Any chance the ex-girlfriend and/or kid could be the one in the grave?

Kinda funny that DC doesn't have any popular movies they can reference so they have to go with Marvel.

While I thought the Flash episode was a fun excuse to just jam in lots of sequences for characters to riff on each other, this one definitely went the Arrow way and scaled it back to be more down to Earth.

Which is why I thought the Egypt scenes looked really hokey. At this point the only thing I like about the Hawkers are the wings. They look reasonably good on screen. The characters, actors and general mythology feel like they were dragged in from Smallville. It might not have been so bad if the Egypt setting had been shot well or if they had bothered to have the characters seem even vaguely like they belonged in that era, but it wasn't convincing in any way. This season on Arrow it feels like the set design has really taken a budget hit.

I didn't mind the saga of Oliver's kid, Amell did an okay job, but it felt at odds with the comic-y comicness of the Hawkers. I was really hoping it was the end of Olicity too. Thanks Barry! Next time you run back in time and confusingly appear at the same point as your past self without your past self being there too, don't give Oliver relationship advice.

Bonus points this episode for the STAR Labs security reference. The thing is they keep throwing a nod to the audience about how lax it is, but then the writers still do it. Also points for the title card mash-ups. Flash had a green arrow flying through the type and Arrow had some Flash lightning wrapping around the type. I thought they were cool little touches.

I guess we know what happens to Luke Skywalker in The Force Awakens now too. He took some time off to play Joker Trickster on next week's Flash again.

I guess I had DC too much on the brain as well as the fact they shoot up in Vancouver, as I took it as a reference to Clark Kent's farm from Smallville.

I was thinking the same thing about the ex-girlfriend. Since Barry seemed to know the person in the grave, if Barry at some point meets her, I think the odds go up.

I'm not that familiar with Green Arrow canon. Did Oliver Queen have a son in the comics? It would be interesting if the boy ends up in Star City with Oliver.

Was going to mention this myself... My money thus far has been on Lance, given the arc they have been giving that character... but with the re-introduction of Ollie's ex, I think she is perhaps even a better candidate. A character that can be killed off that would warrant a big funeral, but wouldn't have Oliver in tears at the grave, but that would have him mad and seeking payback

I am kind of surprised no mention of the Merlyn final scene... looks like he was in on things and not in the good way.

I don't think he was working with Savage. In typical Merlyn fashion I saw it as him taking advantage of an opportunity after the fact. Bringing Savage back from the dead (mix one part Lazarus juice, one part immortal bad guy dust, two parts plot convenience) will put Savage in Merlyn's debt and whatever mystical secrets he has could be useful.

Do you remember which episode it was? I remember the scene, and at the time I saw it, I just assumed it was his mother. I want to see it again.

First episode this season.

http://arrow.wikia.com/wiki/Green_Arrow

"Six months later, Oliver is seen standing by a tombstone. Barry Allen apologizes for missing the funeral, saying he was dealing with Zoom. Oliver says he now understands that the darkness is his responsibility and vows that, "I’m going to kill him". He tells Barry he wants to be left alone and starts shedding tears."

I forget if it was arrow or flash episode. But, the scene with Laurel jumping out of the van with the others and doing her scream, she just looks rediculous. They all kind of look rediculous now when together in their cutsie costumes. 1 or 2 of them I can look past, but when all of them get together it just looks too corny.

Oliver needs to tell felicity to go tell his baby mama that she's a snooping untrustworthy b, and she inadvertently broke his promise for him.

I know the timeline has been reset, but still. That whole interaction annoyed me.

Waddya mean? Did you not see the earlier post in this thread? It was the most epic of all of Laurel's scream shots! The camera focusing on her pointless heroic leap into the foreground was made only more epic by the fact you could barely hear it in the sound mix and it had no discernible effect on anything!

Just once the shot needs to include Oliver et al. rolling around on the ground in pain, as Laurel gripes over her comms device, "Felicity, you forgot to pack the earplugs again!"

I watch these 2 shows on Hulu and it came out loud and clear and annoying on my stereo speakers.

I've always feared canaries for their dreadful screams.

I liked comic books when I was a kid, and I enjoy the real action versions of them. But, some of the purists that these creators are appeasing by leaving something like this in, need to take it down a notch and stop crying when they cut some stuff out.

Of the mid-season finales I've seen (Arrow, Flash, Agents of Shield), I liked Arrow the best. They seem to be the only one to really go all in for the big cliffhanger.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I'll admit Felicity is still my favorite character on the show. My favorite scene was the interaction between Felicity and her Mom when her Mom finds the ring.

Still, the show is called Arrow, not Felicity (damn, if only the actual Felicity show had starred Emily Bett instead of Keri Russell and had been fun instead of continually depressing). It probably would be most appropriate for his story arc if she actually died.

I could certainly see leaving her dead for awhile like they did with Oliver last year.

Oh, and the plot line I would like to see: It turns out that Rip Hunter from Legends of Tomorrow is actually Felicity's father, but becoming her father is still in his future. So he has to travel back in time to become her Dad and then also uses time travel to save Felicity after she dies (I sure he can do wonders with access to 41st Century technology.)

So. Wasn't the gang in the gas chamber about 2x as long as the dude who died? And apparently the algae has no side effects if you are exposed to it for a few minutes. Nice.

So far this season they have gone out of their way to make us think it is Felicity that dies...........so clearly its not going to be her

Of course not. When the grave scene was shown in the first episode, it said 6 months from now. It hasn't been 6 months.

They also took time to show scenes of both Felicity being rushed to the emergency room and Oliver standing over a fresh grave again in the preview, which is certainly a no-no in TV land: you don't tell people how the cliffhanger is going to end two months before the second episode airs. As such, Felicity is going to make a typical TV recovery, while the grave will be for somebody else (probably Lance, since even he said that his cover was blown in this episode).

I'm not saying Keri Russell wasn't hot, I just couldn't get into that show. I think I made it most of the way through the first season when it was first on before giving up. When it showed up on Netflix I gave it another try, but gave up after three episodes.

I would much rather the show called Felicity had been subtitled: Felicity Smoak - The College Years. I think a show about her awkward adventures in hacking, dating, and partying at MIT could have been fun. And, of course, she would have had to cross paths with a few DC heroes and villains along the way.
