Bret are big fans of the "Legend from Survivor"... but who the hell is Ruffert???

To anyone interested in a Google Chromebox or Chromebook..
Be aware that these boxes run a variant of Linux and DO NOT support HDCP!!!
This means no support for HD on most streaming services. I wish I would have known this beforehand....

I was surprised just how well pretty much everyone did in the Alphabet Challenge ..

I hated to see Rupert and his wife go, but the writing was on the wall from the get go ..

Also a bit surprised there was a U Turn this early on .. and I don't know if I missed it, but was there a "Courtesy Of" photo on the sign .. ??

Yes. They were a lot smaller than the Victims’ photos. Team Fun knew it was the Silicone Sisters and Tyler and Corey knew it was Team Fun.

Tyler and Corey did a great job after the U-Turn .. the Afganinmals are a good team, but they do get on my nerves sometimes ..

Tension and in-fighting should commence soon ..

When I saw that I said "how is it possible to memorize all of that when it sounds nearly identical."
I was shocked to see so many breeze through it.

Team Fun with a big win! It’s more fun when you win, I guess.

Tyler sure didn’t try very hard on that fishing challenge. The Silicone Sisters are just so annoying. They’re all talk. They were going to crush the dance challenge because they were cheerleaders in high school and one was a yoga instructor. Ok. The Big Brother couple are doing well and are surprisingly positive.
