But spending the day with Trenton's little brother convinced him that he didn't need to do it after all. Gave him a reason to live. That's when he re-built his computer, hacked Mobley's brother, and gave him the bag of pills so the brother would have no financial reason not to give Mobley a proper funeral.
He had to hack the brother before buying the drugs, he already had the drugs before meeting the kid and Hard Andy said his stuff is pure cause he gets it straight from the Pharm ie: the Brother.
The white van bringing back the jacket is curious thing

Yeah hacking the brother led him to connect with the dealer in the first place.

So he bought enough pure morphine to finance the funeral, not just to kill himself.

Yeah, you're right about hacking the bro to get to the drug dealer in the first place. I don't think he bought all that extra morphine to finance Mobley's funeral though. If he had gone through with the suicide down on the beach, Mobley's brother would never have gotten the pills. And when he first went to see the brother, he did't realize how hostile he was going to be to Mobley, going even so far as not paying for his own bro's funeral. I think Elliot wanted to make sure he had enough pills to do the suicide correctly. He was going to quaff them all.

All that morphine must have cost a pretty penny though, and Elliot was perfectly willing to write off that expense after he decided not to go through with his suicide. Where did he get all that cash?

He’s a hacker, money is easily gotten he probably has a stash of ECoin. Also, I think Darlene and Elliot probably have a trust fund of some type.

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking when I watched the episode...that "latchkey kid" seemed to act SO much like a young version of Elliot that, when Elliot argued with him, it was as if he was talking to HIMSELF! Very surreal and dreamlike indeed, and in an episode where--of all movies--Back to the Future figures into the plot?

I doubt it as we had multiple interactions. We haven’t had many “dream sequences” either. We know Trenton had a brother as well. While I don’t totally dismiss it, I just have doubts about it.

So they really seem to be pushing time travel plot undertone hard. Is it a red herring or are they really moving that way? Is White Rose building Project Titan?

Just some basic thoughts. I thought this was a really good episode. This far Elliot has done everything D.A./WR has expected of him. If this hack is a “known” then he really didn’t hack DA without them knowing what he was doing. Darlene and Angela (actresses who play them) have done an EXCELLENT job this year. A special nod to Angela’s spiral into madness.

2:35:1 (also known as "scope") is a nice canvas to paint a narrative on. Particularly action narratives. Some directors even see 16:9 as a "square" ratio. It's been interesting to see Netflix resurrect 2:1 as an aspect ratio.

This episode was soooo predictable and idk
What's the point of saving Tyrell just to knock him down? Obviously he's going to team up with Elliot against DA
The FBI guy is going down...no surprise even Dom sees it now
DA uploads Elliot's hack??? Seriously??? :
Darlene-What the Hell!!
Angela- where are we going with this???

I know, I got a little carried away with the emoticons lol
In any case, my point is that this storyline is no where near as engrossing as the first two seasons. It seems they blew their load with stage 2 and now what?
Let's fake a kidnapping and a murder suicide so we can turn Tyrell into a chump/puppet
Let's have the head of the FBI call the Foreign Government Hackers from his FBI office
Lets hack the DA with a usb stick while Darlene muff dives and still fails to steal an id card
Oh and my favorite, Lets turn Angela into a Bag Lady and send the MIB after her... wtf!!! lol
Oh let's not forget the whole time travel, alternate universe, they're not dead thing...

I would've liked to see Price (Cristofer is awesome in this role) become Tyrell's puppet (by order of WR) then team up with Mr Robot to bring down the DA and Tyrell

Here's how I see it:

Elliot hacked the Dark Army and now knows the location of all the operatives/cells
Elliot, Darlene, and Dom now know it's possible to undo the 5-9 hack
Dom knows the Dark Army is behind stage 2 and that her immediate supervisor is probably a DA puppet
Dom and Darlene make a cute couple
Tyrell once again has inside access to E-corp
Elliot and Mr. Robot are finally working together instead against each other to save humanity!

Wasn't that a little too easy? It took them a season+ to hack E-Corp

Elliot, Darlene, and Dom now know it's possible to undo the 5-9 hack
Agreed

Dom knows the Dark Army is behind stage 2 and that her immediate supervisor is probably a DA puppet
Agreed

Dom and Darlene make a cute couple
Sure, but the De Facto leader of fsociety failed to steal an ID card

Tyrell once again has inside access to E-corp
Where is season-1 Tyrell? He was a crazy ***** btw, loved the No Puppet reference lol

Elliot and Mr. Robot are finally working together instead against each other to save humanity!
Plus Price might have made an incredible trio against DA
This episode felt very rushed imo. Will we see a 4th season?
Hoping for a Great season finale!

And the fact that WR has agreed to let Elliott share his father's fate.

'Mr. Robot' Renewed for Season 4 at USA Network
By Josh Wigler, The Hollywood Reporter's 'Live Feed' Blog - Dec. 13, 2017

Hot on the heels of a Golden Globe nomination for series star Christian Slater, and with precious few hours remaining before its season-three finale, Mr. Robot is getting a fourth-season renewal, USA Network has announced. The writers room for season four of the computer hacker thriller, created by Sam Esmail, is open. There is currently no word on when season four will air.

Set in an alternate version of 2015, Mr. Robot follows the story of Elliot Alderson (Emmy winner Rami Malek), a troubled but brilliant computer expert who launched a revolution alongside the rebellious Mr. Robot (Slater), a darker and more militant side of his own personality. Throughout the series, Elliot and Mr. Robot have been at odds with each another, so much so that the two warring sides of Elliot have been separated all through season three, which airs its finale Wednesday.

"Elliot and Mr. Robot are completely apart," Esmail previously told The Hollywood Reporter about the story of season three. "Much like how he's trying to solve the world's problems by essentially trying to pretend it never happened and go back to the way it was, he's trying to pretend Mr. Robot is no longer there, and moving on with his life. But, again, after going through the realization that he has this condition and he does have this dissociative identity disorder, can he just push it away? Or do you have to go and actually face it at some point?"

The confrontation between Elliot and Mr. Robot is set to transpire in the season-three finale, and now, we know it will continue for at least one more season. The move is a show of confidence on USA's part: Mr. Robot has seen a steady decrease in viewership over the course of season three, while simultaneously earning critical praise for a season that THR's Tim Goodman described as "must-watch again" television.

In terms of the show's future beyond season four, there's currently no word, though Esmail himself has spoken about Mr. Robot in terms of a five-season arc. Speaking again with THR, he confirmed that an end to Elliot's journey is in sight.

"I've always said it's four or five seasons, and I've said that because I think it's somewhere in between," he told THR. "Whether that means the next two seasons are two short seasons, or it could technically still be two full 10-episode seasons, we're still kind of figuring that out. It's something the writers' room and I take very seriously. We never want to feel like we're treading water. Hopefully it fits into two more seasons, but we're trying to figure out that number."

The season-three finale of Mr. Robot airs tonight at 10 p.m. ET. Tune in to THR for full coverage of the series, including an interview with Esmail following the season-three finale, a final round of the weekly column with writer-producer Kor Adana and more.

Awesome news! Here's hoping they drop all that 'Time travel' 'Alternate universe' crap and go back to some serious story telling ala seasons 1&2

Enjoy the finale guys, it's going to be awesome
