Teeth Tusk gnashing on a rainy Sunday in the Great Northwest:

Everything that went wrong since the last SB was on display today.
It's a pattern that keeps repeating itself game after game, all year long.

Once again, my the Seahawgks beat themselves.
Once again, down in the pits, Seattle whipped their opponents.
Over 400 yards total offence vs. < 300 yards for the Cats.

Wilson followed the usual Pete Carroll pre-game instructions and tried to stay in the pocket.
AND EVERY FRICKIN' GAME the strategy fails, resulting in Carolina getting 2 free TDs in the first half from poorly thrown balls.
As it turned out, this time they dug the hole too deep before turning him loose to do the ONE thing he is the best in the league at: scrambling.
Seattle outscored the kitties 24-17 in the last 3 quarters of the game, but the damage was done.

Patterns, patterns....
Being behind early has become a Seattle tradition.
Usually this isn't a big deal, but it was today.
Unfortunately, with the hole SOOO deep against a good team, Marshawn's Beast Mode has to be deep-sixed and everything falls to Wilson.

The Offensive Line was, as usual, like a sieve.
Panther rushers were in Wilson's face all game long.
(Sidebar --- Pete Carroll after the SB last year:
"Hey, I hear Jimmy Graham is available!
Let's give up our Pro Bowl center for him.
Wilson don't need no stinkin' blockers, he's got young legs!")

All of the team's weaknesses were on display today (Seattle truly is predictable).
Most of the time, the talent of the players overcome the trainwreck that is their Head Coach....just not this Sunday.
When Wilson's inability to be accurate with the deep ball bites 'em (again), Seattle can't find a way back before the final whistle.

Last Sunday, the Vikes deserved the win by their more intelligent gameplay, but the Gods of Football were not fair.
However, even they can't reward stupidity 2 games in a row.

Blaming Pete for giving a pro bowl center away is on the shoulders of the GM not Pete. The GM has the ultimate decision on that.

These are just my opinions.

Broncos offense stalls but that's been all year long and there still here. Fate? I believe so and hoping I just hate the Pat's.

Seems to me you can't complain about the 'Hawks trading away a pro-bowl center for a pro-bowl tight end, thereby theoretically weakening their QB's pass protection from the pocket, while at the same time saying your QB is a crappy pocket passer and functions most efficiently while in scramble mode where a pass-receiving tight end can really help him. So which is it?

Fact is, nothing would have saved the Seahawgs yesterday. The Panthers beat them twice in two tries this season because the Kitties are a more complete team. The games were tight (yesterday's first half excepted), and there were wild swings of momentum both ways. These two teams are very similar, very close. But Carolina is a tiny bit better in every phase of the game and that's what separates teams in the modern parity-driven NFL. Balance of power shifts. Stuff happens.

Don't want to tell you guys how to spend your money, but you probably want to think twice about betting against the Cats, again, next week. Just sayin'. You got mouths to feed. Fergodsakes, think of the kids! Like this guy...

Spoiler!

STFU already, Chris...
I was trying to think of another QB who could rollout to the "wrong side" and under intense pressure, while falling back, throw a pass 60 yards dead on target to a third-string receiver, much less as the last gasp as time expired in a play-off game. Couldn't think of one. Oh maybe, Sonny Jurgensen, but he didn't ever rollout. It was more a creepout.

That pass was the purest form of natural throwing talent I can remember seeing in a football game. Only a somewhat lesser great play a few moments later by the oppossing QB & receiver served to remove it from legendary status. It must win the game to be legendary. The karma has to turn the game. Still, it was what it was.

NO WAY would the GM have traded him away without Carroll signing off...

x2.

I don't have a problem seeing the Seahawk's season ending yesterday, nor would I have had had the Vikes won the week before.
I DO have a problem when stupidity plays a big part in the results.

I wish the Panthers the best and do hope they beat the Cheatriots in the SB.

So, didn't watch the Pats game, but the Cards Packers game was one of the better games of the year. Packers probably should have went for two after that last TD, get it over with one way or another.

Seahawks picked the wrong day to have a bad half. I wanted to shut it off, but in the back of my head I knew it still could get close. Ten more minutes and we may have seen one of the greatest playoff comebacks in history. Amazing how a team can tighten up like that after getting a quick lead. We see it all the time though.

Watched a bit of the Bronco's game, it looked like they were playing "not to lose". Yawn. I doubt they have a chance against to Pats, especially playing like that.

Cardoski,
So your graphic is basically saying the NFL has become such a QB driven league that only a handful of teams have any chance year in and year out. Sometimes I really do wonder why I watch and root for my team.

Yes it would appear so, there is the rare outlier like the 2000 Ravens and Gruden's Bucs. But without a great QB it is tough to win in the NFL.

Yes, I've slipped & went under the car too. I'd actually like to be able to feel my feet for 6-7 months out of the year. I just watched the Christmas Classic The Gathering, which was filmed about 15 miles from me, & quite captures the essense of true winter & how bleak & depressing it truly is.

So St. Louis Plays in a Dome now? & I noticed that the Vikings play outside again??? What year is it & how long have I been asleep?

I know, Domes are for those progressive cities with warm weather climates.... , huh?

Woke up to a frigid 47 this morning. The Vikings are outside because they are having a new home built, and the Rams aren't,so they are leaving town.

My mother winters in Florida, first year she was there she couldn't believe people had pants and jackets on in 60 degree weather The day she flew out it was like -30 when she landed in Orlando it was like 70. That is one massive temp shift in just a few hours.
