Can we cheer and boo and raise a hullabaloo? And why is baseball the only sport that inspires great songs?

This Dodger fan is well aware of the fact it's an even numbered year, and even more aware that the team did next to nothing as far as replacing Greinke.

Should be a great season in the NL West.

Arizona made some nice moves so they might be able to get a wild card...in the AL Boston looks loaded- great moves signing David Price and Kimbrel

Indeed, the West looks like it will be very interesting this year, at least for Giants, Dodgers and D-backs fans. I don't think San Diego did much of anything in the offseason, other than trying to move Kemp. And Colorado, well, it's Colorado...

(sorry Padres and Rockies fans)

We can't let this happen! The fact that the Cubs haven't won in 108 years is one of MLB's greatest stories, the longer they go without the better the story gets!

I was really hoping they would have won in 2015 since it was a bit of an early surprise they were so good. Now they have all the preseason prediction pressure on them... Hopefully they'll overcome it! Either way I'm sure it will be a stressful ride this summer.

I split my rooting between the Rays, Cubs and Red Sox. Since the Cubs got Madden and made a darn good showing last year I am hoping to see them in the Series and winning it all this year.

I hope this doesn't break any rules... I lurk here at AVS every day and when I saw a MLB thread I'd thought I would take the opportunity to see if any one would be interested in testing my baseball mobile app. It's probably really likely only baseball fans would pop in here.

It's only iOS (at this point) so you would need an iPhone or iPad with iOS 9.2 installed. It's not a video or arcade game. It is an audio baseball app. My use case for writing it was that I was getting tired of listening to podcasts, music and talk radio on my long commute to/from work.

Anyway I don't want to hijack this thread so if you would be interested in testing it, please PM me and I can give you details on how you can get it installed. It's free of course.

Doug

Watch the Barclay (UK) League on NBC on Saturday afternoons, or any international game for that matter. Didn't say I know what they're singing, but sing they do.

I bet most of those guys get sloppy drunk after a win by their teams.

It appears that I might drop Comcast since those SOBs removed the YES Network and no agreement is in sight.

I thought about getting the MLB package on DirecTV, but decided to get the MLB.TV streaming instead since it's only $109 for the season.

I think about doing that every year but for $70 more I get MLB-EI in full HD and MLB.tv comes with it for free. If I were to go with just MLB.tv I would go even cheaper and just get the single team package at $85.

If my team was out-of-market then I would have went that way, but since we're a multi-team rooting household I went for the whole thing . I just couldn't justify the extra money D* wanted. The stream we've been watching (Yankees) looks pretty good using a wired Roku.

I was watching on my TiVo and now just started on the Roku and if the Roku is getting a 60fps stream I can't really tell any difference, they both look very, very good. Maybe the TiVo is getting a 60fps feed as well, although, it wasn't one of the listed devices as such. It's supposed to start with the 2016 season but I don't know if that includes Spring Training.

It says 60fps for regular season but I think they turned it on early because I don't remember the Spring Traning games looking this good last year.

Yes, it really does look good, I may have to think about whether to let my auto-subscribe to MLB-EI go through or not!

I take it back, the Angels/Giants game is not even close to the quality of the earlier Tigers/Yankees game, probably the local broadcaster feed.
