"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" on CW

Premiere Date: Thursday Jan 21st 2016, 8pm

When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known? DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW stars Victor Garber ("The Flash," "Alias"); Brandon Routh ("Arrow," "Superman Returns"); Arthur Darvill ("Doctor Who"); Caity Lotz ("Arrow"); Ciarra Renee ("Pippin"); Franz Drameh ("Edge of Tomorrow"); with Dominic Purcell ("The Flash," "Prison Break"); and Wentworth Miller ("The Flash," "Prison Break"). Based on the characters from DC Comics, DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti ("Arrow," "The Flash," upcoming "Pan"), Marc Guggenheim ("Arrow," "Eli Stone," "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters"), Andrew Kreisberg ("Arrow," "The Flash," "Eli Stone," "Warehouse 13") and Sarah Schechter ("Arrow," "The Flash," upcoming "Pan").

---

Since the show has been officially announced and it pulls in characters from both Arrow and The Flash, I thought it would a good idea to start consolidating the information now instead of having it split between two threads.

Looks much more intriguing and watchable than Supergirl and maybe even the Flash. I like the time travel elements.

But what do they need Heatwave for if they have Firestorm?

Firestorm is half an old man, whose going to light the barbecue if Firestorm is injured?

Caity Lotz returns as the White Canary! I can almost forgive the show runners for killing her off in Arrow. Maybe people will ease off Katie Cassidy now that Sarah's not really dead.

Yah I'm curious how they are doing half of Firestorm. He has to combine somehow. No sighting of Robbie Amell. In comics, the second person has been known to change, but I don't know how they plan to pull this off.

Also interesting to see Oliver standing before the group that included Sara, so he is obviously aware at that point of her resurrection in the Lazarus Pit. And also glad to see Atom is finally shrinking down. Didn't realize Capt. Cold was going to be a good guy. Thought he was the primary nemesis.

I thought White Canary was a Villain ?

Can they, please, continue to minimize that ATOM suit.....down to the original look.

From what little they've shown... this show exceeds my expectations. IF done right, I could actually see it being better than Flash and Arrow... and I like both of those quite a bit.

I'm thinking the opposite will happen. Seeing more of Lotz will draw more comparisons to Cassidy.

I don't know what it is, but whenever Cassidy gets into the Black Canary costume, it's like she's dressing up for Halloween--even on a show based around comic book heroes. That plus the traditional whining her character has engaged in makes it hard to take her seriously--not exactly a bad-ass like Lotz. They try to differentiate her from Lotz by putting on that black lipstick and no eye-black under the mask, but I think that's what makes Cassidy look more ridiculous.

I see they're forgoing the mask altogether for Lotz. Good call.

I much prefer Lotz in her Black Canary costume though. My goodness! Cassidy can't hope to fill it out that way, so they de-empathized the area where she's, um.... lacking. Which is what Lotz's new costume will look like, apparently. Bad call.

Since this only appears to be scenes from the first couple of episides at most there is still time for Sara to get a mask. All the scenes shown are either fighting bad guys or in secluded locations. In public she might go back to a domino mask or league-style facekerchief thing.

I guess if all the action occurs at different time points too then people might forget who she is before they actually see her.

In the comics she covered the bottom half of her face with a white mask...

One of the biggest problems for the show (Arrow) was that Caity absolutely knocked it out of the park with her portrayal of the Canary. It just really showed how Cassidy was miscast for the role, although I am not a hater as much as some are around here.

Caity Lotz is a highly trained hip-hop dancer (has been in numerous music videos), a trained martial-artist, and also has a background in parkour. She has a grace and athleticism during her fight scenes that very few could hope to match.

Compared to Lotz, Cassidy definitely looks like she is playing a crimefighter vs being a crimefighter.

She must have used the material from the bottom half of her suit to make the mask!

Could be from one of those upfront presentation mini-movies they make just to sell the concept.

I love they brought Lotz back but I am not a huge fan of this White Canary costume. The white leather looks stiff and covers up too much.

True, but she might not wear it all the time. Not in this video anyway.

Maybe the last episode of the Flash somehow ties into this...

Well we know now it definitely does.

Some of the trailer scenes were taken from the finale and we got some direct reference to Rip Hunter and the time sphere.

The Flash finale also seemed to be trying to say that Ronnie somehow might be separated from the Firestorm matrix, which would explain why he is not in the trailer.

Pretty sure they quickly showed Hawkgirl there too... during that final minute of jumping around town to show crowd reactions...

Yeah, the clip of Hawkgirl looking up in the trailer was in the episode. Cold was there too.

Cold was in Central City with his goggles and gun in broad daylight, so he must have been up to something ...

Strange that the OP does not mention Grant is in this show at least partly. I am kinda concerned about those minions, I do not want it to be like Minute of Ultron and where the 'troops' are swiped away with ridiculous ease. Admittedly I played the trailer with the sound off so I am not sure how much the Reverse Flash is in this but he does not seem to be fighting anyone or how the good Captain convinces Barry to trust him again.

What I am saying in short is that for this show to be great it needs a great villain or villains to match this squad.

Uh, yeah, the sound is kinda important.

They already have a major villain who by all accounts is more potent than all the other DC villains CW has had so far.

Ok, his wiki page does not make him seem that powerful, super-intelligent I guess. Too bad's it's not Darkseid.

Of course depending on which actor they get it might not matter what his abilities are. He could be as dull as Ra's on Artow.

Crossover time. White Canary is going to be introduced in Arrow season 4 episode 8.

So I guess that episode should lead directly into Legends if the show is beginning in January-ish? Legends has a 15 episode order so far.
