To everyone's impression, Quincannon was in the right on wanting to claim their land, and they even said it looks like Jessie went crazy and is shooting.

My main gripe is that Jessie doesn't use his ability more often. He could command them to leave and never come back, he could command Quincannon to forgot about the land, he could command the angels to tell him how to get someone out of hell, yet he doesn't use it but once or twice.
I realize things are a little different in Texas, but I can't imagine any state would allow a band of armed hooligans to shoot up a property as a means of settling a property dispute, regardless of who fired first. In my neck of the woods (aka., the real world), if someone is shooting at people from inside a building (regardless of who owns the property or his or her reasons), the SWAT team is called out to deal with the issue. In the small town setting of Preacher, the sheriff was either too wimpy or was too afraid of Quincannon to handle the situation himself. The fact that he didn't try to prevent Quincannon's gang from attacking the church shows he was powerless or in cahoots with Quincannon.

Don't believe we ever saw his hands, just that he was in the back.

Well 1, this isn't the real world this "trope" has been used a number of times in TV/movies, so it's not too far out of the realm of possibility. I tend to think he was "powerless" in that situation.

Are you seriously talking about what would really happen and what would be allowed in a state on a show with a vampire, angles, and a creature inside a preacher that can make you do whatever he says??? This show is the definition of over the top.

The mayor talked about that. He said he looked into it and their verbal agreement was indeed valid and binding.

Maybe the mayor has no idea what he is talking about. It's a he said, he said situation. If there are no witnesses it didn't happen....

Good point! I guess the main idea I was trying to get across was that the sheriff was either a wuss or in Quincannon's back pocket by not even lodging any disagreement or dissatisfaction with how Quincannon was trying to take the church. I should've never tried to make the point by comparing the show with the real world. lol

I never saw him wear a bracelet, it looks like handcuffs to me. I also feel like a dumbass, I just realized Quincannon was the motorcylce riding, smoking pitcher in the og Bad News Bears

I do believe blowing off another mans member is grounds for arrest in all 50 states and Puerto Rico and Guam

Watched again, it was handcuffs in the front. I don't think he was under arrest at all though. Since we didn't see the scene to get him in cuffs, I believe he may have used Genesis Voice to have the sherif "escort" him away. The looks they were giving each other didn't exactly speak "trouble" except for maybe a little fear from the sherif.

Mayors have nothing to do with making decisions like that. That decision is for a judge. For authorities, what matters is whose name is on the deed. Any claims of rights to property have to be established in the courts.

Again, an over the top show with vampires, angels, and an all powerful creature. Gotta let things go sometimes.

If there are no real rules, whatever. You posted a justification for what happened. I called BS.

The real answers are the showrunners don't care and that Odin runs the town. Just don't tell me that the Mayor has the right to find Odin's claim legal when he just covered up a bunch of Odin's murders.

The Mayor has the right in this town/this universe of the show. No one questions the Mayor here, Odin runs everything and the mayor is his puppet. Its a backwards, crazy town with a bunch of weirdos in it that follow their own rules/the way things are done. If the Mayor says it was legal agreement, the town is behind him 100%, even the mascot.

So true. See Banshee, PA. Maybe more realistic but hardly going to ever happen at least in the USA.

Another visually unique and wild opening scene to start the show. Loved it. A great episode. The travel agent to hell, funny and clever. The bus to hell, in the same place as in a scene from Breaking Bad. the line from the driver, "no carry-on luggage", Classic.

I have never watched a show like this! The cowboy sequences finally explained a little more about him and his purpose. For those that haven't watched the episode yet this one is out there. I haven't even mentioned Cassidy and his feeding schedule.

This show is a trip. Lol. Those two angels crack me up. Next week is the season finale. Will be interesting to see how it all comes together. Also, there's a Talking Preacher afterwards. Gonna be a tv filled night as Sharknado 4 premiers too.

How about the line from the travel agent? How about "the big one in the back for 20 minutes"! The Angels reply was even better, "umm okay". That was laugh out loud funny to me at least.
