Bye Lucifer, I will miss you. This was one of my favorite series out there right now. Just loved the Lucifer character. The little things he did were always so funny. Even when the captain came into the room when they were talking about him and Lucifer looked into the microscope. So minor, but he did it so well and the way he acted it was funny. It was those little things that continued to make the show enjoyable. Plus they finally went the direction I was hoping they would all season in that last scene, sadly we will not get to see it played out.

I agree it would have been nice to have another season to wrap things up, but the ending wasn't so bad for a series finale. Hopefully, Hulu, Amazon or Netflix will give it a season to wrap.

it seemed like lucifer was doing well with all the investment they put into season 3... I thought for sure there would be a season 4.

On the other hand, once it is made clear that chloe knows who lucifer is and the led characters have already professed their love for eachother, the drama/tension is basically gone... What could they do next that actually turns out to be interesting?

They also clarified that the universe is a place where you make your own heaven and hell and that all the creatures under god are in control of their own destiny. Essentially suffering/salvation is basically what you believe about yourself.

Now that the "big questions" introduced in the series are answered, I'm not sure what the plot would even do next that would be interesting. Introduce another murderer or criminal? Bring in another rogue angel?

Blazar!

I think it was more a case of FOX wanting cheaper, created in-house content, where they own all the rights for various platforms versus a show created by an outside studio or production company. Lucifer is a Warner Bros Television/Bruckheimer property, FOX is merely the USA distributor of the show.

The CW never had any discussions about saving the show.

As with many other shows, Lucifer was a victim of taking a subplot and making it the main story line. They totally got away from solving cases each week and instead focused on the Cain, etc. storyline which was tiresome. Finale was very good however.

For me it's the exact opposite. I lose interest real quick if the Murder of the Week drives the show. If so, every episode feels like a repeat (as the story never progresses) and I delete the season pass... A great example is Bull... after three or four weeks of cases I had enough and it was gone.

That was part of the problem. Although the subplot of Cain did get dragged on too far, it was Tom Welling that ruined it. He shouldn't have been cast as Cain.
To the world he will always be linked as (young) Superman / Clark Kent from "Smallville".

They should've used a less connected actor or unknown.

Apparently Foxtel in Australia will be airing the 2 standalones soon, ep 25 Boo Normal (presumably the Ella ghost one) and ep 26 Once Upon A Time, the Neil Gaiman narrating as God episode.

Jeers to Fox for cancelling this one.

Other shows could learn a thing or two on how to kill off a character from them though.

All shows most the other broadcast networks had no interest in, and Fox had Fringe for 5 years. There hasn't been a sci-fi show that has lived for more than a couple seasons (usually less) on ABC, NBC or CBS for years. We all give FOX a lot of grief, but they seem to be the only ones to actually get sci-fi shows out of the pilot phase vs. the other non cable nets. Sure they cancel them sometimes, but at least they try them out.

And remember the X-Files ? 20th Century Fox TV developed that for CBS originally who passed on it.

Well said, sir. And I miss Fringe. Would love to see a mini X-Files type revival or even a Christmas movie.

Fox also gave Gotham a decent run and a chance to do a good wrap-up.

Well the last two episodes where IMHO

The 8PM episode flowed well with the series. It could of been a missing Season 3 or a possible Season 4 episode.

While the 9PM episode was blah. Maybe it was because Detective Douche directed it.

I remember getting burned watching Millennium back in the late '90's. If my memory is correct, the show just disappeared in the middle of the season.
I watched Dollhouse and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Two great shows canned waaay before they should have been.

I can see why those were throw away episodes. Although I did get a kick out of Luci's quip to the movie star Chloe "I did watch you defeat the Aramanian army in a rather spectacular car chase through Rome - although, strangely, it looked a lot more like Vancouver to me." And Dr. Linda. Where have those been hiding all these seasons?
