I would be interested in reading some current reviews - most seem to be based on the first couple of episodes. At that point I would have given it a good review myself.

My loss of interest notwithstanding, it's definitely a step in the right direction for USA, and I hope the ratings encourage them to keep trying new things...

I'm part of another forum where people discuss the show. I haven't seen much flip flopping. Seems people that are in it have the same discussions we do here, mostly surrounded by the is he real/not real. That on top of the tech being portrayed well makes it appealing to those that usually are more tech savvy.

Yes, this episode was huge, and yeah, can't wait to see what comes next.

Also, I am really loving the soundtrack of this show, the M83 cut at the end was perfectly chosen for that scene.

As I commented a while back (Risky Business train sequence rip off) ...................... they are borrowing heavily from time to time from Tangerine Dream. Not that this is a bad thing, I love Tangerine Dream.

The relationship between Tyrell and Elliot/Mr. Robot is not what it seemed in previous episodes. Mr. Robot knows what's going on here but Elliot apparently doesn't. They need to talk.

Really no way it could have been the other way around. Unless the Amanda Seyfried character was hanging out with a 45 year old man growing up. I will admit I didn't put the Kat Dennings girl being his sister until she showed up in the ballet class with Elliot's girl. Anyone else think Orphan Black "sister kisser" after that scene by the ocean?
Glad I stuck it out, as they almost lost me with the 3rd and 4th episodes. Finally putting the Fight Club gimmick to rest should help advanced the plot. The American Psycho guy is really, really to weak. Can't even talk to a couple of cops for a few seconds and tell them something like, yeah we talked for a few minutes at the party about her husbands promotion and then I didn't see her for the rest of the night. His wife is a badass though. Using a fork to break her water as a diversion. The last few episodes have had some really great scenes. Just hope for more originality.

Yes, the wife is a badass for sure, she's been one of my favorite characters in the show, doesn't get much air time though, she definitely has it together.

Has the sinister couple's nationality been established? At first I thought German but now I'm not so sure.

I believe they speak a mix of Swedish and Dutch...it was discussed earlier. I don't think their nationality will play a part however.

A very good recap from Vulture,

Mr. Robot Recap: Did You Forget Who I Am?

Quote:
As Esmail has demonstrated throughout this first season, reality isn’t always accurate. This is abundantly clear in the 21st century: There is a distinction between online reality and IRL, and what appears real in both spheres might also be untrue. Think of catfishing, online scams, Ponzi schemes, and all the other machinations that exist in our dual worlds. This theme has been central to Mr. Robot, and this episode in particular was evidence that even when the truth is plainly presented and without bias, it’s still difficult to know the truth.

Also, hands up, who recognized the character of White Rose as being played by BD Wong? I had a nagging feeling I knew who it was but the persona of the character being played threw me off from deducing who it was, very nicely done.

I saw his name listed in the opening credits. So I was looking for him to show up.

Good catch. I suspected that White Rose might have been played by a man but didn't think about Wong and certainly didn't recognize him in women's clothing and under a layer of makeup. It was a good performance. Wong was suitably creepy and menacing as the androgynous White Rose.

Yes indeed, a very memorable character, although I only discovered it was him by reading the recap. When watching, I felt I knew who it was but just couldn't make the connection.

Not even close to Game of Thrones quality, but it has improved.

Just read the Gizmodo recap and the reviewer thinks this episode proves Mr. Robot is REAL.

WTF! Am I watching the same show?

My head is still spinning from the possibilities presented by the last episode...

Kind of like drinking too much tequila then trying to think rationally.

Must... stop... trying... to... make.... sense.... of.... the.... Mr.Robot... universe....

I stopped trying to figure it out some time ago; still like it, though.

...but I liked True Detective 2 as well.

I can sort of see why they would think that. If they hadn't harped on the fact that his Dad died as a central theme in the show I would say it would be plausible. But we now know Mr. Robot is the image of his Dad. Him being alive and real would undermine the reason why they're trying to take down Evil Corp.

Of course he didn't know Darlene was his sister so I suppose anything is possible. I guess he could be a horribly unreliable narrator who convinced himself that his father is dead, but that would require him to be misrepresenting his relationship with Angela to the viewers. As well as Tyrell's conclusion that he was after revenge.

I wrote this for the IMDB boards and I guess the writers could cheat and make him real, but these 2 things would be hard to explain

Having been reading the various recaps around the web and can't believe anyone still thinks Mr Robot is real. Gizmodo, IGN, Vulutre all think he is real or are still unsure.
There has only been one time where both Mr. Robot and Elliot where both addressed at the same time, and that was the drug coma dream scene. So it was meaningless. All the other times was Elliot acting like Elliot, Elliot projecting Mr. Robot, or Elliot have conversations with Mr Robot in his head.
You can not rely pn any info through Elliot as he schizophrenic. Just like the guy in Fight Club. The only two pieces of proof you need to know he is not real are:

1) The whole reason Elliot and his sister are doing this is that they blame E-Corp for their father's death. He has no reason to fake his death, not tell his children and then come back and help them and they don't recognize their own father in the group.

2) You can't dispute physical proof. Mr. Robot looks the same and is even wearing the same clothes as in the pictures from Elliot's childhood as he is now.

Here is a pic from Elliot's childhood. Let's be generous and say he is about 10 years old here. Notice the jacket, the undershirts, the hairline, the slight graying of the beard.

http://s16.postimg.org/ksovsqkh1/Scr...g_14_14_47.jpg

Now present day, Elliot is an IT guy at Allsafe and had to graduate college so lets be generous again and say he is about 25 years old now. Here he is talking to Mr Robot at the arcade. Notice same jacket, same undershirts, same hairline, same graying of beard some 15 years later.

http://s17.postimg.org/c0hnquua7/Scr...g_14_14_53.jpg

The only way for Mr. Robot to be real is time travel, clone or he is a Robot

Bonus Tip: Mr.Robot's password word for the encrypted family photos was most likely Mr.Robot.

Well I came away from the last episode thinking Eliot was the alter ego of MR. Robot -- who is real--- and suffering from DID.
