It's refreshing to see the show-runners let their hair down a bit and have some fun with AOS which has taken itself way too seriously in the past. Just like DC's legends of Tomorrow which is loaded with self deprecating humor, AOS is better off with a little less serious tone.

Speaking of humor, less serious tone, etc.... has Agent May ever smiled on AOS?

Once, maybe twice...it seemed like a big deal at the time.

Anyone experience audio issues with Friday night's episode? Went to watch yesterday on my Tivo DVR and it was horrible - music overwhelming voices, sound cutting in and out. It was unwatchable. Don't *think* it's my Tivo as other recordings before/after are fine. Guess I'll have to watch OnDemand this week before Xfinity cuts off the Tivo On-Demand feature.

Nothing seemed to be unusual in my recording via YouTube TV, though their audio is always 2-channel, and I use my AVR's ProLogic II setting to create a surround field.

So weepy and it's all about this great love.

So that's how they make it back to earth and on the same time? It wasn't clear in the end but they end up on earth together and now they're going to go after notCoulson?

I guess in the end, the real Coulson will be back too.

This has a lot of soap opera elements for a Disney show. If there was actually like HBO/Showtime type of love scenes, since all these characters are sleeping with each other, that might be what it takes for Disney to finally jettison it.

A little soap opera is okay and can help create an overall story arc, Daredevil Season 2 crossed the line and was nearly unwatchable, the only reason I kept watching it was the hope that season 3 would be better and I liked season 1. I hope AOS doesn't use too much soap opera.

I forgot to post about this episode where they finally reunited. I really hated the story with Fitzsimmons and the angry chronicom lady. That storyline seemed rushed and contrived. I wish they went about getting them together any other way. Leading up to and following that little bit, no issues.

Change Daisy's and Simmon's hair. No sir, I don't like it.

SHRIKES ON A PLANE!!!

And, wasn't that the shrimpy Saturday detention kid from Breakfast Club, all growed up now as the filthy rich villain "Mr. Kitson?"

Loved the VERY cool CGI (some of the most detailed for this series yet) with the inflight Zephyr and Quinjet cruising above the clouds! That kind of stuff really adds to the Marvel Comics Universe look and feel of the AoS scenarios. The plotline seems to be heading for something epic on the scale of one of the Avengers flicks, and since those are over (for now, anyway) maybe the showrunners see this as a chance to "pull out all the stops."

Yes but putting the two shrikes together was idiotic.

I rather enjoyed Anthony Michael Hall in The Dead Zone series. But yeah, he is the perennial guest actor, by and large, and it never surprises me when he pops up in a role like this, one that almost any actor could play.

I'm very much enjoying this season, as it embraces both the need for as much weirdness as possible and the limitations of an obviously constricted budget to mine a vein of sci-fi fun that takes itself with just the right lack of seriousness.

AMH has gone from nerdy to menacing looking so he gets but parts as the villain.

They definitely saved budget on the mind prison episode. I’m glad that went fast. Now FitzSimmons get back to Earth, find more Monolith bits for their savior/captor and help the Chronicons save their race.

I’ve grown fond of Enoch. I feel bad for the abuse he takes from Fitz. Thought was a touching farewell. But I’m sure we’ll see him again.

For anyone who may have gotten behind on viewing Avengers flicks and AoS episodes, here's a nerd-fan-tastic 7-minute recap history of S.H.I.E.L.D and all that cool conjectural tech available to its agents:

And, I have to agree that we'll very likely see "Enoch" again; he's definitely become a fan favorite, and I notice they didn't kill him off this time. Or if not, maybe one of the Star Trek productions can use an extra Vulcan. It's easy to see how good he'd be in one of those roles!

A little smarter and a little more cohesive and I'd enjoy it more. I suppose Mack is still figuring things out as shield director and I should cut him some slack.

I liked other eps this season better than this one, a few fine moments but felt long, could have said the same thing in 30min and I think I'd have liked it better.

A little bit of something for everyone though.

Well I think that I'm done with AoS. I really tried to maintain interest in the last couple of episodes but found my focus waning less than halfway through. This is actually the third season in a row that I've not been excited about. It looks like there will be at least one more season for 2019/2020 but not for this cowboy. For those who are still enjoying AoS or are determined to stick with, I say good for you and happy viewing.

Last few seasons, SHIELD is just trying to survive, not really going on the offensive against bad guys.

One or more of them is always in danger of being separated from the other main cast members, by time, space, reality vs. virtual reality, etc.

That has become the norm, that this team will risk everything to get everyone back. So the season-long arcs have been about getting everyone back.

What the hell are they going to do if they ever get everyone back for a year or two? Great things? Just fight for whatever crumbs the Marvel movies leave for them?

For whatever reasons, Disney just wants to keep this show on the air. So viewers get photogenic cast members and some bargain CGI.

There are some theories, like the show is really popular in China or something like that.

Maybe Disney figures the Marvel Universe is so lucrative, they can carry at least one TV show. Once Disney+ is online, I'm sure they'll do more. And I was going to say if Agents of SHIELD is ever canceled, it could go to streaming. But Disney owns ABC so they get to decide that.

Probably the most unbelievable plot moment of the season will be that Fitz could not MacGyver a communications device from an entire alien spaceship's worth of equipment and technology -- a ship he had already done extensive engineering and repair work on.

Yeah, but the real "hairy"problem now is Izel in that pink fright wig that was no doubt provided to the production by some K-Mart in Bakersfield:

Best line of the latest ep was from Evil Twin Coulson to Agent May after they agree to assist each other:

May: "...you're in charge, we're just here to help."

Evil Coulson: "yeah, but I know what YOU do...you just glare all steely-eyed like that and then beat people senseless..."

I watch on hulu so I think they come out week or a couple days after air. I figured Davis is somehow Izel. I said to myself, when Jaco and Davis agreed to attack Izel, "Davis is dead." But then May's final visit to Sarge was unexpected. I don't know what to make of those two situations, other than Izel ain't dead.

We just don't know what Izel, and for that matter Sarge, can do in terms of shape shifting. When Izel and Sarge were talking over the comm, Izel said, "Whose skin are you saving now? Just the one you are wearing, I hope." Sarge could be "wearing" Coulson's skin, just like Izel could be wearing May's or Davis's as it suits her (no pun intended ).
