Worst case scenario:

Spin-off series "Grimm: The Next Generation" featuring the toddlers of Juliette, Adalind, and Trubel.

I just watched the last two episodes. I enjoyed Heartbreaker, but holy cow was Hibernaculum awful. The idea that frozen bodies were being discovered all over town and no one thought anything of it was absurd. And the whole chase to the barn, pile them back up scene was laughable. Very disappointing.

The shark is certainly jumped. It's selfish and small of me to say it, but they need to kill off Russell and Bree-the only good reasons to watch the show-so I can dispense with watching any further without guilt.

I think we can chalk another show off to the meddling of the NBC brass. They do it so well.

Ah, but this episode also had the most wonderful plot development we've seen in years!

Now that Juliette is going to have Renard's baby, the Royals can simply take hers instead of Adalind's, kill Adalind, and leave Portland forever, never to be heard from again. Yes, please.

Adalind is preggo with Nick's baby
Juliette will become pregnant with Renard's spawn
and we'll learn that Truble and Wu had a tryst and she's carrying his kid.

Not Grimm's finest hour to be sure. The show is starting to have great difficulty juggling its "mythos" story lines and it "murder of the week" stories. The show needs to simply ramp up to a conclusion of sorts with the Royals and also with some of the other mostly-dropped threads. Too much has been left out there, just dangling, and the rest has started to become a bit too soapy.

The result has been certain characters are now acting out of character, others are getting entirely sidelined, or are being forced into stories just to keep them around. Still other characters are becoming just downright unwatchable. This show is still at a place where it could recover, but it is going the wrong way in a hurry.

Hey, they can always cast a spell, and magically swap babies while still in the womb!! Jules can carry Nick and Addie's baby, while Addie can have Renny's! Meanwhile, Wu was standing too close during the spellcasting, and Rosalee gets impregnated by him, leading Monroe to move in with Trubel.

They either actually do something with the Royals instead of continuing to meander season after season or just drop it since it's been going nowhere for 4 season. As for the baby/relationship plots, those need to go, that's not what most people who watch this show for.

Biggest nit for me was Renard falling to the floor after the apparition clobbered him and we never see him again.?? I also loved how U.S. - Oregon Route 4 was a country asphalt lane without even a center stripe. Sorry, we don't have those around here.

Don't laugh, about 20 years ago I told someone from NJ we had freeways out here and they were surprised.

Wow this Fridays episode was a throw away episode which had very little to do with plot advancement. We have such an abundance of Wesen why did we need a vengeful spirit. My feeling is the showrunner instead should have thrown away the script and got with the program, literally.

The creature of the week cases have unfortunately been getting weaker and the main plot isn't very interesting.

And from the previews it looks like only more babies and royals! don't know which is worse. I know one thing for sure, I'd very much like Adaline gone! I mean don't get me wrong, she's a looker it's just I don't see at all what her character ads to the show, and then to make her pregnant again

I still do, because there are other shows out there that finds more creative ways around pregnancies unlike this show which has repeated something it's done recently and that's still ongoing if I might add.

By all means... I was just offering an off-ramp for someone who might not have known it wasn't the writer's big idea to write it in. However, I also think that if they had used the usual "creative ways" to "work around" her pregnancy, there would just be complaints: the story-line was just abandoned or Adalind should be around more and taking a larger role in things or why haven't we seen another cat-fight with Juliette yet?

Oh I don't know more about seeing more of Adalind since she's already off in her own little subplot, remember she spent most of the season trying to get her powers back and have a baby. As for the cat fight with Juliette, it's just that, just to facilitate more unnecessary Juliette drama.

I wouldn't be so sure, if the general attitude towards Claire Coffee in the writers' room is anything like the attitude towards her in this thread.

"Hey Claire, we have this great idea for your character next season, but you're going to need to do some... 'method acting' to pull it off. What do you say? Shall we help you get into the role?"

My problem is definitely more of the writing, but yeah, I don't see a point of her character, she's just being used to pop out babies and stir up more horrible Juliette drama.

I'm sure they are somehow "getting off" on the simple fact of being able to torture the audience with this character.

Ditto

Won't be back for more next season. As I raved a week ago, NBC botches shows with what were originally interesting concepts with wearying regularity. The shows look good, with that reliable NBC color and overall slick appearance, but they break like seventies Ameican cars.

They do a little better with half-hour sitcoms, but they usually let them go on several seasons too long.

It also doesn't help that the writing amplifies the problems.
