Good deal. I know about some of those too wink.gif
Thankfully I got all that stuff out of my system as a teenager. It's a good thing to experience at least. I'm sure most of us experimented as a teenager/young adult.

Interesting you spoke about the injection, I was confused about what was in the syringe.

I'm a little confused on one point - who is the action movie star, and how does Mickey know him?

The action movie star was the same guy who had the break-in at his mansion, right? Mickey's "other" son broke in about 3 weeks ago. Then the son got his chest stapled.

He was the guy who killed that lady some years ago and sent Mickey to prison. Right? That's why Mickey was in the audience harassing him, and selling the script to him.

Maybe somebody else could rephrase this for me, my mind isn't working right now.

But I thought it was James Woods' character (Sully) who was the guy who killed Ray's GF? The movie star doesn't look old enough to have killed someone 20 years ago.

EDIT: I think I'm confusing the two murders smile.gif I think Mickey actually did kill Ray's GF Colleen in the past, and then Ray and Ezra had (Sean? Sully?) kill some other woman and frame Mickey for it. Whether or not the former was the motive for the latter has not been explained.

Exactly. I think there were two different murders. You're right.

What an episode:

The scene in the Hair Salon with Sully's Mom under the Hair Dryer, and Tiny "getting squeezed"...
The second Bar scene, the Fat guy can throw some shots, and Ray can take "a beatin".
The 2 girls having Lunch, and Ray's wife talking about Colleen.... The way she said it, referring to Ray was hilarious..
Ray re-appears from Boston and picks his tipsy wife up at the Police station. She is terrific in her role
James Woods joins the show... Most always a good thing
Lots going on this week..

Some good previews of the New Homeland at the end too...

Hate to say this but I'm out. I see this as a rehashed Sopranos show which tries to be flashy with colorful characters.
A big problem is that the main character is utterly unlikeable (unlike Tony Soprano who had his moments).
Not anywhere as good as the Sopranos and I wasn't a huge fan of that show either.
I promise I won't come back and complain.

I think some of the producers may have been involved with The Brotherhood, which was an earlier attempt to copy Sopranos by Showtime.

I am still loving Ray Donovan. Ray is a thug but he does have his good points. Don't know if Ray is going to kill the kid who hooked up with Ray's daughter but I wouldn't want to be that kid.

As I understand it, the killing in Boston, 25 years earlier, of Ray's girlfriend was the fault of the now moviestar, Sean somebody. Ray, however, arranged to have the girl's death pinned on Mickey. I think that Sully, played by James Woods, was the father of the young girl who took a header off of a roof.

I thought that was Ray's sister? I thought Ray's sister committed suicide, and talking a wild guess, it may have been because of abuse by Mickey but I have nothing to point that way, just a guess. I'm a bit unclear on who was killed right now. Ezra and Ray conspired to pin a murder on Mickey, but who it was that was killed, I don't know. The person that did that killing was Sean the movie star. That person was somehow closely connected to Sully, but who it was, I don't think we know yet.

I *think* it goes like this...

Ray had a sister (and has a daughter) named Bridget. His sister Bridget committed suicide some time ago by jumping off of a roof. We don't (nor does Ray) know why she committed suicide. My guess is he thinks Mickey has something to do with it -indirectly.

Ray used to have a girlfriend, Colleen. Colleen was shot and killed 20 years ago by Sean Stevens, the actor. Ray, Ezra, and Sean conspired to frame Mickey for the murder (I believe they mentioned that the gun used in the murder was owned by Mickey). Mickey was convicted and sent away to prison for 20 years.

We don't yet know why Sean killed Colleen or why Ray, Ezra, and Sean framed Mickey for the murder.

My guess is that Colleen was Sully's daughter and that is ONE of the reasons Ray knew that Sully hated Mickey enough to want to kill him. Along with Mickey ratting on the rest of Sully’s relatives until they all were sent to prison and some (or all) died there.

Van Miller, the "very odd – but entertaining" FBI agent, has figured out that Sean is the real killer of Colleen and that Ray and Ezra were accomplices.

At least that's my take so far.

I can see the parallels of this show with the Sopranos. I wasn't too sure about this show after the first few episodes, but the past two, plus the addition of James Woods -whose always good in everything - has kept me interested enough to continue. But it could never be as good as the Sopranos.

That's a good point. I had thought all along that the girl who dived from the roof had been Ray's sister. I had missed, though, that the girl who Sean had killed was somebody else. So I guess what we learned in this week's episode was that the girl Sean killed had been Ray's girlfriend. It's getting harder and harder to tell the players without a scorecard.smile.gif

The only two things I don't understand based on that explanation are:

1)Sean seems far too young to have killed someone 20+ years ago.

2)Why is Sully in hiding if he didn't kill someone?

1) The actor who plays Sean Stevens, Johnathon Schaech, was born in September, 1969. He is nearly 44 years old. 20 years ago he was nearly 24....

2) Sully is a mob kingpin, kind of a Whitey Bulger...

I guess because Ray saw an opportunity to get Mickey pay for what he allegedly did to his sister.

Edit,

Oh and btw, of course Ray won't kill that kid. I bet he is getting him straight into some kind of rehab.

Or taking him on some sort of "scared straight" adventure like showing him where and how his mother was living, and died.

It's almost like Sully is Whitey Bulger - he's even going to CA now. Wonder if Woods will be back next season and that will be the core of it.

I'm wondering about a tie-in to the neighbor kid and Sean, at least thematically - Sean would have been about the kid's age when he did whatever he did.

Eve: I thought I was through getting involved with men who were trouble. Falling in love on a look. I can't look at you.

Mickey: You have perfection about you. Your eyes have music. Your heart's the best part of your body. And when you move, every man, woman and child is forced to watch.

I hadn't thought about the notion that Ray might have taken the kid to rehab but it makes sense. When Ray got him, the kid was in a lot of trouble and clearly needed help. Maybe Ray will arrange for the help he needs. The kid needs to be as far away as possible from Re-Kon, who kept giving the kid drugs.

That's what is so good about Ray is you never know what Ray's gonna do . That upsets Ray's wife to no end smile.gif

Ezra said that they also set Mickey up for the girl's murder because he stole 200 grand from Sully and they were afraid that Sully was going to kill him, so prison would be the safest place for him. Van knows that Sean is the real killer of Colleen because I think Mickey was wearing a wire when he talked to Ezra.
