I still occasionally lose the 1080 and 4K selections on the C61K. Going into the menu selection resets it. I have tried power cycling both the HR54 in the other room and then the C61K and it came back after stopping for about a week. The speed selection with the guide is not much better after the update.

I haven’t had that (1080p) issue for awhile now. Yay! But I did notice I’m prohibited from the Devils Penguins hockey game. Boo!

I had no issues with my c61k in regards to resolutions unchecked. Just recently I started seeing 4k unchecked so I must have a new firmware version.

Anyone with a 15 or 16 samsung that cannot get hlg hdr from direct seeing color issues if your hdmi color is set to on for that input? Ive just recently noticed colors on both regular channels and 104 and 106 seemed slightly washed out when it is on versus when i turn it off. Colors seem deeper when it is off, tested some last night when the hockey game was on. I have a ks9800. I was thinking even if i cant get hdr from direct at least yet turning on uhd color would give me WCG, but everything looks slightly washed out. Samsung owners 2015 and 2016 owners chime in and tell me if you are seeing this also.

4K/HDR Sports
AT&T/DirecTV Will Deliver The Masters in 4K HDR for the First Time

Satcaster will team with CBS Sports to present 4K HDR coverage from Augusta National’s Amen Corner, Holes 15 and 16

By By Jason Dachman, Chief Editor Sports Video Group
Friday, March 23, 2018 - 10:53 am

Augusta National will become the latest golf course to get the live 4K HDR treatment, with AT&T’s DirecTV delivering The 2018 Masters next month in the next-gen format for the first time. DirecTV will team with CBS Sports, which will once again also handle the primary HD coverage, to produce and deliver live 4K HDR coverage from the storied Amen Corner (Holes 11, 12, 13) and from Holes 15 and 16. In all, DirecTV will offer more than 50 hours of Masters coverage in 4K HDR on Channels 105 and 106.

This year’s Masters is the third to be produced in 4K/UHD, but it will mark DirecTV’s first HDR coverage from Augusta. DirecTV became the first U.S. pay-TV provider to broadcast sports live in 4K HDR in December with a Penguins-Golden Knights NHL Game (simulcast on NHL Network) and then presented golf in live 4K HDR for the first time at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February (also in conjunction with CBS Sports).

4K HDR programming from Augusta National will begin with first- and second-round coverage on Thursday, April 5 and Friday, April 6, featuring live Amen Corner coverage from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET on DirecTV Channel 105 and Holes 15 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Channel 106. Weekend coverage on Saturday, April 7 and Sunday, April 8 will include Amen Corner coverage from noon to 6 p.m. on Channel 105 and Holes 15 and 16 from 12:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Channel 106.

Last year, DirecTV and CBS Sports experimented with adding HDR to its 4K coverage, but the content was visible only in special viewing areas at Augusta.

The Masters marks the latest chapter in AT&T/DirecTV’s ongoing 4K and HDR efforts. Over the past three years, DirecTV has aired more than 740 hours of live 4K and 4K HDR programming, including college football, NCAA basketball, professional golf (2016 and 2017 Masters), NBA, MLB, and the Olympics. The satcaster hosts three fully dedicated 4K TV channels (104, 106, and PPV channel 105) with both live and previously recorded documentaries, concerts, series, and pay-per-view events.

In addition to The Masters, AT&T announced other upcoming live 4K HDR sports programming:

NHL
3/31 – Montreal @ Pittsburgh, 7:00 p.m.
4/2 – Washington @ St. Louis, 8:00 p.m.

NBA
3/17 – Minnesota @ San Antonio, 8:30 p.m.
3/28 – Cleveland @ Charlotte, 7:00 p.m.

MLB
3/30 – NY Yankees @ Toronto, 7:07 p.m.
3/31 – Houston Astros @ Texas, 4:00 p.m. (Ch. 105)
4/11 – NY Yankees @ Boston, 7:10 p.m.
4/12 – NY [email protected] Boston, 7:10 p.m.
4/26 – Milwaukee [email protected] Chicago, 8:05 p.m.

Premier League
4/1 – Chelsea v. Tottenham, 11:00 a.m.
4/14 – Tottenham v. Man City, 2:45 p.m.
4/22 – Man City v. Swansea City, 11:30 a.m.
4/29 – Man United v. Arsenal, 11:30 a.m.

It's an existing issue that the 2016 KS Samsung TV series will not accept DirecTV HDR over HDMI for display even though the 4K is excellent.

I get that but im not sure why turning on uhd color to the port the mini is hooked up to washes out the color slightly on all channels. The regular hr54 does not do this.

Missed those, then, as the only ads I've seen came during the NCAA Tournament. Everything else I timeshift on my HTPC with all the ads stripped out.

Well, I spoke too soon. I’ve never had this type of shut down of my system, before. I’m now limited to only 720p. Wow!!!
I’m rebooting everything and seeing if it fixes it. It just got worse, so I’m assuming they’re doing nothing helpful. Sigh.

Oh and it didn’t let me choose the unchecked boxes.

Reboot fixed it, but wow.

I've had it lock me into 480p a couple of times. Had to unplug it, wait for it to boot up and then I could switch settings. It's always something.

well known issue - client's FW and your TV FW does not negotiate properly or fast enough to fit C61k's FW requirement

Me neither? You explained that you were UNABLE to change the settings. I have had it happen to me. I had not switched on my AVR. When I did the menu selection changed. These C61K's are so temperamental. It all comes back to HDMI and communicating.

The video for the Kansas and Duke game is choppy as hell. Not seeing that on my cable system, only DirecTv.

What's your CBS affiliate? Might be an aiming issue with your dish, depending on which spotbeam your local is on.

WTSP in Tampa, OTA: not choppy
390 and 391 aren't choppy, either.

I only punched it up for a little bit upon seeing your post, but I didn't see any issues. Not like during the TBS games, yesterday. Which I never thought to compare to cable.

4/2 – Washington @ St. Louis, 8:00 p.m.

Yeah. Rebooting fixed it all but it was stable for quite a while. Then BOOM. They all get unchecked and locked out leaving only 720p.

I used to have the same issues too but in the latest releases that I updated to it has not done it since, super annoying right!

There are some updates coming for the clients that look to be in testing, so hopefully they close these issues out. The C61K is the only client I was having these issues with, the others have been fine. As said it's a sync issue but doesn't appear to favor any TV's, just randomly happens. Again I think they have it fixed, just a matter of time till you get the latest updates pushed.

Surprised the Masters did this due to their sparse coverage until a few years ago (front nine was never televised even on weekends) but who watches 3 holes when they watch a Major golf tournament?
